Dr. Allgaier and his staff are always so kind, courteous, and professional. Sharon goes out of her way to make everything about choosing, ordering, and fitting my glasses easy and stress free. I have been a patient/client of Walkersville Eyecare for over 20 years, and I have no intention of ever stopping. Thank you Walkersville Eyecare for such fabulous service.

All staff, and I mean every single person I interacted with, are friendly, knowledgeable and kind! I highly recommend this office. They treated my seven-year-old son with an eye emergency and I went through a standard eye exam. Every part, every visit, every person made a very wonderful experience

I saw Dr. Patel today. She did a wonderful job of thoroughly examining my eyes. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me find some frames that I really wanted. The selection of frames was large and very stylish. A really good experience! I highly recommend Walkersville Eye Care, particularly Dr. Patel.

Always pleasant and treat their patients with respect. I've been going there for over 10 years and couldn't be happier! I've had to go in for emergency's when I've torn my cornea and they took me immediately. They care about their people. We're more than patients, it's such a rare thing to find people who care.

My husband and I have been to many different optometrists/ophthalmologists in and around Frederick. No one can beat the service and friendliness of Dr. Steven Algier. The staff is very efficient as well. Glasses themselves from expensive to inexpensive. Great job Walkersville Eyecare!

Steven R. Allgaier is great! He knows American Sign Language. I was impressed! I will definitely go back to him. Yes, I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good eye doctor.

Walkersville Eyecare has been and continues to be a five star office. From the beginning of the phone call for an appointment to the payment as you leave, the staff is helpful, thoughtful and caring. Each one knows the specifics of their part in the process and provides the customer with the best service and care.

We loved Walkersville Eye Care. I can see better already! Just kidding. We're getting new glasses, so we'll see better in 2 to 3 weeks! Everyone was friendly and professional. We got friendly text reminders of our upcoming appointment. Dr Patel was amazing and Kim the Optician was excellent. We would give ten stars if we could.

I have been going to Walkersville Eyecare for almost 20 yrs. They are a professional practice with exceptional opticians and doctors. They are also very good about staying on schedule and seeing you at your scheduled appt time. I have never been rushed through an appt. I recently started seeing Dr Lisa Smith. She is an excellent addition to the Walkersville team.

She is friendly, knowledgeable, willing to answer as many questions as you have, and she explains any testing & results in as much detail as needed. I would highly recommend this practice!

Just had my first visit at this eye care center. Front office staff was friendly, welcoming, pleasant and efficient. Wonderful The optometrist was lovely. Very sharp, good communicator, professional and warm. He answered all my questions and did not sell me something I didn't need I highly recommend this provider

I love Walkersville Eyecare. They are wonderful. Everyone is wonderful, from the first phone call, to your actual appointment. They've been making glasses for my daughter for years. I decided to go ahead and make an appointment for myself, and as expected, I was not disappointed. I HIGHLY recommend. Very polite and professional. This place proves there still is great customer service.

Not very happy with this company. Was told my glasses would be in 2 weeks. It's been 17 days and still no glasses. Called them on Wed 7.14 was told it would be Thursday, called Thursday and was told Friday. They called today and still nothing.

I have found my new optometrist! The whole experience was great, right down to setting up the initial exam. They even went the extra mile looking up my actual eye care insurance, through my health insurance, since I didn't have a eye insurance card. The staff was busy, but they took the time to greet everyone & get people back for their appts. in a very timely fashion.

I felt obligated to write this review, based off the 1 star reviews. I went to a one star optometrist before. I almost didn't set a appt. with them based off the 1 star reviews. I'm so pleased I went with my gut and made a appt. Dr. Patel was awesome! The young woman that tested me was funny & the man that helped me pick out my new frames was honest about how they looked. Everyone has bad days, but I found the staff to be top notch & want people to know about it!

Not well-staffed. Busy when we came in to look/buy glasses and had to wait over an hour. Then when it was time to pick up we called to make sure there wouldn't be a wait. They said there wasn't a wait, come right in. An hour later we are still waiting. However a customer who came in after we did had a fit and she was served before we were. Not coming back.

I highly recommend this practice for your eyecare. They have always been very thorough and get you in if you have a problem. I really appreciate that. My husband and I have been going here over 25 years and still think they are the best. They took special precautions during COVID which were above what was necessary and I also appreciate that since I am high risk. Dr. Algaier was very kind and helpful when my eye was very sore and he took me right in. He told me to follow up if it did not feel better. The new office decor is fresh and clean, as is the whole office.

We've been here multiple times over 3 years. As a parent who was blindsided with my son needing a significant prescription I was fairly uncomfortable with our first visit. We are always up sold on quite a few options that keep costing more and more. The KICKER was when we had our first follow up with my son's specialist 6 months after the first visit.

They informed us that our prescription was filled incorrectly. When I went back to the store, I was actually told "we don't make mistakes" when I handed them the glasses. Sure enough they definitely had made the mistake and had to fully reorder the lenses. For a mom getting a 4 year old to try to keep glasses on at all times, this was 6 months of fighting that might not have happened if my son had the correct lenses.

When my younger son needed glasses they again helped us, same uncomfortable service, we were told "oh, you have two boys? You'll be in here a lot" (In reference to glasses breaking). They also refused to tell us their PD which caused me to not go back for a couple of years. Recently we went in to get their annual pair of glasses covered by insurance and it was several hundred each after insurance.

I specifically asked for the most durable glasses that they had because I have two young boys. I was referred to and chose their recommendation over what my boys wanted. One pair bent multiple times within the first 2 weeks. It clearly showed that they didn't know their products well for children. This is all on top of one particular salesman who made me uncomfortable every time I went in. We've refused to go back even though both pairs that we bought last broke very easily.

My sons have worn glasses from Zenni ever since and we've been on the same pairs for months. Oh and their replacement frames are less than $20. I was willing to go there each year to get the pair that insurance covers and possibly get cheeper backups elsewhere. They refused to allow us to shop around by refusing the PD. We will go back to Costco (cheeper and better service) and other easier purchases.

I just left the Walkersville eye care place and I would not recommend it to anyone. their service was horrible their attitudes were unacceptable and I didn't appreciate it. I felt very attacked and it's a very hostile environment I would not recommend anyone to go there. I will go to their Corporate office. I am very disappointed I spent over 1500.00 with them last year. I wont go back there

I have always had the best experience here! Short wait time, friendly reception services, clean environment, amazing friendliness. Their glasses selection is better than anyplace I've seen before. All of the doctors are wonderful-- courteous, ask questions, make sure you're comfortable, and provide professional service. Dr. Lisa Smith is so kind and I always feel refreshed after seeing her. She offers medical insight, solutions, and is always dedicated to helping me see things clearly. I will recommend everyone to come here! 5/5 all around.

Dr. Allgaier was great with my special needs child. All staff members were friendly and helpful. The downside to this practice is the long wait for an appointment-about three months in our case. I suppose that is reflective of its popularity. Located in a strip mall. Waiting area can get very crowded. At the risk of being accused of nit-picking, I would say the whole place could stand to be renovated, if it hasn't been already.

I've been going to Walkersville Eyecare since I was in elementary school (now in my mid-30s), and I absolutely love them. They're very thorough and I've always had great experiences with the optometrists there. Unfortunately they don't take my new insurance! But I love them so much that's not even a reason to take off a star. I just wish I didn't have to find a new place!

Used to be good when Dr Sclar was there, but things have changed pretty dramatically since he left. After my last experience, I'll be going elsewhere.

Excellent array of glasses to choose from. The service there is excellent also. Really like the 2 doctors that I've seen there as well. So all the way around, this place is great. Because of all that, it sometimes takes a while to get an appointment for evenings or weekends. But you just have to know to call a month or more in advance. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with my glasses and I appreciate their excellent customer service! Have been going here for at least 5 years and will keep going and recommend to others!

Dr. Scalar and the rest of the staff are excellent! I have been going there for over 10 years and the always have been nothing but professional. It night take some time to get an appointment but it is well worth the wait. Not to mention do you really want to go to a doctor that has a wide open schedule? They have a very stylish selection and whatever they can't do in house for you they will send out.

I am now getting ready to have lasik and despite being a little nervous, they have been great doing all of the pre-op. In addition they recommended a surgeon to me and are prepared to handle all of the post op work as well. Aside from saving me some serious mileage it is nice to be in comforting hands. They are wonderful and I would HIGHLY recommend them!
