I sadly had to go to the hospital for a bad pill interaction and it just seemed like no one was on the same page in the ER. I was supposed to be observed on a pill for one day, but they never brought it to me. I didn't even know about the pill observation until the doctor came in expecting results. After not getting better, I was moved to floor 5.
They pumped me full of Ativan to keep me calm and on the 3rd night, they said hey, try talking this HALDOL. It's the same thing at Ativan and it'll keep you calm. They lied to me. I had a psychotic episode, went completely nuts in my head, wasn't able to sleep at all, every little sound scared me and I had suicidal thoughts. Due to my honestly of the suicidal thoughts from the pill that they gave me, they 1013'd me.
That means they took every corded item and every one of my belongings from my room and 'locked' it away and had me under 24 hour supervision. Upon discharge, they brought my stuff back up and after going through it, I was missing two things. My massaging back roller and my lightning apple charger. They swore up and down that neither were down in security.
After calling security myself, my backroller was located, but charger was not. One of the hospital employees STOLE my 50$ charger after I had the adverse effects from a pill that they said would keep me calm. which was a LIE. The hospital visit was fine until my personal property went missing. St. Joseph's has refused to reimburse me of my charger and will "run a full investigation". I will never be going back to St. Joseph's.

I recently had to go to the ER and every nurse and doctor was amazing! The waiting room took a minute, but after I was admitted and taken into a room, I felt that they took great care of me! My doctors were a short red-haired woman and a taller brown-haired woman. I don't have their names, but they were exceptional! They reassured me and went above and beyond with assuring that I was okay! I would definitely come here again in the event that I need to go to the ER again!

I was a patient of Candler who fell through the cracks. I was sent to a rehabilitation center (nursing home) over 1 and 1/2 hours away from my home. I went for antibiotic drip therapy and wound care. When I arrived I was told nothing had been set up for me to get the antibiotics. I went 4 days without receiving the treatment I was sent for. It was all set up through the social worker at Candler who told my loved ones there was no facility in Savannah that would take me.
When I arrived at the facility, it was very outdated the food was horrible (they fed me corn and pork) almost every day for the first week or so. They were telling the other patients to use the bathroom in their pants instead of bringing them a bed pan ( because the bed pans were locked up and lady who had the key to come unlock it was at home and was not to be disturbed) and that they would get to them when they could.
My loved ones were given documents that stated the care I was to receive and everything that was stated was changed without conferring with me or my family. In my opinion, it is Candlers responsibility to send patients to a facility they and their families can feel safe in. It is also their responsibility to fully check into the facilities they send their patients to to make sure they are going to get the proper care they need.
No one should have to go to a facility where the nursing staff as well as the patient care members and administrative staff have no clue what they are doing. One other thing that disturbed me about the facility I was sent to is that at night they would put everything out of my reach like the call button. I'm not able to walk or use my hands fully so if something would have happened I would not have been able to just jump up out of the bed and get help. I honestly felt like my life was being endangered. I'm home now and feel more secure and taken care of.

I had an amazing experience for my outpatient surgery. I came in and the facility was clean, comfortable, it was truly a relaxing experience before going back. The nurses were so attentive and pleasant. I did feel a tad rushed to be released. I was still dizzy coming off the medicine and I was told to get dressed 20 minutes after getting to the recovery room. Could not have asked for more other then that slight bump at the end.

I have been to Candler ER twice in the last three months and have received excellent care! I was nervous about going because of Covid and the possibility of having to wait forever to be seen, but I actually was in and out in less than two hours on both occasions. The staff were professional and very courteous, showing a lot of personal care and empathy for my situation. Thank you so much! Great job!

One star is one to man. this is my second bed experience. The employees most of all clinical staff or uncaring and rude. Maybe because of fatigue burn out I don't know. What can I say I won't be coming back I won't bring my loved ones here. Saint Joseph is supposed to be a faith based hospital. And it's very far from it I think Saint Joseph should change their symbol and name.
But when you have millions and millions of dollars in donations backing you I guess people like me don't matter. I watched as people came into the emergency room it seems like their job was to turn people away diagnosed them is not being a emergency without checking them not even getting their names not even caring how sad this is what we have come to.

I would love to thank every single staff member in the hospital. The front desk ladies were awesome in every aspect(I wish I remember some name to recognize). The nurses are extremely nice and professional(God bless all of them). I gave it 5 stars but I witnessed few minor things that I think it's easy to fix. I will put them below: 1- The walls of the rooms are scratched in some spots and may needs some fix here and there.
A new paint could make them nicer. 2- some of the equipments looks kind of outdated (I am not a professional! But I saw nicer equipments in the hospitals of Arizona where I moved from). 3- the hallways outside the room where my wife stayed were very noisy, that troubled my wife 'sleep. 4- the floors were unclean. I know I am writing this review in the middle of a terrible pandemic but still hospitals needs to be clean and safe.

All the of staff and people who were associated with the facility, etc. were helpful and kind. The evening nurse in the Emergency area told my wife she would call her to let her know my condition and possible room assignment and she followed through with that call later that evening. Thanks so much. I received wonderful care, clear information about my condition and treatment options.
The hospital was busy and wait times are always stressful but with the current state of things it is expected, I received quality treatment and the people providing it still took time to be personable, friendly and caring, from the cleaning people to the doctors.

PT - physical therapy done here once before and about to start the second round of AquaTherapy then transition to aqua/land, then land. Brandon is a great Physical therapist. He explains how the body is intended to move. He always greets me formally by name and with a smile. Janice at the front desk is really cool and easy to work with. I'd recommend Candler.

I was transferred to candler hospital in Savannah Georgia from st. Joesphs hospital in Savannah Georgia via All girls EMT team EMS service to the 5th subacute rehabilitation floor due to hip fracture repair surgery @st joesphs for rehab and more recovery I am arrived in my room in the evening time I was greeted by my nurse who wrote on my board her name and PCT name and other information I might need I was given patients info paperwork booklet and she setup my table with cup and straw she got information from me and and I can't remember if I got food tray or chicken noodle soup I had PCT come take vitals and set up toiletry items and a gown.
She also asked if I needed anything. I wasn't allowed to get up due medication given and had to ring nurse call button and I didn't have a walker in room yet so had to use bedpan via nurse instructions. I was kept as comfortable as could be by pain and nausea meds and meds taking at home. Nightshift came on and in came day nurse and night nurse who introduced and given brief information on me and new pct who took vitals ask if needed anything.
I remember hearing Durning the night talking and laughing but went back to sleep. My attending physician and I think they are called assistant physicians or PA's were all very excellent gave me excellent patient care and excellent bedside treatment and manners. Nurse Karon, nurse Monica, nurse, Jessica, nurse Cowboy really are excellent nurses and godsend to candler hospital 5th floor subacute rehabilitation floor and really caring about their patients and including me try to make my stay as best it could be an as comfortable and managed my pain and nausea and administer meds and my needs even share some laughter and talks you know who you, including caring about my family visitors, I really feel that they deserve recommendations awards for being above exceptional nurses.
I also had a few exceptional PCT's that I can't remember their names deserve recognition as well. I also had rehabilitation and physical therapist and occupational therapist that also feel when above and beyond excellent and very caring for their patients and feel they really deserve recognition Nick, Sarah, Collen I pray spelled correctly, & Ashley.
I can't remember the other occupationally therapist who fix my hair on my last 3-2 days who even took a picture for me so I'd feel better and could share with family and friends. Even Amy showed me a picture of Nick's new baby boy just born made my last day rehab even though that day wasn't my physical therapist. They deserve recognition awards for great rehabilitation and above and beyond excellent patient care.
My housekeeper Treena who was exceptional and beyond a housekeeper that went above just someone who cleaned my room and put a smiley face on my communication board. My dietitian who checked to see if there was any food that I like or wanted so that I would get the right nutrition while I was there deserves recognition for excellent patient care. Mr Thomas and a young lady who I can't remember her name that came to bring me my food tray every breakfast, lunch or supper deserve recognition for above and beyond especially Mr Thomas.
There was a few people that I had issues with and even on discharge but I will refuse too let their negativity experience for me as a patient erase the excellent nurses, pcts, and rehabilitation, dietitian and food service people and housekeeping, I mentioned above care that I received while I was at Candler hospital as a patient recovering from the fall that fractured my hip while I was recovering from hip surgery with rods and pins and screws in my hip hospital stay.
Thank you to all the people I mentioned above that gave me excellent care above and beyond the staffing at Candler hospital. I would love to be able to go back when I heal and see them all and personally thank them. I would have rated a five star but due to the few ones that caused me to have a negative experience with them is why I only rated it a four star hospital.

They have a handful of people there that are holding up the Hippocratic Oath that are compassionate doctors and nurses other than that they are demonic! I have chronic pain but if I happened to injurie myself they will not give me any kind of pain medication whatsoever they have my MRIs they have my cat scan they know I have herniated disc bulging disc degenerative arthritis of two different kind bursitis in my Rolex cuffs fibromyalgia neuropathy and I'm constantly being treated like a dog by these evil people they are just there to get a paycheck and they got a whole new slew of doctors if that's what you want to call them but they don't care!
There is some nasty demonic people the Healthcare in Savannah sucks I did not move here to be mistreated by these crazy medical people I moved here for better way of life and for health reasons and these people I don't know where they came from or where they get their license but referred him if you come across something back to the Medical Board in your insurance company no one should have to be treated this way

Do NOT send your loved ones or yourself to this hospital if it's COVID related! Their care is very inconsistent and the whole time my Father-in-Law is in the hospital for almost a month, it seems like they don't know what they are doing. He was sent to ICU 3-4 days ago and now he's dead. THIS PLACE IS A DEATH SENTENCE! Save your loved ones and yourself. Wear mask, wash your hands and practice physical distancing. Even I can give you better advice than these guys to keep you alive.

Had to go to ER with my husband and we were quickly processed and rooms were very clean. Found staff to be friendly and helpful. This was definitely the most positive and easy emergency experience that had been encountered. Even the way they collected and gathered info was great. Exceptional experience. Bill was high but there finance department was super helpful. Was able to work with Grace and she was very thorough and friendly in explaining all options and because we hAd no insurance and are self pay-were able to secure a significant discount.

Went to the ER yesterday at 407 pm, signed in, had a diverticulitis flair up and I was in severe pain, the waiting room was not crowded, I sat there and sat there, twisting in my chair, more people were coming in, they were being called to the back and I was still sitting there. the whole group that came in after me was called back and seen. I was still sitting there. another group of people came in and after half of them were called back I went and asked nurse Dana, how much longer before I could be seen.
She said, we go by acuity, so I don't know, after 4 hours of sitting there I got up and left and went to memorial hospital, where I had a bleed in my intestines, diverticulits, I will never go this hospital again.

Took my wife to the emergency department. Very easy to access. Parking was convenient. The department is clean and modern. It is fairly new. Promptly triaged and taken back to room. Staff friendly and professional. Saw physician within 15-20 minutes. Test ordered and results back promptly. Registration process was quick and easy. Everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. We chose the hospital because of online ratings and the fact that it was a Magnet hospital for its nursing care. We were not disappointed.

Tony, Records Department, is exceptional. I phoned from Texas regarding my need for a vital record. When phoning, I was in a confused and upset state because I was uncertain how to obtain the record which was required in Texas. Tony calmly explained the process. He was so patient and kind. Tony, I hope you see this and tell your superior at this hospital that you are what superb customer service is all about. What a role model you would make. St Joseph's, you do not want to lose this young man. Thank you.

I had my appendix removed here after it ruptured, and though I don't ever want to be in a hospital again, if I do need to be at a hospital, I hope it is at St Joseph. I also need to give major props to the 5th floor staff. the housekeepers, techs, nurses and everyone else there were amazing. I am forever grateful for the care that I received on the 5th floor. Thank you!

Went in around 11:45pm and left about 2:15am. They put my son in a splint because they thought his wrist was bruised. I got a call this morning that the doctor misread the X-ray and it really is fractured. Disappointed that we were diagnosed wrong, I am grateful that it was the weekend and he would have had to wait anyway. Also thankful for the physician that reread the X-ray and called on a Saturday to request us to take him to the orthopedic on Monday. Update: As of Monday, the orthopedic doctor has notified is that my son's wrist is BROKEN. The ER doctor completely misread the X-ray. Definitely NOT happy with my experience!

I can thankfully say that I do not have a lot of ER experience to base a comparison on but this one was a good one. Going to the ER is scary, particularly if you're alone. I had an emergency situation while my family was out of town and had to go here. I walked up to the desk and told the lady and they wasted NO time and got me back immediately.
The nurse, Stacy, jumped right in to take care of me and began doing blood work and tests that she knew the doctor would need. I was put in a room before I knew what was going on. Dr. Greenfield was the ER doc that night & minutes within getting to my room, he came in to introduce himself & explain next steps. The staff was absolutely wonderful and caring.
My nurse, Bailey, was a sweetheart with a lot of compassion. I truly appreciate the thorough care that I received. These people are on their feet all day and work very hard. Please be patient with them. :

No one (when they have people) at the desk even acknowledges you. They act like you're a burden or a problem. The young nurse or whatever she is in the ER desk likes to chew gum and act miserable. It's a shame my loved one is in this building! Worst staff/customer service I've ever seen. Lady above keeps her name tags turned backwards, right arm upper half sleeve tat if that helps, if you even care to address.

I had back surgery yesterday at St Joseph and received excellent care. EVERYBODY that cared for from the Physician, Anesthesiologist, Nurses, Techs, Student Nurse and all others treated me exceptionally well. I would highly recommend this hospital. Thanks to all of those who cared for me before during and after my surgery.

I want to give this place 4 or 5 stars but the cleanliness issue stops me. The ER room we are in has paper and plastic litter all over. I can count 20 little pieces of trash. It looks like they mop without sweeping. The level of care from the nursing staff is 4.5. Same for the doctors. Will still return here because of location and insurance but wish the place was better managed.
