My experience started off really well. Courtney helped fit my new glasses and choose prescription sunglasses. The sunglasses were ordered over 2 months ago, I still do not have them. I personally went in to request a refund for the product not received. Courtney indicated she would speak with a manager and I would receive a call. I have waited over 48 hours, no one has called.
I was also disappointed that they acted like they had never seen me before when I clearly had spent a lot of time and money in their facility. There was just no support when things did not go as planned.

I have always enjoyed my appointments with Dr. Powers - she is very thorough and professional. The reason I just cannot recommend this office anymore is because of the front desk staff. I arrived at 1:20 for a 1:30 appointment, allowing myself an hour for time and wasn't told until I went to the receptionist desk at 2:20 to inquire that there was an emergency appointment that morning.
When I asked the receptionist why she didn't notify me of this earlier by phone or at least when I walked in she became very cold and rude and told me I could reschedule. To be honest, after thinking about this I will be finding a new doctor. It does seem that every time I go into the Carmel office there are delays of at least thirty minutes and an air of snobbery.
I also don't like the way they speak to elderly patients, impatient and abrupt on a few of my visits now. My time is also valuable. I didn't even receive an apology. After 4 years as a patient I will unfortunately be seeking another provider. I was treated as if I didn't matter because losing me is no big deal - they have plenty of patients. I felt so disrespected and it seems to be a pattern with the office staff.

After relocating I was in need of a new eye doctor. Making an appointment was easy, the receptionist was pleasant and helpful and the opthalmic tech was extremely nice and punctual. Dr. Powers performed my exam and she was thorough and professional, I felt extremely confident in her skill and accuracy regarding my exam. Contact prices were competitive with online prices as well. Highly recommend the practice!

I was charged 71 dollars for a routine eye exam, and that was after insurance paid what they could. Part of that was 50 bucks for a refraction which took only a couple of minutes, and I received no prescription. I let them know I was unhappy with that bill and canceled a future appointment. Indian Eye Clinic is much cheaper, and I will return to them next year. The bill was $320.00 before any insurance paid on it. That is too much for a simple eye exam.

It's very unfortunate that Lanter expires eyeglass prescriptions after a year. In the past I haven't gotten an eye exam yearly. My sight rarely changes. Generally every two years has been good for me. I needed to buy some glasses in an emergency situation while on vacation. I called Lanter to get a copy of the prescription and NOPE. Expired. You would think an emergency situation would have made some difference but military receptionist, now way.
I realize the Optimetrists need to get patients in as often as possible to increase their $$. The Recptionist claimed it was against the law to release a prescription that had been written in 2017. Indiana law states Optometrists can legally expire a prescription after a year. The law doesn't say anything about it being mandatory. Anyway, I got an exam in Sarasota, FL from a very competent and knowledgeable Doctor Of Optometry at SEE. Bye bye Lanter.

I had PRK done here a few months ago. After years of trepidation about the procedure and the cost, I took the plunge and wish I'd done it sooner. Dr. Lanter is great. I visited another, national chain laser eye surgery place before coming here, and wasn't able to meet with the dr's, and got that "hard sell" feeling. Not reassuring when you depend on your eyes for work and are thinking about letting someone zap them with a laser beam.
During the initial appointment here, Dr. Lanter sat down with me after his technicians met with me, and answered all of my questions, and provided some additional info on the type of machine used, how long it takes to heal from PRK (about 6 weeks compared to a couple of days with LASIK), and was easy to talk to and very upfront about the whole process.
I walked out feeling as though I knew all the potential risks and benefits, and as though my eyes would be in good hands. It's nearly six months later, and my eyes feel great. I've had very few problems with dry eye, and my vision has gone from about 20/800 to 20/15 - pretty phenomenal. There are several appointments before and after the process, so they can keep tabs on the healing process, and the staff is also good about getting back to me when I have questions about stuff like eyedrops and snorkeling. Plus, he's local (offices in Carmel, Greenwood, and CA - not exactly a national chain), which is always nice.
