The doctors were great. My boyfriend and I went to the Santa Barbara location and worked with Dr. Behrman. The surgery staff he was with during his surgery was fantastic, however the staff at the front desk in the main office needs more training or something needs to be changed there. Each one of those girls we spoke with were rude and seemed like they truly do not care to help.

I get being slammed with work and phone calls. I get being the only one on as others are to lunch. I'm in the healthcare field myself and I could NEVER imagine talking to patients the way they do and treating them the way they do. They were rude from the start and this office needs to do something about that. The low rating solely reflect their front desk and call operators as they seriously lack any kind of professionalism, kindness, helpfulness or customer service skills.

Train your front desk better to assist your patients as they're the first people your patients speak with and see, they shouldn't just shoo away people like they mean nothing or as if they're an inconvenience. The main office girls are pretty ridiculous and sad, specifically whoever is Elizabeth as she wouldn't even let me get a word in before she merged my call with another patients.

They have an office in Santa Barbara and one in Solvang. Dr. Rives is really good. No complaints there. However, one of the front desk people in the Solvang office has never been pleasant. This last time, I had arrived in pain, as I use a walker because I not only have an injured hand but also an injured leg. I was standing outside the door that they keep locked because they want to take your temperature in the foyer.

No one seemed to notice me, so I tapped on the door with my cane and waved my hands hello. I was trying to do it in a playful manner, but apparently she didn't like it because she was extremely condescending when she finally came to the door and wouldn't let up on putting me down. I expressed how I felt and she kept berating me. Then, after I finally got to sit down, I overheard her talking badly about me to a coworker for everyone in the waiting room to hear.

That was extremely unprofessional! I will not return to the Solvang office. The extra miles to Santa Barbara will be worth avoiding what has always been an unpleasant experience. I work with at- risk teens, so believe me when I say I'm an understanding person & have lots of patience. However, I'm done always having an unpleasant check-in at the Solvang office.

Just wanted to share my experiences. I'm 70 year old women and have lots of surgeries. I had hand surgery and from the time we arrived at 7:30 Monday morning on the 28th of March until I left a little after 10, I was made to feel so comfortable and they saw me. The nurse Jane who had to give me two IV, one in each arm was so nice knowing I have always had problems with IVs.

She was great and did them both on first try. So from being checked in to the nurses and the Er nurses and Dr Rives and his whole team, this medical establishment is first rate. Thank you so much for making an old lady feel so relaxed.

I don't write reviews for anything but went here for climbing related injury, doc was entirely unhelpful, barely even asked any diagnostic questions it was kind of ridiculous-I wouldn't go here for anything sports related. Technician said he had insider info that covid is a biochemical weapon made in a lab in China, so there was that too.

I visited them and met with a doctor who recommended my hand needed an MRI and that he would request one. After two weeks of having no contact, I called but they said the person who takes care of Insurance requests. Is out of the office but would call me Monday. Finally, I called Wednesday and nothing had be done. I left with a very soar hand and Im still waiting. Excuses but no reason for mistakes. Very unprofessional. Coming up on three weeks.

From the office staff to the doctors, simply the best and most caring ortho practice. After a traumatic shoulder accident, no one else could get me in for a month or so, so I resorted back to Doc Behrman who had reattached my thumb 20 years ago. They got me in the next business day, fully analyzed my situation, and realized I needed a trauma surgeon.

So they arranged for a CAT scan while I was in SB area, set me up with an appropriate hi tech sling, and then followed through by finding the right surgeon for me. Got in to that Doc the same week, surgery the next. This would not have happened otherwise, so TY

I feel like I have gotten excellent care from Dr Rives. He knows his field and is a pro giving otherwise very painful injections. I trust the doctor and always appreciate the friendliness in the offices (Santa Barbara and Oxnard) and the distracting banter from the staff. Thank you!

They are just decent, but the bedside manner / empathy are lacking. The support staff is really great, I will say that, I appreciate their help a great deal, especially with paperwork for disability & workers comp stuff. But. the male nurse doesn't pick up on appropriate social queues at all, like when a person is in pain & not in the mood for jokes.

The doc isn't much better. He literally spends at most just 5 mins with me at every appointment and has told me the same thing for over a year now, "let me see you back in 4-6 weeks and we'll go from there". I was hoping to be all healed up by now, I feel like I've done better on my own.

I really can't say enough good about Dr Rives and his staff. It was a very efficient process and everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I was in and out in 40 minutes and that included exam and x-rays as well as a cortisone injection.

I highly recommend Dr. Ruth. My two year son broke his arm and they were able to get him in on a friday before the weekend. The staff in Santa Barbara was amazing. We went to the follow up appointments at the Santa Ynez office and everyone from the receptionist, nurses, X-ray tech and Dr. Ruth were all wonderful! If we ever have another broke hand or arm we will absolutely be going back.
