First visit I waited over 3 hours and was diagnosed with a pretty bad ear infection and was only given 3 days worth of antibiotics. Of course that didn't work so back I went and instead they gave me drops for my ears instead of just giving me more antibiotics and of course that ALSO did not work. For my third trip back they were declining walk ins even though I had called the day prior and was told to be there at 8am. Woke up early, took the morning off from work for nothing. It shouldn't take 3 appointments for an ear infection.

I am a regular patient of South strand. I asked for covid tests to be done today. They turned us down. Must have had symptoms at least three days. My wife had been sick two days. We were just checking to make sure we didn't have it to protect others. It could be a head cold. Who knows. We are seniors. Any other place will test if asked for. Not this place. I have had it. I have been with them for seven years. It is time to move on. Don't waste your time here.

A joke. I wasted 4 hours in two days! I was told the doc who prescribes controlled substances would be in the next day. I had to come back, which was fine. The doc lectured me and said he'd give me nothing after he left me in that little room for so long! That in itself causes anxiety, especially since I was out of anti-anxiety medication, so I of course yelled at him!
Since the waiting room was empty when I left, and I had an appointment before the others did, I can only conclude that he chose to take care of the locals first. No one looked extremely ill either. *Update. All I had to do was call my regular doc. Everything is fine! Take that, Dr. Dumbeard! And to Nhikki, the office manager who doesn't know the difference between moot and mute, don't ask someone to call to explain their side, and then lecture them. It was all so unprofessional and ignorant.

Dr. Hunter is the best doctor I have seen in a while since moving here from Pennsylvania three years ago. It's refreshing to see a doctor who cares about me and understands me. He gets it! I would highly recommend stopping by and seeing Dr. Hunter if you are new to the area. Or if you live here all year. You won't be disappointed! Thank you Dr. Hunter for being there for me!

Dr. Vandergriff has been my primary care physician for 4 years now. You will not find a doctor with a better bedside manner than this one. He practices excellent medicine and TAKES TIME with his patients, versus other doctors in the area that rush you out of the room as quickly as possible. The staff at SSI has always treated me very well and have worked diligently with scheduling appointments for me or to get me seen quickly for critical care needs. I won't even consider going anywhere else.

Dr. Vandergriff has been my doctor and my husband's doctor for 6 years. We couldn't be more pleased with the care we get. He is the only one who has gotten my blood pressure under control and took excellent care of my husband's shingles. Dr. Vandergriff takes the time to listen and connect with you, not just hurry through the visit barely acknowledging you or look you in the eye like a lot of doctors out there. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a regular primary care doctor or for an unexpected emergency. If I could give him more than 5 Stars, I would!
