We offer various no-stitch cataract surgery treatment options, including femtosecond laser surgery, topical anesthetic, intraoperative OptiPlusTM ORA-assisted intraocular lens determination, Toric (astigmatism-correcting) implant lenses, and Multifocal lens replacement. Glaucoma laser surgery, including endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP) in conjunction with cataract surgery.
Cataracts occur naturally as the eyes age and a build up of protein causes a clouding of the eye's lens. By age 65 more than 90% of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery. Over time, the cataract may grow larger and cloud more of the lens, worsening vision. In addition, cataracts can result from exposure to toxic substances, diseases such as diabetes, or arise after an eye injury. A cataract can develop in one or both eyes and fortunately can be treated with a common and safe surgery.
Preventing eye diseases from ever forming is one of the best medical techniques we know of. And that's why we strongly recommend a routine annual eye exam. The annual exam helps us diagnose and treat normal vision changes. But it's also invaluable in detecting early signs of serious problems, like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and even brain tumors.
If you have impaired vision, it's highly likely we can correct the problem on an outpatient basis under local or topical anesthesia. The surgeon uses a very short wavelength laser to make the needed cataract surgery incisions. This technique is safer, more precise, and shortens the surgery time. Dr. Kilpatrick is one of the few ophthalmologists certified for femtosecond laser surgery.

I would highly recommend the Scottsdale Eye Physicians as I no longer take my vision for granted. As our eyes change with age, it's imperative to have yearly exams and to find a great vision group you will be happy to stick with as they value your vision health as much as you do. Don't cheap out on your eyes! You will truly regret it when you have problems and find out that Costco vision lost all your vision history, and they don't even apologize because you are merely a customer number not a person to them. Dr. Eyrich and Dr. Kilpatrick are excellent and highly regarded by many. You will so glad you switch to them.

An excellent experience for my annual eye exam. Christina, was very professional yet friendly. No nonsense eye cam and listened to my choices or changing views till I was satisfied with my choice of clarity. I couldn't be happier with the intake exam and process. Dr. Kilpatrick is always pleasant, professional and friendly. I've been going to that office for several years.

I was concerned about floaters in my eye and was afraid of what they might mean. I called Scottsdale Eye Physicians and was able to get an appointment the very next day. An exam was done and luckily the floaters are a natural part of aging. What a relief! From start to finish I was treated professionally and courteously. I have gone to Dr. Kilpatrick for many years. He is knowledgeable, very thorough and has great patient rapport. He will take time to listen to all questions and answer them. Most of his office runs smoothly, but seldom on time. Appointments always take longer than expected. The offices are beautiful and very clean.
