Any insurance information should be given to both places and you will receive a bill from both facilities. Our billing/insurance specialists will be calling your insurance company to check eligibility for your surgery/procedure and we recommend you do the same. Normally we bill your insurance company direct as a courtesy to you.
In accordance with House Bill 197, listed below are the rates for services performed at the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery. Operating Room charges are based on the complexity level, with level 1 being the most basic, for a particular operation There is an initial, set-up charge as well as an additional charge for each 30 minutes while the operation is being performed.

Make sure that you check that everyone that touches you is going to accept your insurance. When I spoke to IOS they told me that everyone was in my network. As it turned out everyone except for a company called Buckeye Anesthesia Services and Consultants LLC unknowingly was out of my network and it ended up costing me $613.69 out of pocket. Apparently this is for the nurse that took care of me before I went into surgery.
The surgery was in 2019 and it is 2022 and I just finished paying the bill off as I had to be placed on a payment plan. All my other costs were covered by insurance except for this one company. IOS would've gotten a five star review from me had they disclosed to this company to me before my surgery. That is the problem with medicine today. You go in for a procedure and 15 different companies are billed from the lab, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and the nurse who takes care of you before the surgery, etc, everything is separate now instead of paying one facility.

The staff that assisted in my surgery was great. The billing team sends multiple bills with different account numbers and I set up a payment on one of them and thought I was all taken care of and then received another bill and found out that I have different bills and when I asked if I could pay in full with a discount one said no and then the other said I could have had a discount if it was within a certain time frame.
Multiple bills from the same institute and one says yes to discount and one says no. Had I known it was 2 different bills it would have been taken care of. Because of billing I WOULD NOT recommend this. The doctor's are great but the billing department is TERRIBLE.
