I found dr GERSHANBAUM and staff very professional kind and thorough! Psalm 19:8 was given to me before surgery: 8 THE PRECEPTS OF THE LORD ARE RIGHT GIVING JOY TO THE HEART.THE COMMANDS OF THE LORD IS RADIANT GIVING LUGHT TO THE EYES. As soon as I took my patch off I saw the LIGHT! Thank you! dr GERSHANBAUM and team much appreciated! God bless you all Regards Maryann A

My mother is a patient there. She needed medication and it took 3 days for them to send the medicine to the pharmacy. They kept blaming the pharmacy, saying that they always drop the ball but I've been with that pharmacy for years and never had an issue. I kept having to call back and forth and had to push to escalate this just to get the medication.
On my mom's last follow up there was a balance owed otherwise they would not let her see the doctor. Her insurance covers everything 100%. The receptionist was less than helpful. I ended up calling them and explained the situation and the person I got on the phone said that it was done in error and that my mother can go see the doctor now. They still ended up sending us a bill!
I called the billing office TWICE and left voicemails and no call back whatsoever. I made an appt for myself and tried to call to reschedule it, waited on hold as "caller number 2" for 40 minutes before I gave up and hung up. They're impossible to reach. Not impressed at all. Unfortunately they're the only ones who take Medicaid so we're stuck with them.

I have tried to be patient with this group since the office is such a short ride from my home however, I am going back to prior provider regardless of distance. I do not want to get as granular as to 'bash' any one particular provider (there are multiple doctors there) however, one experience I had was a procedure that was surgical in nature, was scheduled, the office cleared with my insurance however, I was never informed of any such appointment or procedure having been scheduled and was notified the 'day of' by phone as to why I didn't show up!
The issue I had with my eye had resolved itself and the procedure was not necessary at that point. The last time I went recently for annual eye exam and check up with doctor for glaucoma, there were 22 people in the waiting room. I waited 45 minutes there and then another 20 minutes waiting to see the doctor.

I would like to take the opportunity to give my sincere thanks to Claudia (Technician) who's kindness and professionalism was paramount in making my office visit an outstandingly wonderful experience. In what was obviously a very high paced, high volume, and exceptionally busy office, Claudia's kindness, assistance, and most profound knowledge and expertise were a breath of fresh air to a senior like myself who is appreciative of this level of quality service.

I get a great feeling with the doctors and staff at Freehold Ophthalmolgy. Sometimes the wait is a little long, but it has gotten better recently. I especially like when Candace asks for my phone number and she calls you when they are ready to take you in for your exam. She has always been so curious and happy when you walk in the waiting room. Thank you everyone

I had 8:15 appointment this morning(01/19/22). Tech brought me into exam room at 8:30 for pressure test and then I waited. At 8:45 another patient who had 8:00 AM appointment with Dr. Qu asked when he would be seen by Dr. Qu. Patient was informed doctor was not in yet and was on her way in. I find this was totally irresponsible on the doctors part. I was very vocal about having to wait and left. I told the receptionist not to invoice me and and would not be back. The other patient left as well.

Publishing this for my mother who had the pleasure of dealing with Freehold Ophthalmology. My mom had cataract surgery and she had the pleasure of dealing with Tiffany. Tiffany was very efficient, understanding, knowledgeable and made her feel very comfortable during the process. She made the time to stay in contact with my mom to make sure that everything was going smoothly and that she was comfortable with all of her decisions.
If I had a questions she was more than happy to go over everything with me so I could feel comfortable. Tiffany is an asset to Freehold Ophthalmology and I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for everything she did. Sincerely, Martha Orlando

I've come here several times giving this practice a chance. I came here as a new patient because my past ophthalmologist (private practice) retired. I am a very patient person and from the very beginning when I came as a new patient I believe in 2018/2019 to the last time I was here around Oct 2020 (also my last decision to come here) I have had horrible experience.
My wait time has had ranged from 1 to +2 hours, I've switched doctors every time, the equipment is outdated, and they wrote the wrong prescription for my eye contact (instead of -10 they wrote -1.0!) so I had to come in again set up another appointment for another prescription change and fitting. In addition, there's one specific doctor that treated me rudely and said "I was reading the display wrong" and what I saw "Couldn't possibly be correct".
A year later I've switched to Costco regular optometry and they said "Yea, that right eye contact is definitely not the correct prescription but somehow they got the glasses correct". If you can avoid this place try to or give your complaints and maybe hopefully they can improve. I'll give 1 star because the receptionists and assistant techs are kind.

Being an independent senior citizen, I was was pleasantly impressed with the attention and care I was given from members of your staff. I would specially like to highlight Carolyn who showed patience, kindness and was warm and friendly. She was more helpful then most in a medical office. I also have had good experiences with techs Nikki and Dianna.

Been here several times for a couple of years with both of my parents pre covid. Had to come back during the pandemic with my parents. Both separate days and coming here you wouldn't know there's social distancing. Now my parents are not kids and they need to be extra careful. Sitting in the waiting room is totally wrong. My dad had eye drops to make his eyes dilated for a procedure he needs.
The doctor was running late again, but this time over an hour late. But even more insulting after the drops were put in they said we cannot stay in the examination room. I am now totally finished with this unprofessional office who books way more patients than they can handle. So if you have hours to wait then this place is for you!

Had to make an appointment 1 month in advance. Had to wait 1:40 minutes to be seen by a doctor only to be told that there were still 3 people ahead of me and that it would still be a while longer. What is the sense of making an appointment? The lack of respect for my time was appalling. I asked, what would happen if I showed up 1:40 late for the appointment? Would I be seen? They said no! So, their time is more valuable than mine? Will never go back.

I am so very grateful for Dr. Seema Patel, M.D. My husband was in need of the 'right' Doctor for his eyes. As a Parkinson's warrior, the needs for Doctors with compassion and understanding are a must. Dr. Patel displayed both of those qualities--in addition to her expertise, skill, positive attitude, confidence and passion for her job.
When I expressed concern about Rick having both of his eyes surgically modified for his cataracts, Dr. Patel assured me that she had completed this surgery before on Parkinson's patients and I was to be at peace with her ability. And I was. Today, a month following the second complication-free surgery, my husband can see. Dr. Patel's knowledge and know-how took his vision from 325/450 to 20/30. I will be forever grateful to have found such a wonderful Doctor. who I think should be my BFF too.

Awful wait times literally showed up 15 min early to my appointment and waited over an hour past my appointment time. You can't tell someone their appointment is at a certain time and have them wait for over an hour some people have lives and need to work. I was super unhappy and the people at the front desk are not helpful.

The Brick office has the worst office staff I've ever encountered. Doctor was pleasant, apparently performed my cataract surgery technically well, but would not listen to me when I said I couldn't see. I had to go elsewhere to have my eye corrected. Getting my records from here was a nightmare. Once they made me wait for hours and when I asked why I was still there after everyone else had been taken care of, I was told I had spelled my name wrong. Please spare yourself months of agony by going elsewhere.

The BEST doctors and staff you will ever want to trust your eyes with. I have been a patient of Dr. Naadi for years and I can't even think of words to describe her compassion and knowledge for what she does. From the moment you meet her she gives you the confidence that everything will be OK. I have Keratoconus and through all of my ups and downs from not knowing what to expect next to 3 surgeries and countless visits I never feel like I am alone.
The staff and office know you on a first name basis they remember everything you need and accommodate you in anyway possible. There has never been a time when I couldn't get help with a prescription, billing and insurance, appointments, or scheduling surgeries. Please remember when you make an appointment other patients may have an emergency and it can effect your waiting time.
Every patient is treated with respect and top care. If you are looking for a practice that takes the time to thouroughly examine you please do not hesitate to make this you eye dr. You will not regret your decision. You only have one set of eyes!

I would NEVER go back to this place again! I was told by one of the doctors that whoever did my cataract surgery did NOT remove all of it! Luckily, I decided to get a second AND third opinion! What I really had was wrinkled retinas and had laser surgery and I am so happy I went with my gut! The next nightmare was my husband trying to get a simple pair of eyeglasses with transition lenses!
He had his own frames and was told the lenses would be sent in 3 days. Well, 2 WEEKS later they came in the guess what? Wrong lenses! After another 2 weeks, she called my husband and told him to go over because they came in. He left immediately, 10 minutes away from us, and when he got there he was told there were 7 people waiting ahead of him! He lost $200.00 on his lenses but he will never go back. IF I WERE GOING BLIND AND THIS WAS THE ONLY EYE PLACE AROUND, I WOULD RATHER GO BLIND!

I don't have any problems with the physicians at Freehold Ophthalmology. Dr. Sushma Patel, who I've only seen once, was professional and patient with me. Sometimes I feel like doctors really try and rush you out of the office and hold back on the samples, but I'm glad she took her time with me. The front desk however, is in need of some work. Firstly, they have these sliding glass windows that they keep closed by default, leaving them to lean forward and slide them back and fourth once every other minute.
Why don't they just leave them open? Preeetttyyyy apparent that they don't have any interest in keeping an open line of easy communication with their patients. I see every other person come in, many of whom are senior citizens, and are confused with which pad to sign in on and where to go. If they stand by one of the glass windows, an office worker will sigh and begrudgingly get up to ask, "Can I help you?" We know we can just sign in and sit down, but sometimes we just want you to know we're there. It's satisfying. It'll be ok office ladies, you can make eye contact with us every now and then.
I know patients can be annoying, but it's your job. Most recently, I made an appointment, signed in and sat down. The office worker who was supposed to immediately take the pad was on break, so no one knew I arrived for 5-10 minutes. Not a big deal, but this is one of the reasons they should just have you sign in with a person. When I went, there were literally 8+ women working behind the desk. Also, I gave my insurance info (but forgot my card).
She said I wasn't under that insurance company. I called my employee health hotline and they confirmed that I WAS under the plan I originally thought and I relayed the info back to the woman. Turns out, she just needed my SSN. By the way, one of the women who works at the glasses store was kind of rude and refused to give me their their WiFi info.
I asked the receptionist and she gave it out without hesitation. Another annoying thing: Their website (www.freeholdeye.com) doesn't list their office hours. C'mon guys. Doctor's office website design 101. Lastly, I ordered contact lenses through that department's voicemail (because no one ever answers the contact lens line.they like as little communication with the patient as possible).
They called back to confirm which kind I wanted. Came to pick them up and they ordered the wrong kind. No apology on their end. Will have to wait another week for them and pick them up, since they don't deliver, even when the delay is their fault. Sigh. Might have to switch businesses at this point.

Love going to get my eyes examined there. Been a patient for about 5 years. They have provided the most detailed eye exam. The staff is always pleasant and the wait isn't long at all. The waiting room and examination rooms are spotless. Purchased many designer frames there, however recently they increased their prices so much that I will need to look somewhere else.
There select has also moved to more conservative glasses. I am told its a different company, the worker there is really nice though - I don't think she controls the pricing. Recommend eye exams there.
