I have been going to S.O.A.R for several years. I have seen Dr Gamburd and his assistant Debbie and both are simply awesome. Debie initially checked me in, a few minutes later she brought in my prescription list and we discussed what I was taking, as she was concerned about what prescriptions might be interacting with my potential treatment. Dr, Gamburd came in and off the top of his head knew what he and I discussed in 2015.
What it tells me he was fully prepared and cared about me as a patient. Most Dr's look at your record while in the room, he knew everything coming in. What impressed me, he was 100% correct. He took time to ensure he understood my current problem, made several posture recommendations that were very detailed that would solve my issue, but felt a PT would be helpful, not the first time I have heard this.
Even leaving he walked out with me, gave me several PT's to help me with my posture issue and had intimate knowledge of recommended PT's. If I could give this a 10, I would.

I'm used to their ridiculously long wait times, inability to reach anyone there, and problems refilling prescriptions. However, the latest debacle requires a review. As long as I've been seeing them, they've always been in-network (Blue Cross PPO). The day AFTER an appointment, I received a letter dated 6 days prior saying they were no longer in-network effective immediately.
I didn't get a call before my appointment. At my appointment, I did get a form to sign which highlighted simply that if I receive payment from my insurance directly, that I agree to sign the check over to the office. Their letter which I received the next day was very clear, unlike the form. It even said they'd work with me, but I've been charged over $180 for services I'd have paid absolutely ZERO (having met my annual in-network out-of-pocket maximum). Had they notified me before I came to my appointment, I'd have cancelled. Had they made it clear at the time I checked in that they were now out-of-network, I MAY have still had the $40 consult but certainly wouldn't have gotten trigger point injections.
I wrote a letter to my doctor asking him to consider writing this off (and resent it a month later), but it's gone unanswered. Meanwhile, the bills keep coming with the latest threatening to turn it over to collections. For a guy with chronic pain, the stress this has caused is hard to deal with. It could have all been avoided if they'd have simply called me before my appointment to let me know what was going on. Based on the date on their letter, they clearly knew.
But then again, communication has never been a strong suit of this office. Dr Bonzon himself was a pleasure to talk to and I had looked forward to continuing care with him. It's not worth dealing with an out-of-network provider and an office that has such poor communication practices.
