Westside Family Healthcare is a community-minded, non-partisan health center located in Delaware. We opened our doors in 1988 and have maintained our status as a Federally Qualified Health Center since 1994. We are a Joint Commission accredited health center and have been certified as a Primary Care Medical Home.
We provide services to adults, children, and families, whether you have insurance or not. If you do have insurance but it won't cover certain medical services, we're here to help with that too. Our mission is to care for you and provide important screenings, healthcare provider visits, tests, and more, regardless of your ability to pay.
We provide health services for you and your family at any age. Our Primary Care Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, and Hygienists help you and your family stay healthy (prevention), find out if something is wrong (diagnosis), and help them get better (treatment). Medical services are available at all five health center locations and include preventive routine visits, sick care, physicals, and immunizations.

I would rather rot away in my room than ever come here again. I cannot express enough how uncared and unheard I felt being here. Westside is a disgusting place and the providers are disgusting too. They are aggressive and don't respect boundaries at all. I hope they shut down every westside family healthcare there is. "welcome to westside family health care where we treat you well" treat who well? All of you are trash. Period.

Always an issue to get an appointment over the phone. scheduler recepcionist answering to then tell you let me transfer and wait times are ridiculous not to mention the fact that you tell the scheduler i dont want a in person visit but this is what THEY choose anyways it is not the first time they do this and i am now on hold with them since 3:42 (it is now 4:29) waitting for a link for my appointment. Trash and this will be the last!

I have been both a medical and a dental patient here for over 4 years. Everyone I have met is kind, compassionate and helpful. I receive better care here then I have in the past at private doctors' offices. As a patient, you are assigned a 'team' so when you go you see the same medical or dental provider. It is very personal service and I couldn't be happier. When I meet someone looking for a new practice, I always recommend Westside Family Health.

Westside Health completely dropped the ball today. Had a morning appointment and needed an RX before I went out of town. After speaking with them ALL DAY about the urgency of the situation (I haven't slept in 3 days & it's a sleep aid) I go to the pharmacy, watch the pharmacist check the messages and then tell me there's nothing there. After notifying Westside of this, the nurse calls me back at 7:30 pm with the "good news" that my Rx was ready.
Meanwhile I'm already traveling. And listening to the lies tumbling from the mouth of one of their staff, I stopped her & informed her that though it may not have been her, someone at Westside screwed me over and then tried to lie about it. I've personally recommended a minimum of 5 people to this center. No more.

Biggest mistake ever coming here. They claim to offer affordable sliding scale prices. They aren't upfront about any costs. We did not qualify for any sliding scale discounts, never got billed nor told the costs, and are now being socked with a nearly $700 bill. All I wanted was one visit + vaccines for my kid while I was uninsured waiting to get benefits from a new job.
They pull bait n switch too; they entice you with "free weight checks" then send a dr tailgating right behind you so now you're held responsible for a fulltime visit you'd never signed up for. What else.this office has made multiple stupid errors, they neglected to write a script for the reflux meds my child very obviously needed, they screwed up his lab test script after making empty promises that we would be accepted into some discount program with Labcorp that apparently doesn't exist, NP Jenn Burris is very unsupportive of breastfeeding and pushes unnecessary formula use, showing her cluelessness about breastmilk despite being a health professional, oh and here's the very best part!
If you try to switch practices, they can and will report you to child social services for being a negligent parent! What a degrading HUMILIATING experience I went through with that, by the way. Having to explain to multiple social workers that I'm NOT actually negligent white trash, that I was switching medical practices for my kid because Westside gave poor service, wouldn't prescribe him simple reflux meds, and were financially deceptive.
That I actually DON'T want to be charged $80/visit + God knows what (apparently $700 for 3 visits?), once my health insurance had kicked in and I had wider choice of providers willing to take me. By this clinic reporting me unmecessarily, they literally ruined a good month of my life and had me feeling like complete trash when I was doing the very best I could.
Advice to patients, when you want to switch, get it in writing that a new provider has taken over care for your child with a pre-existing condition, to avoid Westside making an embarrassing unnecessary case against you with social services. I will NEVER return to this clinic EVER again and neither will my money.

Worst clinic ever. I only went here because no other place would accept us when we were temporarily without insurance while waiting for my job's health benefits to start. It took a full month to get an appointment. They weren't upfront about costs, were very vague. They told me to bring a ton of past financial documents that were difficult for us to locate (due to very recently moving here fron out of state), to figure out which sliding scale payment schedule we'd be on.
I presumed I'd likely make too much to qualify for any discounts (correct), so I asked them what the income cutoff was, to save me the time of locating and printing financials if I was going to end up paying full price anyway. They wouldn't tell me, leading to exasperation and confusion on our end. I ended up being billed full price for visits but still no clue how much they're going to bill me for vaccines.
One of the 2nd floor secretaries is the hardest to understand. She talks super fast, doesn't say words correctly, and I can never understand anything she says. On our 1st visit, our child's measurements were misreported to us twice, once verbally (assistant later corrected herself) and again on our consult papers. NP Burris seems to be very pro-formula and anti-breastfeeding.
She told me to use formula instead of breastmilk, despite my having a very large reserve of breastmilk in my freezer, then told me medically inaccurate facts and advice regarding breastmilk. She also dispensed to me dietary advice that clearly showed she wasn't listening to me, telling me to start eating foods that I've already always been eating.
Wait times are rather long at times too. They offered us "complimentary" weight checks so that we'd want to come back, but would then pull a bait & switch by having an NP walk in afterwards, setting us up to be billed for a full price visit again. When complaining about the bill that's accruing, prepare to get told "but you don't have to pay right now." That doesn't negate the fact that you still have a debt though including charges not told upfront.
They never prescribed necessary medications and when I requested labwork be done, they sent me a script for invalid tests with a false promise that the tests' costs would be a lot cheaper. Lovely finding out the lab tests are unable to be run, after sitting at Labcorp for hours by the way. Every time we called this clinic to complain, we'd get put on hold.
When I complained about the one NP, they still told me her availability for the next appointment.after I just said I didn't want to see her again. It's been exasperating. During these visits, nothing was really done to rectify the medical issues; just wasted time and money and trouble caused. Avoid this place if at all possible.

Doctors are AWESOME. The doctors are very caring & concerned physicians. The only reason I have given one star, is because of the people at the top. Somehow administration thinks that it's possible for a doctor to deliver quality care in 10 minutes with a patient. I really feel sorry for the doctors working there, how can they possibly make a diagnosis and deliver necessary care in such time constraints?
