This new laser technology allows unparalleled accuracy in performing portions of the cataract surgery, including correction of astigmatism. The procedure is completely bladeless and offers a level of safety above traditional cataract surgery. Both Dr. Hendrix and Dr. Slade use this technology. Dr. Slade was the first fellow in the country, and one of a handful of ophthalmologists in the world, to begin using this laser.
Dr. Hendrix is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University where he met his wife, Kristyn, and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Art in History. He had the special opportunity of attending medical school at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Both Dr. Hendrix and Slade perform cataract surgery utilizing a unique technique that enhances the safety profile of the surgery and minimizes swelling and inflammation postoperatively. I had a minor eye surgery a few months ago and unfortunately a problem occurred and Dr Patel happened to be in St. George that day, in the surgical center, and familiar with what happened and saved my eye and sight. He credits it to good karma that he happened to be there and I say it was him. He will be my plastic surgeon to fix the corner of my eye after everything else is done and I can't think of a better doctor that I trust to do the job.
Such a caring and compassionate person and if any of his patients had to wait that day while he was saving my eye, thanks for sharing him at my time of need. I'm so glad to be one of his patients!

Dr. Marcos Reyes, MD at St. George Eye Center, is AMAZING! My 14 year old teenage daughter, had an eye emergency at 2am last weekend. Their person on call got ahold of him immediately and saw us. She had a corneal ulcer that could have led to poor vision for the rest of her life. She needed antibiotics and a pain killer. Any light coming into her eye caused agony and pain. The care was ok, my concern was the lack of mask wearing. St. George is blowing up with new Covid cases and hospitalizations. The only masked people during my visit were patients of a certain age. What a blatant disregard for patient and community safety and health! I will make the longer drive to SLC.

They only let you watch HGTV when you are in the waiting room. I'm not sure if maybe HGTV gave them the TV set so they will only let you watch HGTV or the lady at the front desk is a remote control Nazi and will only let you watch the station she likes the best. I hate that channel so I had to go out to the main lobby and wait. I told my roommate to find another eye clinic because I sure don't ever want to go back.
I told a friend about it and she said she noticed that at the Dr. surgery center off of Bluff they also only have HGTV on. I think its a HGTV conspiracy. Strange how an office staff can effect what Dr. you want.

My husband ended up with Dr. Behunin at St. George Eye Center "by accident, " after calling a wrong number. My husband was so pleased with Dr. Behunin being such a "a kind and nice guy, " as well as giving competent care for my husband's macular degeneration, that I went there to see Dr. Behunin myself for cataract surgery. I have had a wonderful experience at St. George Eye Center.
The office is very well organized, competent staff and short wait times. All three ophthalmology surgeons have impressive credentials. Previously, I had a very bad experience with a cataract surgery at another eye center in St. George. In the end my vision at the other place is near-sighted, with poor aftercare at the previous place. With Dr. Behunin, I had wonderful pre-care, surgery, and aftercare. Dr. Behunin is patient and kind.
He took the time to obtain and study my previous surgery records from the other place so that he could perform additional calculations to make sure he had my measurements correct. I believe he did a perfect surgery. My initial confidence in him was justified.

I want to give the doctor I saw. Dr Behunin 5 stars but the billing nightmare drops the rating. The office was clean, on time and I had a great exam. Dr. Behunin solved a problem I was having so I was so pleased. I have two insurance providers (via myself and my husband), so I rarely have to pay anything for an office visit because one pays 80% and the other picks up 20%.
The kept billing me a $45 co-pay? Neither of my insurance has this co-pay amount. I got my insurance on the line and they said they would pay but needed to be billed, and had never been billed properly. The office said it would be billed and it would be fine. 6 months later I get a collections notice for $45! My insurance said they we never billed and I would have just paid the $45 (even though it was not something I was responsible for) because I do not want collections over $45!
I think this is more a Revere billing problem? Our family has seen Dr Parry, who now is a revere provider and the billing changed there to and starting asking for deposits on pre-authroized surgery? I liked Dr. Behunin but I don;t know if I could deal with the billing stress to go back again.

I am so fortunate to have found this terrific eye center! Even though I am new to St George, they have treated me like 'family' from the very first phone call. The brand new office is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The staff are kind and understand and always make me feel at ease every time I visit. Both doctors that I've seen are very knowledgeable and have taken time to explain to me what is going on with my eyes. Overall, it was a great experience. My family and I will definitely be back for our future exams.

The best eye doctors and eye surgeons I've ever dealt with! Dr. Hunt said I had cataracts that were so bad that he was very surprised that I could even see! Dr. Snow Slade did my cataract surgery on both eyes, one week apart! Both surgeries were absolutely painless! The surgical team at the surgery center on Bluff Street we're very spot on, and very professional, beyond caring, and treated me with respect! At 60 years old, my vision in both eyes improved 100% the day after surgery! St. George Eye Center literally saved my sight! For that, I am very grateful!
