I brought my daughter to the ER because an abnormal cough and the doctor said that she was okay and that there are other patients that needed him as if my daughters health is irrelevant. After I pushed for him to do something they did an x ray. I waited for a result on her X-ray and no one came back with any information about it but instead a nurse came to the room just to ask what pharmacy I prefer.

I then asked for the results of the x ray and another Nurse came inside the room with a nasty attitude explaining the X-ray results, telling me to see the pediatrician and that the process will be a long one. No respect for patients, make you feel less important than others. I do not recommend this hospital.

The people here are unbelievably rude. Everyone. The woman at the front desk. The woman who gave me the ultrasound. The woman at the desk upstairs. The head nurse. The doctors of course are the worst of it. I had a such traumatic experience here. So much so that I went to an emergency room in another town to give birth. Rather than deal with the doctors and the staff in this hospital.

I would recommend yale-new haven, or danbury hospital if you want to be treated with respect. Oh, and a side note they make you share bathrooms with other women in labor. They actually sent me into a room where a woman was in active labor so I could pee in her bathroom. And they tampered with my medical file which was incomplete and had strange inconsistencies, this was mentioned to me by the hospital I actually gave birth in.

I have nothing bad to say about this office. I guess wait times on the phone can be really long sometimes. Other than that the front office staff and medical team are great. I originally came here only because it was a follow up from a Middlesex hospital stay. I liked the Dr and needed to find a Dr office in CT. I Transitioned from my Dr office in MA a little over a year ago and I'm glad I did. Dr Read is great, as well as any other Dr I have seen there. Not to mention the My-Chart app makes life much easier as well. I would recommend this office in a second. Thanks Dr. Read.

Went to this facility seeking medical attention after I woke up with my foot being completely numb, I was in excruciating pain. When I got to the facility the physician at the time went into the room and asked me what was going on and after I tell him he proceeds to tell me that I am a big person which could be part of why I am having sever back pain and that it should go away.

I received an injection and went home. The whole visit was less than 20 minutes. I received a $3,000 bill for this mediocre visit and when I reached out to pay the bill and expressed that I was not able to afford what the total was each month for a payment plan, I was told that it is what it is and that they are not a fast food place where a menu with prices is available to patients. Kimberly whom I spoke with at the billing office then stated that if I don't make the payments that they will send me to collections.

It costs $1,400 to just walk in just so that people are aware before going to this place. It is was another $1,400 if you get an injection. It's sad to think that this part of the reason people are turning away from seeking medical attention. This is sad. Worst hospital will never return even if it's life threatening.

Absolutely phenomenal! Had my daughter at Middlesex and my team was exceptional. Dr. McLeod was the doctor on when I first went into the hospital and Dr. Erica Smith was my delivering doctor, Dr. Mirante was my anesthesiologist who placed my epidural within 30 minutes of them ordering them, my nurses Megan G, Megan S, Golda and Sam Z. All of my nurses went above and beyond. Highly recommended!

This hospital is amazing. I went into labor almost 6 weeks early and had a very quick progressing labor and delivered within 2.5 hours of arriving at the hospital. The doctors and nurses made everything as comfortable as possible and made me feel at ease every step of the way. Particularly Dr. Morr and the nurse Denise were phenomenal in my delivery as well as my OB Dr. Bony.

Due to my little one being premature, she spent 12 days in the special care nursery. This is of course an incredibly stressful situation but it ended up being a very positive experience to look back on thanks to the wonderful staff. Golda, Courtney, Brynna, Kaitlin, Rhonda, Lauren, and a couple male APRN/PA staff (can't remember their names!) were absolutely incredible.

The staff treated my daughter like she was their own with such care and compassion keeping my husband and I informed every day and making sure we were never left with unanswered questions. The lactation consultants Tarin and Lisa were always around and checking in on my concerns (I had lots of them) and gave me as much help and advice as possible.

The social worker (I believe her name is Mary) also popped in to see me a few times and check how I was holding up. To top it off, the head of the nursery sat down and had a chat with me towards the end of my daughter's stay and also followed up with a phone call about a week later. I will forever be grateful for the exceptional care my family has received by Middlesex Hospital.

My Mom 97 years old brought in for pneumonia to CCU. 1st room in CCU Nurse didn't recognize she was in Afib until the nurse in the new room saw it on her monitor. They then said she was stable enough and moved her to yet another regular floor with telemetry after visiting hours were over and we weren't there. Called and spoke to the nurse to voice our concerns about moving her and that our mom was worried we wouldn't know where she was moved. Nursing stated appropriate level of care and Drs could run up if needed. Drs seem to be absent from the floor. Go to Yale don't bring your loved ones here there is little to no care.

From the information desk to the outpatient surgery department all staff were respectful and helpful. I needed an urgent procedure performed and the care was excellent. All the support staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and physicians were concerned for my safety and well being. Thanking all the staff for their assistance with this medical issue.

The Gift Shop is awesome. My relative is in-patient and I am out of state, feeling helpless. They explained some of the available gift options and then helped me pay over the phone, looked up her room number, and will deliver a phone charger and some flowers to her. The prices were very reasonable and the staff went above and beyond.

I rented a pump from the pregnancy and birth center and it was a frustrating process, to say the least. At my hospital in Tennessee, the process is so simple and all you do is show up at the lactation office, pay, take your pump, and return it when agreed upon. Nope not at middlesex. First off, the place is locked down like Fort Knox. Which is fine, but the lady at the front desk had a million and one questions for me and instead of just calling the birth center to let them know I was coming to rent a pump, she went through this whole confusing process that involved me waiting in the lobby for some time.

She kept telling the person on the other line I "had an appointment." I continually had to clarify that I didn't have an appointment but I had called ahead. Annoying. Anyway. I'm finally directed to the third floor. The unit secretary was very nice, but she had never done this before so it took some time to get the paperwork filled out. After doing the paperwork, I was sent back downstairs to the cashier's office to pay.

I paid, then went back upstairs with the receipt the cashier gave me. Then I was given the pump. Fortunately I already know how to use this pump so I didn't need any instructions but some guidance might be helpful to other lactating people renting a hospital grade pump. Pump worked great and the price was super affordable ($2.50 a day). My mom brought the pump back for me the day it was due.

She was first told she had to go to the cashier's office to get a receipt for the pump (do people usually return pumps they haven't paid for? This doesn't make sense), even though I had sent her with the receipt. The cashier told my mom that's not how it works, she's supposed to just bring the pump back. The lady at maternity said the cashier was incorrect.

Finally after being shuffled back and forth, my mom said "look, someone just take the pump." She was told the receipt I had given her was a rental agreement, not a receipt. But the paper I had given to her was given to me by the cashier. Whatever. The whole process was outrageous and unnecessary. My baby will be weaned by the time I'm in Connecticut again, but if I had a rent a pump again while I'm in state I would definitely do so from another hospital.

And not that this side note matters, but I was considering Middlesex as a potential place to have my next baby as we'll be back in state by then, but that's also not gonna happen judging off the incompetence of a simple breast pump rental.

I had to stay overnight because I had major surgery and they couldn't control the pain after. They DID NOT control my pain. The dr (not surgeon) wouldn't even give me IV Tylenol after he said he would. They left me alone for hours and checked on my roommate with pneumonia more times than I can count. After trying to get an advocate they also refused that.

I was not a hostile patient. In fact, I hate speaking up. I wish they would have discharged me as I could have controlled my pain better at home. I felt very stigmatized, judged and my mental health has really been affected by how poorly they treated me after a major surgery. They also called my other drs without consent or releases telling them false information and now it has ruined our relationship and she no longer wants to fully treat me.

If there was a way to give 0 stars then I would. This entire hospital is completely rude and unprofessional in every mannerism of the word. From ER to labor and delivery from Drs to nurses. I would never recommend anyone to come to this hospital for any reason at all!

I come in to the er. On sat morning at 1:00am for perfuvsive vomiting and the doctor in the er was horrible telling me I was in withdrawal and I wasn't nor do I use. The nurses blasted my veins 3 times trying to get a line in, with the ultrasound. Then they discontinue my med the only one helping me without letting me know. Don't come here ever if you don't have to.

Extremely disappointed in the patient care here. Came in after a bad head injury followed by headache and puking for my 7 year olds son. Their digital estimated wait time was 35 mins which was completely inaccurate. We waited for over 3 hours before a doctor would see us. As soon as they said my sons symptoms were indicative of COVID, they treated us like the black plague.

They acted annoyed when my sweet 7 son was asking for Motrin because his head kept getting worse. Nurse was very rude and said "nope I'm not doing anything until the doctor orders it" and was frustrated with me when I asked when we may see the doctor (now going on 2 hrs 40 mins of waiting) I said I was concerned because he puked so much and was getting very lethargic and was hoping for ice chips she said once again "nope " in a very orated mood. She was rude and very disrespectful to me and my son. You don't feel like a patient here, you feel like a burden of a body.

Brought my husband to emergency room, a lot of people waiting, not one person was bought in a long span of time, one person was having a hard time breathing and was treated rudely by the receptionist and was totally ignored by other staff members. I know that I don't understand the situation and maybe there was a reason why she was left out there and ignored but when you have other people around you're setting an example for what's going to happen when it's their turn. I believe we all matter and should be treated with respect in a difficult situation

I am from Middletown and this is hands down the worst hospital I've ever been to. The nurse told me he didn't have a "cat scan in his eyes" when I politely asked if he had any at home suggestions after telling me I'd have to wait a minimum of three hours to see a doctor. I waited four hours and not one person was seen. The nurses here are always rude and miserable. It never fails.

Can someone help me understand why this hospital doesn't perform ultrasounds? I'm asking because a loved one of mine recently went to the ER for heavy bleeding and severe uterine pain that left her in tears! Rather than perform an ultrasound at the ER, she was told that she should schedule an appointment with her doctor to have an ultrasound performed. However, the doctor was the one recommended my loved one to go to the ER. Needless to say, we were all left confused and highly disappointed. Also, while we were waiting to be seen by someone, another patient was going into shock and vomiting.
