D.O.'s use hand-on treatment (OMT) to diagnose, treat and even prevent illness and injury. At Corrective Care, we believe there's more to good health than the absence of pain or disease. We focus on prevention by gaining a deeper understanding of your lifestyle and environment, rather than just treating your symptoms.
Chronic pain that has failed to respond to standard medical care or mainstream medical treatment. Bridging the gap between mainstream and complementary medicine, Dr. Cantieri successfully blends traditional medicine with progressive treatment procedures to obtain positive results on a consistent basis - often reducing the need for other, more costly treatment options.

Corrective Care is an Osteopathic Medical Practice that focuses on diagnosing and treating chronic medical conditions and pain problems. Osteopathic medicine offers you a different approach to health care - and the difference can be important! You may not even be aware that there are two types of complete physicians in the United States.
Osteopathic physicians are fully licensed physicians who have Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degrees. D.O.'s have completed four years of undergraduate education, four years of osteopathic medical school, and three to seven years of post-graduate training in their selected area of medical specialization.
If you are like most people, you've been going to a doctor ever since you were born, and perhaps were not aware whether you were seeing a DO (Osteopathic Physician) or an M.D. (Allopathic Physician). You may not even be aware that there are two types of complete physicians in the United States. While Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.s) and Medical Doctors (M.D.s) in the United States are alike in many ways, D.O.s bring something extra to medicine.Plus, both predoctoral and postdoctoral training programs include osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT).
Dr. Mark S. Cantieri, graduated from Creighton University in 1978 with a degree in psychology. He obtained his degree in osteopathic medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1981. He completed a Fellowship in osteopathic manipulation in 1982 and then served a rotating internship in 1983.

I was referred to Dr. Cantieri for neck/shoulder pain. I explained to him during intake that I had one or more pinched nerves in my neck that were radiating pain down my arms. He replied, "I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you. That's referred pain from your shoulder." Three months and 2k (out of pocket) later, after little to no relief, my wife went ballistic on him, and convinced him to order x-rays.
My last interaction from his office was a message that I had spinal stenosis and needed an MRI. The MRI, along with an EMG, and eventually microscopic observation, confirmed that I have extensive damage to my cervical nerve roots, requiring major surgery and a different PT treatment. So, basically I spent three months in pain and spent the remainder of my savings because Dr. Cantieri is too smart to listen to his patients or use diagnostic tools that have been around for a century.

As a dentist who has limited my practice to treating TMJ dysfunction and Airway disorders, I have been fortunate to learn from Dr. Cantieri many times through continuing education courses that he has given. Dr. Cantieri is one of the few doctors that spends time getting to the origin of his patients problems and actually works on fixing the problem as opposed to short term remedies.
His rehabilitative, therapeutic approach makes him truly unique and special. If only we could clone him and disperse him throughout the country, we would have healthier, better functioning people. I highly recommend anyone who has pain and wants to avoid future surgery to schedule a consultation with him to find and treat the root cause of the problem.

It's clear this entire office has every patient's best interest and I would recommend Corrective Care to anyone! Not only is the office staff sweet and so willing to help, Dr. Cantieri is an incredible and kind-hearted physician who takes time to understand your issues and does everything he can to make you feel comfortable and relief. What I thought was a little fall turned into terrible back pain and Dr. Cantieri was able to help me function again after my first appointment.

I was severely injured from a car accident. I could not sleep at all with all sorts of body problems resulted from the car accident. When I gave up on having a normal life, I met him. My wish back then was not feeling extreme pain just for one minute per day because my extreme pains were constant. My past symptoms include constant retching, vomiting, involuntary body movements, extreme headaches, high fevers, etc. you name it.
I could not even sit so I was in my couch (because I could not even be in my bed) most of my time. Now I can run again, work again, thanks to him. Thank you, Dr. Cantieri for curing me.

Dr. Cantieri is one of the smartest men I know. He takes all pain issues very seriously and will make sure you not only understand your injury but also your options for treatment. My injuries are quite severe so I am seeing a couple of doctors he has recommended who have become involved with my treatment plan. This is such an admirable trait, where if he's stumped, he has no problem delegating or involving another specialist to assist with the treatment.
He and his staff are kind and very compassionate(Carmen and Deena) and if you are having a spasm or whatever the ailment may be they will do everything in their power to get you in ASAP! Where as other doctors could care less and just tell you to go to the ER until they see me in 2 months. So not cool! It is hard to get in so a referral from your primary physician is recommended.
I hope this helps for any of you who were still on the fence. Money is not his motivator, understanding your problem is. Developing an effective pain treatment plan is his utmost passion. His treatment plans consist of how to resolve pain and not how to live with it using opiates. With the exception of his 1911 he enjoys so much in his free time, your care is his primary focus.
