Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) - When a person's breathing involuntarily stops for brief periods during sleep, that is OSA. Air should normally flow smoothly from your mouth and nose to your lungs at all times. When you stop breathing, it is called an apnea or an apneic episode. The symptoms of OSA include snoring and long periods between breaths.

This office doesn't retain integrity to honor there payment arrangements. I have insurance through my employer but I still received a bill for over 1,500 dollars. I had no clue I was going to receive separate bills from them totaling that amount. They where very dishonest about the agreement they made with me pertaining to the payment arrangement.
Once the bill one under five hundred they quickly turn it over to there partnering collection agency "Capital Collection Agency llc". I wasn't even a full week late. Its too late for me to choose another office but if your someone considering using this office be aware that they well quickly turn the account over to collection without notice and no circumstances will they reverse it. Good luck. I hope I was able to help someone make a better choice

Horrible customer service. Speaks to patients as if they are beneath them. The individual who runs the payments makes careless mistakes then turns accounts over to collections without contacting the patient to identify the source of the issue. When we called to determine the issue, we were talked to recklessly and hung up on. Another representative called me back to try to rectify the situation.
At that point, we were completely done with this "medical provider" and elected to no longer patronize them. Canceled my husband's future appointments with them and made an appointment with another sleep clinic with better reviews. The new sleep clinic is not in network for us, BUT we'd much rather pay out of pocket and be treated with respect. In response to owner: The issue was never the amount covered by insurance.
The issue was the lack of communication AND unprofessionalism. The fact that your response denies that my experience ever took place ("our staff would never end a call") only solidifies my experience regarding your unprofessional staff. Had the call never been ended abruptly and rudely, another staff member would have never called back to apologize and attempt to rectify the situation.
My review stands as previously stated. If I could have chosen ZERO stars, I most definitely would have. Your establishment is in the healthCARE field, and shows absolutely no CARE in regards to interpersonal relationships with your patients. I would recommend a customer service training course/overhaul for the entire staff. Including you. In addition, your response to other patients on this platform further depicts your unprofessionalism.
I'm honestly appalled. All of these people who don't know each other couldn't not possibly have fabricated all of these similar experiences with your clinic. Clearly Somnus Sleep Clinic is the issue!

I suggest you try, literally, ANYWHERE else first. I had a take home apnea test that ended up costing me almost $500. What? I administered the test myself. How hard can it be to analyze the results? Speaking of, the results were, "You don't have apnea." Then, she suggested I get tested for narcolepsy even though I have no symptoms of it. None. It felt like a way for them to get more money.
Aside from the price, I had to go to the office four times. The first time was for the initial consultation. Since they didn't have enough equipment for their patients, I had to return another day to pick it up. Then, I had to return another day to drop it off and one more time for the results. The equipment should have been available at my appointment and returned on the day of the results.
Better yet, they could have let me go by and drop it off and gave me the results over the phone instead of charging me almost $200 for them. I've never had a doctor charge me for results. They always charge for care or services. Such a waste of money.

Terrible experience and billed incorrect amounts. Sent to debt collectors within a month?!?!? I was beyond upset. *Edit - I saw the response from the owner, and I wanted to mention that based on all of the other reviews, it is no shock that all I received was a list of excuses. Do better. because it seems that everyone else's experiences have been relatively the same as mine (awful). Just do better.

I should have paid attention to the previous post. I took the home test which indicated I need a CPAP machine. I picked it up and had trouble with the amount of pressure flow. I called Somnus to ask that they adjust the pressure. The CPAP provider is a local company and would have been a simple task for Somnus. I was required to make appointment and go in.
I was informed by Jackie that Mr. Westerfield (owner) does not make returned calls to patients. Somnus is very difficult to deal with! Well long story short. I had my records transferred to ST D Sleep Clinic today instead on making another appointment for something that could have been taken care of over the phone. One other thing Somnus and Sleep Link are owned by the doctor at Somnus. So you get the same treatment at Sleep Link. My advise see St D Sleep Soultions and by all mean go to Home Town Medical for your CPAP and Supplies.

I was referred to this clinic by my physician after I expressed symptoms of daytime fatigue after getting a full night's worth of sleep. The initial assessment consisted of general questions (i.e. height, weight, caffeine usage). After the assessment, the NP on staff stated that my insurance provider did not cover the in-house sleep study; it would only cover the take-home machine test.
I was tasked with taking the sleep-study home so the machine could record my results and they could analyze the data upon receiving the machine. She prefaced this task stating the machine produces false-positives and it was not a reliable tool to use on most patients. The premise we decided was that if I were to have trouble sleeping with the machine (which I did) then to return the machine the next day and they could write to my insurance provider stating that I had issues with the take-home study therefore needing approval to participate in the monitored/over-night study.
The NP stated that insurance providers would cover the in-house study only if the client were to have issues with the take-home sleep machine. I wore the machine at home no longer than 15 minutes and returned it the next day stating that I could not sleep properly and removed all elements from the machine. The next week I received a phone call from the administration office asking, "Where would you like to purchase your sleep apnea machine from?
Our machine recorded 3 hours of data from your take-home study." I immediately informed her that it was not accurate for I only wore the machine for 15 minutes; she seemed puzzled. The next week I received a bill for $50 dollars for the processing of the inaccurate data. I tried to dispute the charge but they informed me that regardless if you say you only wore the machine for fifteen minutes, "we have to go by what the machine says; and it says it recorded three hours." I reluctantly paid them just to get the process over with.
I am sure that they are skilled at what they do but the petty misuse of bureaucratic order prevented me from resolving my daytime fatigue. I would caution future patients to choose this clinic and to vet other options even if it is slightly more.

Pleasant I had a really pleasant experience. My snoring was out of control. I would wake up tired, as if I had had no sleep at all. Went online and found out about sleep apnea. I had all of the symptoms. Made an appoint with Somnus, found that I had sleep apnea, got fitted after a few visits. Was very disturbed by the number of times that I would stop breathing.
I had no idea. Anyway, I'm now sleeping through the night and I don't have to get up as much through the night to go to the bathroom. Everyone I've encountered has been professional.
