Fracture of the heel bone that is related to landing very hard on your heel from a fall(calcaneus fracture). Your health care provider may recommend other treatments, depending on the cause of your heel pain. Maintaining flexible and strong muscles in your calves, ankles, and feet can help prevent some types of heel pain.
Corns and calluses are thick layers of skin. They are caused by repeated pressure or friction at the spot where the corn or callus develops. The thickening of the skin is a protective reaction. For example, farmers and rowers get calluses on their hands that prevent blisters from forming. People with bunions often develop a callus over the bunion because it rubs against the shoe. If poor fitting shoes are causing the corn, changing to shoes that fit better will help get rid of the problem most of the time.
If you have diabetes, your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. Over time, this can damage your nerves or blood vessels. Nerve damage from diabetes can cause you to lose feeling in your feet. You may not feel a cut, a blister or a sore. Foot injuries such as these can cause ulcers and infections.
To avoid making the hammer toe worse, wear the right size shoes or shoes with a wide toe box for comfort. Exercises may be helpful. You can try gentle stretching exercises if the toe is not already in a fixed position. Picking up a towel with your toes can help stretch and straighten the small muscles in the foot.

Doctor knows what he's doing. It's shameful the ladies at front ruin the experience. I'm gonna give this place 2 stars the ladies in front are rude, with nasty attitude and treat you as if you are ignorant. Another thing that I didn't appreciate is that the lady started to talk to me in Spanish assuming I speak Spanish after I told her English please. I'm Filipino not Mexican.
From other reviews you can see the doctor is not the problem. The staff that he has is what is gonna ruin the business. I hope they take measures to correct this. Will see next visit.

Ok so this place was having a hard time understanding me say quite clearly n slowly "The letter W, the number 7, etc " for my insurance card and so I got an idea n became excited n asked if I could jus email thm a copy of my insurance card so that way they would be able to actually see it instead of continue w the ridiculous interaction that was takn place.
Suddenly the lady goes quite rudely, " Ma'am, if yer going to co tiniest yelling at me I'm going to have to hang up on you whn I wasn't yelling At her! I even told her, "Ma'am, I am not yelln at u, I jus got an idea don't put words into my mouth that aren't there. She said good bye you hav a nice day! I said again, "I am not yelln at u ma'am I haven't yelled at u at all since we've been on the phone, yet the one who kept saying u couldn't hear me so thn she changed it to I was raising my voice to her!
Well whn someone is telln u they cannot hear u what do u do? U slow down n raise yer voice slightly but I wasn't sitting there on the phone yelln at this self imposed victim like it was the thing to do. She jus didn't want to deal w me nor the many questions I had for her n wanted out so she used this route as a way to hang up on me. I hav nvr been hung up on by a PROFESSIONAL business before I am 40 yrs old n kno how to conduct on a simple telephone call where it is the office personnel's job to answer all of my questions and deal with any problems that arise.
So before she hung up the phone on me I lost my temper n called her a bitch because she jus refused to deal w me whn I was referred there by my doctor. I thought about it n called back asking for a manager who was even worse thn the 1 at! She yelled she spoke over me she said the lady was nothing but nice to me because she was sitting right there listening to ever I asked is this an actual manager or jus a friend covering a friend?
Because u aren't allowing me to get a word in edgewise. And she said "I am the manager I thn asked for her name n her manager which she refused to give me either no r the name of the lady I initially spoke to whn u are sposta giv that Information whn asked for it. Thn she too hung up on me so I called back for another manager n they sent me straight to vmail over n over more thn 15 times thinking I'd nvr kno or learn their location therefore never learn the names of the staff who works there.
Well I spoke to 3 or 4 diff ppl on sept 2nd so it had to be most of the staff workn that day n all this because someone havn a bad day who hates their job or doing their job sis t want to deal w my 20 questions n couldn't understand the letter j the number 7 the letter g the number 1 etc." didnt want to deal w me? And thn had someone cover for thm?
The second lady I spoke to said whn she told me to say n as in Nancy I said well that's hard for me but I'll try to do it. I have every right to say it the easiest way that doesn't confuse ME or inconvenience ME the patient instead of THEM the PATIENT PAID WORKERS! Am I right or wrong for expecting a great above n beyond experience from the receptionists in a professional business but am accused of yelling at her first which I put on God himself I didn't even do!
They ruined my day my appointment wasted my time gave me the run around n thn refused to give me their names n kept hanging up on me if I could say anythn to the drs there I'd tell thm their chasing customers away at alarming speeds because I can't be the only one w a bad experience due to this place only havn 3 stars to begin with. Wow. Jus WOW!
What amazing ppl over there the entire lot of thm outdo each other on unprofessionalism. You couldn't PAY me to work w these ppl, they are the definition of garbage. U have to remove thm daily or they'll stink yer entire place up. If that's jus the office I wonder how bad the dr is. Or if he even knows how his staff treats ppl actually.
He needs to read our concerns n hire an entire new staff to take out the garbage that's interrupting his business. Because it's jus a reflection on him. And so far he's not lookn very good. Horrible horrible place I wouldn't even recommend to an enemy let alone a friend or relative. You ppl kno who u are n refusing to give me yer names wasn't going to stop my yelping post to warn others of yer horrible habits. U can all go to hell.

What a fantastic staff Dr. Neil Marek employs. His knowledge and pleasant demeanor is the reason I drive 30 min. To his office. His office is clean and very professional and his medical care always return my feet to pain free status. I work on my feet 5-7 days a week so I appreciate speedy recovery. Thank you for excellent medical care Dr. Marek. I highly recommend his business.

I went in here for heel pain I had too much pressure. So I tell the doctor all this and he wraps my foot and says "wear this wrap for 2 days then I'll see you in 2 weeks". Walks out and that's it. My pain was bad, so I went to the good feet store where they immediately had me walking right in minutes and the heel pain is gone. This foot doctor just wants to charge insurance and leave you in pain, why would I want to come back in 2 weeks when I need a fix now.

Been here twice once as a kid and again 4 months ago. It seems this place charges for everything I was charged 25 as a co pay, then 80 for some patient crap (even though I'm not a new patient), 30 for some unnecessary X-rays (I say unnecessary because the dr already knew what was wrong), and lastly 40 for some strap tape? Seriously the bill is ridiculous on top of the prescription. This is the reason why I hate going to any doctors office it's like they'll suck you dry even with insurance.

I have been going to get my feet worked on by Dr Merak for about 6yrs now. He always does a great job, from taking care of my ingrown toe nails to fitting me with corrective inserts, even shaving down my callouses. The front staff is always nice and friendly. The only downside is the waiting room is small

Never going back again! Haven't had a planters wart in years, I noticed something underneath my toes and was unsure if it was a wart or callous, it was extremely painful so I assumed wart and decided to make an appointment with them. I have an HMO and my insurance is only covered in my home state, this place seemed to have the cheapest price for a visit for someone without insurance(150 or 200 dollars I believe) it beat a plane ticket back home to visit with my dermatologist. Followed my GPS, and when I turned into the facility I thought my gps had given me incorrect directions.
The place was in a shady looking area, places had bars on windows, they had a small parking lot and the sign for their business looked old and letters were falling off. I hesitantly walked inside to see a rude and unprofessional looking medical assistant on the phone, not even acknowledging my presence except to glance and look away while 2 other nurses or assistants sat in the room as well, not looking up to notice me either.
And by unprofessional I mean 6 inch long blinged out nails and huge gold hoop earrings, that really isn't something I have ever seen in a healthcare setting in my entire life. When she finally got off the phone about 3 minutes later I was handed paperwork that I had to fill out, when I finished, I handed it back to her, all I received for a reply back was, "okay".
Not an, "okay, thanks, the doctor should see you shortly". So. I sat there for a half hour in this tiny waiting room, questioning myself multiple times if I should leave, wondering if this place was even safe or legitimate. Is the doctor even a doctor, are the nurses even nurses? Right as I was about to leave a nurse called my name. When the doctor came into see me he seemed very cold ( no smile or handshake like I'm used to from doctors) like he really didn't care, just wanted to hurry up, deal with my problem as soon as possible and get me out the door.
He didn't seem to know if I had a callous or wart either but he froze it anyway. Told me to come in about a month and see if it was gone or not. I'm sorry, I don't have 400 dollars to just throw at a doctors office to see if it went away or not. And also the wart did go away, so why would I spend 200 on an appointment just to have him look at it and say, "yeah it's gone". Overall, I felt like they were rude and unprofessional and maybe I was treated even more like crap because I was viewed as an uninsured patient that really didn't matter to them.
