Our practice is located about 6 miles north of Annapolis, Maryland in Severna Park, a suburban community on the northeastern shore of the Severn River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Our providers specialize in Internal Medicine - the general healthcare of adults. We provide treatment for such common conditions as diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, acute conditions like sinusitis or respiratory infections, as well as preventative care.We share the "antiquated" belief that good medicine cannot be practiced in a five-minute office visit and believe that the extra time spent with patients helps us avoid ordering excessive testing and prescribing unnecessary medications.

Dr. Elaine Arata attended the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 1980 and achieved the certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine in 1994.
Dr. Elaine Crain is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 17 years of primary and urgent care experience. She was an emergency room and critical care nurse; and served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Leadership and Legislation from Frontier Nursing University, KY.
Dr. Elaine Crain, nurse practitioner, has been a certified medical examiner since 2014 and her number is 9390863715. Please note that insurance does not cover this exam and a payment of $105.00 is due at time of visit. Blood pressure must be under 140/90. If you are currently taking blood pressure medication, remember to take it the day of your exam.
We now offer Telehealth Visits. Since Mid-March, Medicare and all major insurers cover Video Medical Appointments, just as they would a regular office visit. To schedule a Telehealth visit, simply call the office and arrange an appointment like a normal visit. You will need one of the following to make this work: an I-phone or Android smartphone, a laptop computer with a built in camera, or a desktop computer with a camera attachment. We will be able to use Facetime, Skype, Zoom or other platforms to conduct the visit.

I called to make an appt with Dr. Eliane Arata. I did my research and saw that she had great reviews. I reached a friendly receptionist by phone. I was told at the time that Dr. Arata was not accepting new patients that this time. I was disappointed but I asked if any other female doctors was accepting new patients? I was told there was 2 doctors HOWEVER I would need to be apart of the their concierge program.
I inquired what that was and found out that I would have to pay $1800 out of pocket to the practice. In exchange for my $1800 I would receive longer appt. times, the doctors cell phone number, a longer physical and a few other amenities. I have good insurance but this fee is not covered by insurance. This sounded insane to me. I first thought she was kidding but then I realized she was serious.
This is CRAZY and to me its a way to wean out low income patients. These medical practices are moving toward these type of services to drain the pockets of hard working Americans. Why get in the medical field if all your interested in is money. At first I actually thought about doing it but then I realized do I want to be apart of a practice that is only geared toward people who are willing to pay $1800 for special treatment. Sounds like a way for the wealthy to ensure they go to the doctors with people who look like them. Luckily I was able to find another primary care doctor was AMAZING and I still have my $1800.
