Orthomed Center Dr. Cash recently did a total hip replacement for my left hip and prior to surgery he went over the whole procedure. Dr. Braaton treated my grandmother who suffered from dementia with respect and dignity. He thoroughly explained her injury and provided multiple options in a clear and compassionate manner. I was having trouble with my right foot, I had already seen a specialist about it. I was talking to one of his patients, my brother in-law, and he told me before I do anything I should really come talk to this guy, and that's what I did.

Dr Braaton is a great doctor. He is willing to listen to all my concerns and answers all questions. The nurses are very attentive and take care of all your needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Braaton and his staff.

I was sent here for a achilles repair. The first appointment was fine. Surgery was scheduled for the following month. The day of my surgery I was made to wait two hours longer because Dr Braaton decided to go to a meeting before doing my surgery. I was upset and the hospital staff was as well because we were all just waiting on him. Surgery was performed and my stitches were removed after six days.

My wound immediately opened up and I was placed in a cast. One week later I get an infection. I called to express my concerns knowing that there was something wrong. After leaving messages with no response I asked to speak with the supervisor. That infection was taken care of and then I got a staph infection as well as a tendon hanging out of my wound. Dr Braaton had to reopen the wound to clean it out.

My follow up was supposed to be seven days later but they couldn't see me until ten days later. The follow up was a joke. Back office staff was going to remove my stitches without gloves on and then she decided to get a coworker to look at my wound because it wasn't healing right. The second lady came in only to squeeze my wound with no gloves and say that drainage is normal.

I left the office with my stitches intact. Wound care is now taking care of my wound. I can't believe this place is able to operate like they do. Once you start treatment with this place no other doctors will see you. It's been a nightmare for me. Save yourself some grief and go elsewhere. The staff is awful. Calls don't get returned.

The doctor spends two minutes with you. You wait for at least a hour to be seen. You will be lucky to get a cast that doesn't rub your leg raw because it was so poorly done. If you need help you will be treated as if you are bothering them. I could continue but I think I've said enough. Beware.

I would definitely recommend the doctors. Dr. Purnell and his P.A. Marco are skilled professionals and advised my son properly about the risks of surgery, and alternatives to surgery. My son ended up opting to get PCL reconstruction surgery in 2019. Surgery went well, and as scheduled. It was a very long recovery of which is he was advised of prior to the surgery.

Sometimes the wait times for appointments were longer than expected. My only gripe is the lack of professionalism in the front office. Clearly there are some unhappy employees that need to move on.

I have been to this office before and had positive experiences. This time around, however, has been a nightmare. My daughter tore a ligament in her ankle and she is an avid dancer. When she was placed in a boot and it didn't help her symptoms, I left voice message after voice message which was not returned by the office staff. I finally showed up in the office and she was treated and placed in a cast.

We made an appointment for a follow up visit to hopefully to have the cast removed. On the day of the appointment, the front office staff called me three hours before the appointment to cancel it, stating that Marco would not be in that day. I was told that I could not have an appointment until the following Monday. I will need to cancel my schedule for Monday at work in order to take her now. Additionally, I have a brokenhearted daughter because her dance recital is next week and an office staff member who is not medically trained told her that she would not be able to dance even if she had been able to get her cast off. Marco also recommended an MRI of her ankle, which he initially forgot that he recommended and did not order.

When he did order it and the insurance put up a stink about authorizing it, the staff did nothing to advocate for my daughter or help get the authorization pushed through. To this date she has not had an MRI of her ankle. I'm writing this review in hopes that other people will not make the same mistake I did and become a patient at this practice.

Do not go here if you can avoid it. From the receptionist to the surgeon, they are a complete wreck. Your appointments won't happen on time, the receptionist is rude, you will be put on hold so long that it is faster just to visit in person, you will be billed incorrectly, your surgery will be late or postponed, if you're lucky enough to see the Doc before your surgery, he will BS you just as much as the physician's assistant.

Go somewhere else. I broke my clavicle on my bike. It was a bad break. Attempts to get it fixed right away never got submitted and too much time passed for surgery so i just tried to let it heal naturally. 6-7 months later and im having pain so i went in for a second attempt to have surgery done. i got it scheduled this time, but 6 days before surgery i meet with the doctor for him to unconvincingly tell me surgery MAY or MAY NOT fix the problem and practically talked me out of it. Thats an expensive maybe. I also made half a dozen attempts to get them to tell me how much the surgery was going to cost, not one of my phone calls were returned.

I was referred to Dr. Paul Braaton by Doctors Hospital because I fractured my ankle. I called to get an appointment and the receptionist who answered was so rude, it sounded like I was disturbing them. I provided the wrong doctors name from the document I had and she said, "We don't have anyone by those names?" in a very demeaning tone. I finally gave them the right name (Paul Braaton) and she transferred me.

No one answered and I left a message. The message stated if I did not receive a call within 48 hours to call the receptionist again. I called the following day and the receptionist who answered was once again rude. She transferred me and I left another message. This is now the third day and no call was returned to me. Thankfully I googled another Orthopedice (receptions was very nice!), Dr. Eric McMillan in Turlock (on E. Hawkeye).

She was able to call me back within two hours and scheduled me an appointment for the following day. I understand medical offices get really busy, but the doctor should be smart enough to not hire such a receptionist who is so rude - their job is customer service - their job is to be nice! If you can't handle it, get another job!

DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE THIS POS DOCTOR I injured my hip running 5K runs. The first time I went here, which took over a month to get an apt., I only saw a PA and not the doctor. I had x-rays and told to go to Physical Therapy. After no help I returned to my family Doc who scheduled an MRI. The MRI shows two tears, one in the lining and one in a tendon along with a 9mm cyst.

I rescheduled to see Dr. Holmes and had to wait for over a month to see him. Today I showed up for my apt and I was told that I should have received a call on Nov 5 that the Dr is downsizing and had to cancel my apt. I checked my phone and saw that I never received a call. I was told that "yeah, that person is no longer here and we will problem her that complaint more" She told me I could get another apt. for sometime in January if i wanted to!

Do not make the mistake of making an appointment with Dr. Holmes, . I fell July 1 had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Fractured leg screwed up my knee really bad. They put an immobilizer on it and told me to see Dr. Holmes, the next day. That was a laugh. They told me they could not see me and it took me over two weeks to get an appointment. Didn't get to see Dr. Holmes, saw his assistant who doesn't know a whole lot.

They put a brace on and said come back in six weeks. Came back in six weeks, still do not see Dr. Holmes, saw his assistant again. They said well OK if you want surgery let us know. Didn't tell me to come back didn't make another appointment to see me. I had to call to make an appointment and I cannot get in till November 12. Just got a call on November 6 that they had to cancel my appointment because the doctor is only seeing postop patients.

They told me they could schedule me sometime in January. I am 65, I have not been able to walk since July 1. This joker is screwing me around. Who leaves an injured patient and doesn't help them I'll tell you that person is Dr. Holmes, . I hope I never see him face-to-face because I am going to let him know exactly what I feel about him.

I think I'll find a Doctor Who cares about his patients because Dr. Holmes, does not. His assistant told me he's the best around. I don't think so. I am so upset.

Today I walked in and a lady named Nikki was the receptionist. She was completely rude to every single patient that walked in. She was very rude with every call she picked up. The blonde receptionist asked if I needed help and she was super nice, helpful and pleasant to talk too. Long story short we rescheduled after 50 minutes of waiting and observing.

If I could take away stars I would and I never even stepped foot into the place. My son broke his leg on Saturday. On Monday, Primary dr sent referral here and said I'd get a call back to schedule the appointment. Waited all day, no call. Called to make the appointment directly only to receive Becky's voicemail stating she'd return my call within 48 hours. 48 hours?!?!

For medical attention?!?! Called my primary back to get a referral somewhere else and was talked into remaining patient, that Becky would call me. Of course, Becky called me just a few minutes later (I'm sure the primary dr office let her know I was upset that I had been waiting all day). First appointment she offers me is Friday. When I point out that is a week after the injury occurred she has the nerve to "correct" me and say Saturday would make it a week. Really?

And when I continue to push and mention that healing has already begun, we shouldn't wait that long to be seen she says "this is the process" and he can't be seen sooner because they have to wait for the swelling to go down. Swelling? How does she know there's swelling? We haven't even been seen yet. They haven't even seen xrays or ER reports yet because I was instructed I had to go pick them up from the hospital to bring with me. I'm fairly certain (always the chance I could be wrong) that Becky does not have a PhD and is certainly NOT qualified to make this decision by phone, especially without having seen my son or any of his records.

Of course I went to another orthopedic surgeon, whose reception took my info and returned my call with an appointment for the very next day, all within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it was already too late. This orthopedic surgeon says he wishes he would've seen us on Monday. The treatment options would have been different. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had waited all the way til Friday for Becky's "process"? I'm sorry if there are good doctors at this place because it's a shame that Becky is the face - and it's not a pretty face.

My husband and I were both patients here. I got surgery on my right ankle and my husband his left femur and right clavicle by Dr. Holmes. Other than surgery I didn't really have any communication with him but he seemed nice enough and he did a great job on us both. Plus almost anyone I talked to that worked in the medical field around here referred to him as the best in the field. When we went in for follow up appointments it was always with Julie and she was really nice. All the staff we came into contact with was very friendly.

I was concerned with most of the reviews but found these guys to be great. My Mom is here in Oakdale visiting from Klamath Falls and needed to have her cast removed and her broken wrist evaluated. We were set up with an appointment in a very timely manner and when we arrived treated professionally. They removed the cast and set up local rehab for Mom.

Be prepared to wait hours for your appointment only to receive a physician assistant (not an actual surgeon) to diognose your injury. Then expect to not receive proper treatment and follow up, which will most likely lead to seeking treatment elsewhere because your injury isn't properly healing a year later. And last, expect to have The Absolute WORST customer service you have ever had on top of disgusting attitudes and comments from several non-professional staff members.

Absolutely the most unprofessional medical office I have EVER been to! When you call to make an appt you NEVER talk to a live person. The receptionist answers the phone, the moment you say you are calling to schedule an appt she abruptly transfers you to a recording that says "you have reached the appt desk please leave your name and number and we will call you to schedule an appt do not leave multiple messages it will only delay a return call" I leave my name, number and message and DAYS later they call me.

I have been a patient for a few years and it has always been like this. The wait is unbelievable my last appt was at 2:10 I was there at 1:50 they FINALLY called me back at 3:15. I highly recommend that they invest in a new employee whose only job is scheduling appt. I find Dr Purnell to be very arrogant and borderline rude. I cannot in good conscience recommend this office. I prefer a friendly professional office where the Doctors are kind, caring and easily communicates with patients.

What wonderful care we received! My son recently broke three bones in his foot and we were referred over to OrthoMed. I read some yelp reviews that weren't so encouraging but decided to give it a try and form my own opinion and I'm so glad I did! He was in so much pain and crying at one point and a sweet lady who wasn't one of our original nurses(or whatever different titles they hold) came in and gifted him with a shiny new hot wheels car! Made his day!

He was receiving a red cast and due to, mostly him and his lack of cooperation, the cast was set at the wrong angle and they had to redo the whole process! He decided to go with black to match his car! Fast forward to today where we went in for his THIRD cast because his got wet and being a very curious 4 year old picked at it! The nurse(again sorry if it's the wrong title) who handled him today was so sweet and again I am just so happy with the care we received! Never once did I feel like my son, nor I were wasting their time or that we weren't important!

It's the wait that is so frustrating at this place. We came here for my child's torn ACL. For all her appointments we ALWAYS have AT LEAST an hour wait. AWFUL! On the bright side, Marco, the PA, and Julie, the nurse, are WONDERFUL!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Waited an hour and a half to see PA Marco M. And he wan an arrogant jerk. After waiting an hour and a half he just walked in, didn't give me the results of the MRI and said my pain was not a big deal, lectured me that my previous doctor should have started physical therapy already and would not listen to me describe my symptoms. He would just keep interrupting me and would lecture more. I would never come back again or send anyone here.

My 93 year old grandmother broke her leg in a fall in early February. Dr. Braaton was the doctor on call and performed surgery inserting a rod to treat the injury. We have been to two follow-up appointments since the surgery. At the first follow up he stated she was not weight bearing. Today was the second follow up appointment. Her appointment time was 10:30a and she was called back around 11:20a.

The doctor finally saw her at close to 12:00p. He had not reviewed her chart and was not aware there were x-rays to review. The x-rays were taken and dropped off at his office last week. He told my grandmother who suffers from some dementia that she was now 50% weight bearing. When asked by her caregiver how to determine that, he said she should use a scale.

My grandmother would have received more informed, better follow-up care if we had picked a name from the phone book and wandered in without a file. No one in my family will be seeing this man again.

Dr. Braaton has got to be the most pompous, rude, egotistical doctor I have ever met. He doesn't communicate, terrible bedside manner. I waited one time an hour and a half to see him, almost walked out I was so mad. The coup de grace though was after I told him I was relocating to Sacramento and I gave him the doctor I wanted to ham him issue a referral to.

Instead he submitted the doctor he wants me to see for a referral! Now I have to jump through more hoops to get that referral cancelled and get the doctor I wanted to begin with approved. Sounds like the doctor here in Sacramento must be giving him a kick back for referring people to him. He asked me the same questions over and over again at each appointment (doesn't he write stuff down?). Messes up all the time on the prescriptions to call in, etc, etc, etc.

I would not recommend this doctor at all. There are plenty of other doctors that actually care about their patients and not how much they can bill the insurance for. If you can, run, don't walk away from this jerk.
