He specializes in performing shoulder and hand surgery. Dr. Saylor earned his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, before receiving his medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.

Dr. Volkmer is a very caring physician I have never had such a great experience from the first appointment, to him personally calling me to make sure I understood what the results were from my MRI and he made sure to go over the best treatment plan and he made sure i also understood completely what the procedure would be from start to finish, then surgery day came and he came in talked to me made sure once again I knew what was going to happen and what to expect he made sure i was in a very good mindset. I TRULY appreciate everything and i highly recommend Dr. Volkmer.
