Dr. Davis missed a major major infection. He had squeezed my arm, without telling me beforehand, while I was looking away. It caused a wretched sharp pain and when I turned to see what was going on and asked him he said "I was just holding your arm." Obviously no medical reasoning for it whatsoever. He also refused to remove his hand off of me until i told him too.
In addition, the pain was so severe, leaving the top of my fingers numb, to the point I had to go to urgent care later that day cause the pain was not going away and I did not feel comfortable calling him back. Urgent care found a BAD infection that took two rounds of antibiotics, ten days each round, to heal. You read that correctly. Dr. Davis missed a bad infection the day he was examining, thoroughly, the surgery he had performed.
In shock, I asked the nurse practitioner how did she know there was an infection. She said the number one indicator was the pain. Yes you read that right, too. The wretched pain from that squeeze did not alert him to look for nor consider an infection. Her other two indicators was my forearm was more swollen, notably so, in that arm with the infection than the one without.
She also pointed out how warm it was where the infection was. I took antibiotics 4 times a day for ten days and it noticeably reduced in swelling and the purple coloring as well. A few days after the antibiotics were finished, i saw it swelling again and becoming purplish. I went back to urgent care a couple days after that to see if it may still be infected and indeed it was.
The infection was coming back, which means all of those antibiotics i just took were not enough. That's how bad that infection was. Ten more days of antibiotics and thankfully it went away. The urgent care Doctor informed me infections can kill if they aren't treated and wanted me to see Dr. Davis when he noticed the infection was still there. He stated he may have to perform surgery to remove the infection, if it doesn't go away.
He also stated it could have damaged tissue and that's another reason the surgeon needed to look at it. No doubt I would have been in serious life-threatening trouble had I not gone to urgent care the day Dr. Davis completely missed the infection. The infection would have continued to fester until it potentially got into my blood stream, potentially leading to death.
It would have been to late for me at that point. I don't know if that would have happened, even though it's possible, nor when I would have personally noticed that infection, had urgent care not caught it. Obviously this is the biggest concern of mine and I would advise you find a surgeon who knows how to diagnose an infection. The least of my concerns with him is how he caused pain taking out the stitches by supposedly, accidentally, grabbing hair or skin, on a stitch that was an inch long.
He over talks you excessively too. I should have never scheduled surgery with him after realizing I couldn't get a word in on the pre surgery visit. The arm that had the infection looks deformed, and has since the day i went home. I have had family members tell me it looks like two different surgeons were in the room that day and one did one arm and the other surgeon did the other arm.
This has been their consensus since the day of surgery and before the infection and it continues to look horribly deformed. I would be very cautious, in the least, to choose a surgeon who knows how to catch an infection. Infection is possible with surgery. Infections left undiagnosed to fester can kill a person. I am not saying that is what would have happened. Medically speaking and in my case, it was a possibility. With how deformed the arm looks and unappealing, I want my money back. Period.

I came to Dr. Davis to have my 11 year old breast implants removed. He listened to me attentively, addressed all of my concerns, and went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with the final result. Dr. Davis, Sheila, and Kate all made me feel very comfortable and supported through the entire process. I'm very glad that I chose Dr. Davis to be my surgeon.

Dr. Davis removed a melanoma from my forehead and it has healed up amazingly well. It is practically undetectable where it was. The entire staff was extremely friendly, courteous and professional. Should I need similar services in the future I will certainly contact Dr. Davis and I highly recommend him.

There is a reason he is the best for so many years! Dr. Davis did my bilateral breast augmentation with implants. 5 months later, I can safely say it was AMAZING! From the first phone call, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The first consultation was so full of information, and I never felt scared to ask questions. Dr. Davis truly made me feel like I was able to be an advocate for my procedure and results!
My recovery was not as bad as I anticipated (ha), and he always made himself available for last minute checks and questions post-surgery. My results are stellar, and I do not hesitate to recommend Dr. Davis!

From the moment me and my husband walked into this office to today, every person has treated us so kindly. When I went to my consultation, Dr. Davis listened to every concern and question we had and took his time in addressing everything even past the time the office was supposed to close. He is so kind and definitely is very detail oriented. He made me feel comfortable and at ease through the entire experience. I am so happy with my result and wish I had gone to him so much sooner. If you are looking for a great surgeon, Dr. Davis is your guy!

My husband and I highly recommend Donen Davis Plastic surgery. They were very understanding, very thorough, very polite, as well as very professional throughout the entire ordeal. The receptionist, Sheila, was very helpful and encouraging in setting up appointments. Dr. Davis walked us through what to expect and prepared us for surgery. Surgery was done at the Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital and everyone there was very friendly, re-assuring, as well as professional.
They showed compassion to me as the spouse, sensing my nervousness and concern while my husband was in surgery. We are very grateful to the hospital and to Dr. and Mrs. Davis for seeing that this was really a pleasant experience.

Dr. Davis and his staff have been awesome! The care given to my mother-in-law as she went through a large cancerous tumor removal on the skull by her neurosurgeon and Dr. Davis was exceptional and required quit a bit of thought and time by Dr. Davis to determine how best to cover the large area, and to speed the healing and recovery process. Dr. Davis, was very thorough and open about all the procedures that were done and was and has been very available before, during, and after the surgery as questions or concerns have arisen. My family and I cannot thank him enough for all he has done!
