Many years ago, my idea of what it meant to be a doctor was formed by my experience of my own family doctor, a guy with a good handshake, and a kind and a thoughtful countenance. I consider being able to practice medicine, and extraordinary privilege, but maintaining an independent private practice has become an extraordinary challenge.

Joining a group of physicians who share the sense of privilege and the joy of 'finding things out, ' who are supported with the tools, technologies, and talent to make the private practice of medicine sustainable, is why I joined Privia Medical Group.

Following completion of his residency, Dr. Glenn Anderson started Burke Family Practice in Burke, Virginia. His practice has grown with the community, and he has been privileged to care for several generations of patients, some of whom he first met during his training, and now sees their children and grandchildren.
Authorization for Release of Medical Information (PDF) - Allows patients to authorize the disclosure of their health information to a designated individual, company, agency, or facility. Authorization and Consent for Treatment (PDF) - All patients must provide their consent for treatment, communications (calls, emails, and text messaging), and agreement of financial responsibility.
Note: You should always check with your Privia Medical Group provider to verify plan and product coverage as this is not an exhaustive list, and plans change frequently. We encourage patients to keep a credit card on file to make the checkout process easier, faster, and more efficient. You will no longer receive statements from us, but you will continue to receive your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance carrier once your claim has been processed, detailing the charges and payments made on your behalf.
With access to your health history and an understanding of your individual needs, your doctor can give you advice over the phone to guide your next steps. A visit to an urgent care facility or, if it is a life-threatening emergency, a visit to the emergency department. Urgent care facilities are a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to the emergency department.

Update: Great doctors and nurses, especially Mariam Usman. However, the administrative staff is not helpful or friendly. Seeing that I am not the only one who has experienced similar issues with the front staff and receptionist, I feel more comfortable posting this review. I have had neighbors and friends leave Burke Family Practice for this reason. I am giving them one final chance, but if things do not change, I will be leaving this practice.

The staff shows great customer service and satisfaction. Dr. Sanabria is nurturing, professional and very helpful with all of my concerns. Thank you, Dr. Sanabria and Burke Family Practice.

The front desk staff, specifically one woman who was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and judgmental. They also practically shout your personal information for everyone in the waiting room to hear which is unprofessional. I've been going here since I was a child and have had endless negative experiences with this practice. I will never be coming back just because of the front desk staff. The only good experience is Dr. Thapa, she is a phenomenal doctor.

Nurse practitioner Grace and her assistant were both great but the 1 star is because I had an appointment for my wellness exam at 11:45 am today (12/22/21) and the receptionist tells me I have to wait THIRTY minutes to get the blood test done because their lab employees go on lunch break from 12 to 12:30. Are you serious? Then why schedule me for a physical at 11:45 if I can't get anything done until 12:30?

While I waited, the receptionists were lolly gagging, being super unprofessional! They have kids working at the front desk. Finally at 12:30 I asked if they were ready and she rudely tells me "um, you have to wait!" Terrible experience.

I rated this practice low several years ago due to their poor service. I routinely review my postings and will delete negative ones after awhile to give businesses a second chance. Here we are again. Similar issue. This time they called and canceled an appointment after finding out we had seen another doctor for a physical. Apparently they do not understand that when their scheduling is untimely and unresponsive we we will seek medical care where we can based on our schedule and needs. To respond with their hurt feelings for seeing another local doctor in such a fashion is not just unprofessional, but childish.

Hi. I called as a new patient to set an appointment for specifically, ADHD. It was suggested for me to do a virtual appointment with a nurse practitioner. While paying for this appointment upfront, they proceed to tell me I need to either do blood work or see a psychiatrist to receive a prescription for ADHD. So, I wasted my money up front on their recommendation knowing that this virtual appointment was pointless since they knew upfront this was for ADHD.

They also asked me bogus questions concerning depression and bipolar which didn't make logical sense for my condition. TL;DR: They are greedy for money and don't have any interest to help you with your mental condition.

Their staff is phenomenal! Taylor Trenner is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Their front desk staff goes above and beyond. I had the hardest time when I switched medical insurance and they all were so incredibly helpful and we're able to provide the care I needed. I highly recommend this practice and hope to be a patient with them for years to come!

If you're not seeing the actual primary care physician, you're going to have a bad time, and even then, the office staff is barely adequate at best. They mistakenly told me that they don't schedule yearly physicals, their staff failed to follow up with me when I needed a follow up after x-ray results in order to make an informed decision to see a specialist, which depending on your insurance, would make things difficult.

When the office manager got involved in which she stated she'd personally follow up and rectify the situation, nothing was done. There are inherent internal staffing issues that come from the top and trickle down. If the manager doesn't care about the patients, the staff won't either. This is the most frustratingly difficult office I've ever been to and they don't deserve new business. Unfortunately, as a mainstay in the area, they'll continue to survive because elderly folks and those who don't have the choice to seek primary care physicians elsewhere will be relegated to this bastion of ineptitude and laziness.

First step, manager needs to go. Second step, retrain all the staff to better handle administrative work and customer service. Third, front of house needs to hold the medical staff accountable for their patients. We are people not pay-checks.
