We are a multidisciplinary practice consisting of therapeutic optometrists, a general ophthalmologist, and opticians. Our eye doctors are some of the area's finest clinicians who apply the most advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment for refractive disorders, including cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
We perform and/or manage the latest methods of refractive surgery, (LASIK, PRK, etc.). The doctors of Eger Eye specialize in many areas including specialty contact lenses, eye plastics, low vision, refractive surgery, pediatrics, geriatrics, and primary eye care.

Our practice began in 1941 when Dr. Elmer H. Eger returned to Coraopolis to begin the practice of optometry. He began practicing at his parents' jewelry store (this was common back then as glasses were considered jewelry) but was interrupted and drafted by the Air Force for WWII. Upon returning from the war in 1944, Dr. Elmer realized that optometrists were "prescribers" and moved the practice up the street above a pharmacy and later to 1331 State Avenue.Dr. Mark Eger joined his father in 1968 and was also interrupted as he was drafted into the Air Force during the Vietnam war.
In our office, you will always be examined by a doctor, not a technician. Our appointments are scheduled with enough time to allow our doctors to provide non-rushed examinations that are followed by education and counseling. We want to be sure that you understand your problem, and the rationale for the care we recommend.
As of 6/1/2022: Patients and staff are still required to wear masks while inside the building at both our Moon Township and Coraopolis locations, regardless of vaccine status. As per CDC guidelines and regulations: Any persons entering our health care practice is required to wear a mask except for children under age 2, anyone who cannot wear one safely, such as someone who has a disability or an underlying medical condition that precludes wearing one safely. The Eger Eye Group is dedicated to keeping your eye care costs at a minimum while providing you with the highest quality and experienced eye care by providing:.
Dr. Noah Eger is a therapeutic optometrist who has been treating his patients since 1997. Dr. Noah earned a Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with honors and has multiple specialties and interests in addition to primary care optometry. I went in with my left eye inflamed and I have an insurance that they don't take. so I was genuinely upset. they took me anyways! they helped me out so much. I got an eye exam, eye drops and even contacts! and to top this am amazing experience off, I have an appointment next week! I cried I was so grateful. I've never experienced such generosity and kindness. I genuinely give this place a 100 out of ten.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and optometrists. They always do their best to meet your needs. The waiting room, exam rooms, and rest room are clean and well maintained. The eye glasses and contact lenses are of good quality and are priced similarly to other places. My family of 4 all see Dr. Corcoran. He has worked with my children since they were one year old and through the tricky time of toddlerhood. He is calm, patient and understanding of you children. He makes our visit fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend Eger Eye Group.

Dr. Tim Corcoran is the bomb! He is so pleasant and thorough. He never hurries me through and always has time for questions. He shows me my exam results and explains the science and that is very helpful. He is also a funny guy with a terrific personality. The folks who work there are also very friendly and helpful. S/O to Lucinda, Yvonne, April and Tracy.

Even though I moved away years ago, I still come here for a checkup when I am back in Pittsburgh. The professional care I've received from every member of the staff is excellent - friendly and personable, yet efficient. The office is clean and inviting. Sure wish I lived closer! Thank you all for making this experience so rewarding. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient at the Eger Eye Group for 4 years. I first went to them because they were so close to me. Now I would travel an hour to see them, if I had to. The staff, from the Drs. on down, is very friendly, upbeat, and extremely knowledgeable about the business and what goes on there. I have never asked a question and gotten the answer, "Wait, let me go ask someone." Their equipment is all state of the art, and the examinations, in all the phases, goes very quickly.
Everyone spends as much time with me as is necessary, to understand my concerns, and give me information I need, to insure I am taking good care of my vision. Besides sharing an interest in fine cigars, Dr. Mark treats me like a friend, rather than just another patient. When my exam is completed, I know my prescription will be exactly the one I need.
In addition, he reminds to to call him anytime, if I have questions or concerns about my vision in between appointments. Their selection of frames is quite impressive. On my last visit, I found I could get frames not covered by my insurance, which were better made and more stylish, while at the same time, paying very little for them. I wholeheartedly recommend the Eger Eye Group to anyone who is in need of vision services, glasses, contacts, or even surgical procedures such as Lasik.

The Eger Eye group is fantastic. Our whole family goes there. They are personable as well as professional. They run on time for the most part. When I was hospitalized and my prescription changed, Dr. Noah came to me. When my husband got an infection, Dr. Holly saw him right away. These are just a few examples of why I would recommend this group without any qualms.

I've been wearing corrective lenses for over 25 years now. Eger Eye Group offers the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever received in my life. Dr. Mark is so friendly and explained things in terms I could understand. He actually detected issues with my eyes that no other doctor noticed before. He has provided me with the best care possible.
The optical staff helped me pick out gorgeous frames and offered me a wealth of options for my lenses. They even provided me with an appointment just to individually fit my glasses. Now, I can see better than ever with quality glasses at a reasonable price!
