If you leave us a business or home phone number on the day of your appointment, we can call you so that you might adjust your schedule accordingly.
Dr. Mark Wade's first taste of Alaska was in 1987, when he worked as a fishing guide for a resort lodge in the Bristol Bay area. Originally from Texas, he received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University. He graduated medical school from the University of Texas-Galveston. While in medical school, he was Class President his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Dr Wade has been my orthopedic surgeon since 1997 when he repaired a shoulder impingement for me. Since then I have seen him off and on for various problems. I continued to have more shoulder problems and over the past 5 years I was slowly unable to do the things I enjoyed most without pain. Therefore I decided at the beginning of 2013 to visit Dr. Wade again.

Great friendly and caring. My four year old son fell on his bike and broke his arm They were very good with him made him feel comfortable and even had camo for his cast witch made it all worth it for him. Would go back every time but hopefully won't have to

I had lived with pain in my right hip for over 2 years. Saw the military orthopedic surgeon whom told me there was nothing wrong with my hip. Went to Dr. Wade, he took one look at my scans and xrays and said you need a new hip. Mine was bone on bone. Fast forward. I am 10 weeks past op and haven't slept this good or felt pain free in 2 years. While he's a man of few words, he was professional and the staff in the office was excellent.

If I ever need another replacement I would go here. Only thing I would say need improvement here is the wait times when you have an appt but then I was never rushed at my apt because he had someone else waiting.

Dr. Wade was very honest with me explained surgery and concerns with detail and candor. I had no pain even after my surgery. Great care from surgery center also. The only thing I had concern was my initial appoint my medical note was of another person. He's a good surgeon have no complaints.

Worst Care EVER. I was told Dr. Wade had a new partner that had better bed side manner then him. I didn't think it could get any worse but Dr. Everson was dismissive and seemed to not understand my prior surgery Dr. Wade did on my shoulder. Letting them do surgery on my shoulder was the worst decision ever, wish I could take it back

I had an excellent experience with Dr Wade and staff. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Dr Wade knew exactly what was wrong with my shoulder and informed me of the process of surgery. After surgery he got me into physical therapy and met with me to make sure it was going good. I definitely recommend Dr Wade if u have bone issues.

I broke my ankle February 2015 and required surgery (open reduction external fixation); basically a plate with screws. Dr. Wade did an excellent job (could barely even see where the fracture occurred after it healed). And I am happy to report that I made a full recovery (back to running and interval and strength training). That said, if you are looking for Dr. Wade to be your friend through the process, look elsewhere.

I think he is not unique among orthopedic surgeons in having an oversized ego. Also, ignore the instructions to do no physical therapy until after you are fully weight bearing (this is the only reason I give Wade's shop 4 stars). I started PT as soon as I got my cast off and believe I advanced my recovery by at least 2 weeks. The longer your foot is immobilized, the longer it will take to get full range of motion back. There is a lot you can do even if you are still in a boot. Massage of the injured area, for example, prevents scar tissue from building up, which will itself limit healing.

Had shoulder surgery in July 2018. I was very nervous in the first visit. I had done my research on the Internet & had some idea of what was needed. He was short & to the point. I didn't need my hand held so this was fine. The aftercare was surprising as I thought 2 months & I'd be good to go. He reminded me that he told me 4-6 months to see a big change.

I'm at 5 months today & found him to be true. Due to the extent of the repair & amount of arthritis I believe I am right on tract in healing. I would definitely recommend Dr Wade for shoulder surgery & if I end up having to get my other one done, I won't hesitate to return to Dr Wade. As for long waiting room times-I'd look into scheduling not the Dr himself.

Karen, who I saw, went through her diagnostic tests very quickly, without talking me through them, and caused me a lot of pain. Dr. Wade didn't come into my room but rather stopped me in the hall, in front of his staff, which made me rather uncomfortable. All in all, I waited almost 2.5 hours for them to tell me to come back in 3 weeks if my knee doesn't improve.

Heard that he was a good doctor from numerous people so we gave it a shot. Spend about a total of three hours there, two hours waiting and about an hour after seeing him. Being told from the medical assistant that he likes to take time with his patients. So we were fine with waiting, think that he would spend time and patients with us. When Dr. Wade came, he only spend a maximum of five minutes with us.

The whole time he was there, he didn't even explain anything to us about our situation. He had a bad attitude and manner the entire time with his appearance. Asking us questions and cutting off our word when we were trying to answer his questions. After that, he didn't want to show his face so he had his assistant to come and explain everything to us.

There were no apology given from what happened. This was a horrible experience that I've been to and the worst from a doctor. From all that happened to us, I DON'T recommend this place for anyone.

Dr. Wade is a professional and talented surgeon. I was diagnosed promptly and accurately and treated correctly. I spoke to many patients before choosing Dr. Wade. He has excellent surgical results. All physicians have complications, but I would definitely go back to him. I thought he was very personable and had a good bedside manner although what was most important to me was accurate diagnosis and treatment which he hit out of the park. Highly recommended!
