I spent my college years at Stanford University and attended medical school at UCLA. I did my internship and residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, where I completed a year as the Chief Resident in Pediatrics. My wife, Tracey, and I have two children, Jeffrey and Hannah. We've lived in Mount Vernon since 1995.

A couple weeks ago I had to make an appoint for my children who had a horrible rash and were sick with an intense cough. When I called I was told by the front desk that they couldn't make an appointment until a pass due payment (from when My kids got Covid) was paid. Which would have been paid if the HSA card on file was updated. Not only was reception rude, but refusing care, was really just the last straw.

I have never had issues with the clinic or the doctors that have seen both my kids since they were born. Today, I called because their cough is back and in hopes to figure out what's going on and possibly seeing if my kids had a respiratory issue since this is an on going issue. I wanted to make an appointment. Again, the receptionist said they had nothing available for the day (which is understandable) since it was around 4pm.

She said I would have to call back tomorrow at 8am to have my kids seen. I asked why I couldn't schedule ahead of time because (I have to work in appointments for my job) she than answered with a "no" they don't make appointments unless it is the same day. I would just like to pull their records and go else where. I can't believe I was even willing to give this place a second chance since I never before had issues, and the nurse and doctor we saw last time were great. Looks like I will be looking for a new provider and I hope they educate their front desk on the laws revolving around refusing care. I normally never leave reviews, but as someone who has been in the medical field before I would expect better.

My boys have gone to Skagit Peds for several years and I absolutely love all the doctors and staff! Recently both of them are now over 21 years old and had to go to an adult doctor I wish I could still take them to Skagit Peds still! I have read some of the negative reviews but I have never had those experiences. I highly recommend Skagit Peds!

Lovely medical personnel, among them Elizabeth was by far my favourite. She was very helpful and I 100% recommend this place for your medical needs!

When I've got doctor's appointments here from 2014-2019, I REALLY liked this place, because the doctors here were SO AWESOME to me! When I was younger, I used to play in the play area, but when I got older, I started to sit inside the "waiting room" area. I sadly retired from this place in 2020, which is a shame. BUT I now have doctor's appointments at the SeaMar Medical Clinic in Concrete, WA (my local). But I would highly recommend going to this AWESOME place, you WON'T be disappointed.

My wife took our daughter to this clinic for the first time yesterday. She came back and said the doctor was wonderful, that we will bring her back. We moved here from out of state a few months ago, and it feels good to have a good doctor for our baby girl. Thank you!

I have taken my 4 children here for the past 15yrs. For the past year or so this office has gone down hill. Provider turn over is awful and happens with no notice. In my case I have children with special needs and must see the same Provider. Not to mention with the high turn over lots of important things are getting over looked or not followed up on. I have taken 2 of my children in recently and saw a new Dr. I'm sorry but after raising 7 children I know more than this person. She would just repeat but I would suggest.

Very disappointed the receptionist CARLA had to be so rude to us. We've been going here since my daughter was a newborn, almost two years now. I had make an appointment to get my daughter checked out for some personal things and to see if she needed to continue her medication. When I checked in upon arrival I had told her I got a new phone number, all she said was okay.

Then during my appointment the doctor told me she was due for some vaccinations and that she wanted her to come in for them on a later date because of all that was going on with her then and that they would also call to let me know the results for if she needed to continue her medication. After my appointment Carla was still at the desk so I asked if I could schedule her appointment for her vaccinations she needed.

She told me I didn't need to in a very rude tone. I said okay and left confused. When I tried to call to figure things out it was again CARLA on the phone and she said she was confused when I tried explaining to her. I still don't know what's going on with my daughter because of this. I absolutly loved the doctors but don't think I will be able to go back because of that.

Extremely disappointed. I have 1 year old triplets and I wanted to bring them in for their 15 month appointment. I asked if I could also bring their older sister for Hera. I was told they had to get an ok from providers to do so, so they would call me back. No one ever called me back. I got put on hold the second time I called a couple weeks later, and then got disconnected. Again, no one called me back.

I had to call back in and was told oh yes, I did check with our supervisor and she said you can bring two babies in one day and then you have to come back in another day with the other two babies. Ridiculous. I like the pediatricians there but because of poor management decisions we will be taking our 4 girls else where. As if triplets isn't hard enough, I have to get a baby sitter twice just to take my triplets to the doctor.

I've had OK experiences with doctors, not great with staff. The last straw was an appointment this week that I arrived 10 minutes early for, and still hadn't been seen 50 minutes later. Upon asking when someone would be seeing us I was told with no compassion or care to "just wait they were behind" which is unacceptable to me. I will be making the extra trip to take her to a better clinic instead of dealing with these people ever again.

Extremely challenging to get in whenever it's an appointment beyond a well check. Even though we've established care there, every time we've had to just go to walk in clinics even if it's been a more urgent manner.(Hand, foot, mouth)We've had several bad experiences there beyond that and though they have one or two really kind physicians their office staff is often rude. We have just recently left after giving them a several chances. I realize that people have bad days, myself included, but I would not recommend them!

Skagit Pediatrics is A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE. I can promise you won't regret it. Always follow what you feel is best for baby because mamas always know best but of course always giving the best knowledge they know about the situation. Followed by privacy and of course never any judgment. I always feel comfortable to feed my little one if needed after an apt or whatever it may be.

They are there to help with any questions you may have helping give you the best experience for your child and that's what I believe all mamas want for the little ones. Hope this was helpful :

My children have been patients at Skagit Pediatrics for over 4 years and we have always thought of them as a 5-star pediatrician, recommended them to others, truly loved them! I am saddened that I even feel the need to write this review. There were two instances of my scheduling an appointment for a simple well child check that resulted in an additional appointment.

The first time I figured it was just a mistake, no big deal (we had to go back for an immunization because the well child check was scheduled too early to receive it). The second time was after I specifically asked a question and made the appointment based on their answer. Then during that scheduled appointment I was informed that I would have to come back a second time because the answer I was given when I scheduled was incorrect.

I asked to talk to a supervisor to relay my concern that now twice I had to come for an additional appointment due to scheduling errors. The supervisor told me it was my fault that I got the wrong answer because I asked the front desk and not the triage nurse. I apologized, saying I was unaware and now would know the correct person to direct a question like that to.

She then proceeded to tell me she was sending me records request forms so I could seek a new medical provider for my children. I was completely shocked and speechless. I stated that I was not intending to leave, only to report a concern. The next week I received a letter stating that Skagit Pediatrics would no longer treat my children. This is in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic no less. I still am in shock that over reporting a concern I was told it was my fault and my children were denied further care by the pediatrician we thought so highly of.
