A year ago, I was experiencing nonstop stomach pain. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for when the pains would start or stop. I had trouble concentrating at work, and just wanted ANSWERS. Some time later (it took me around five months before I really acted, started seeing doctors, and finally figured out what was going on), one thing led to another, and they found gallstones.
I was then instructed to call a particular surgeon. I was never told, not even once, that I had any options with regard to who I could choose as my surgeon. Fortunately for me, a friend had also had his gallbladder removed a year before, and he happened to mention that the surgeons at SAS were the area's best surgeons for general surgery, and also mentioned that they were a local, independently owned practice.
I was surprised to learn I had a choice, and was irritated that my GI doctor had not communicated that to me. I was looking for an immediate response, and that's exactly what I found at SAS. They got me in immediately, like within a few days. I also had a unique situation where I was about to lose insurance coverage within only a few weeks, and Dr. Daniels and her staff didn't even hesitate to do everything they needed to get me in prior to the expiration of my coverage.
I literally had surgery one day before it expired! I was so impressed! I felt like from the minute I called, their office took a genuine concern in me and treated me like I was their only patient the entire process. It was pretty incredible. My surgery went great, and now it's been a year this month and I've had NO issues post surgery. My procedure was at Ohio Valley, and everything was clean, organized, staff were wonderful, and the surgery went great. Dr. Daniels was so sweet to me the day of the surgery.
I highly encourage you to go through SAS. They aren't owned by the hospital and therefore can "go the extra mile" for patient care, treatment, and well-being. And trust me, they do! I'm posting this now because I happened to notice the really bad review on here about them, and I just want to say in response to that other person's story that I'm sure there MUST be more to the situation.
There is no way that the SAS staff, nor any of the partner doctors, would have ignored a situation like that unless there was more to the story. Now I know that Dr. Daniels, Dr. Nedelman, and Dr. Conkel are the most respected general surgeons in the area! So please, remember you have a choice, and reach out to SAS Surgery & Vein. You won't be disappointed!

I had surgery and three weeks later, the surgical site was swollen, red and hot. As instructed by the Dr. I called and told them I needed to come in and be seen by the Dr. and why. The receptionist wanted to put me in 10 days later. I explained what was going on. She sent me to the nurse who argued more and finally said she would go talk to the Dr.
The Dr. Supposedly said she would see me 7 days from then but would call me in an antibiotic. 5 days after my skin split open and the next day, infection poured and poured out of the site. I called and told them I would be in that morning and why. They still wanted to argue after I told them what happened and said the Dr. Wasn't in but the nurse would see me.
I get in there and the nurse decided to call the Dr. which finally decided it was serious and came in. I have never dealt with such a neglagent staff and Dr. I would NEVER recommend rhis office to anyone. And yes, the infection was MRSA! I then was places on an antibiotic that fights that after sitting six days with infection inside of me that can be deadly. These people need to be working somewhere else. Worse Staff of so called caretakers ever!
