Most incompetent drs office i have ever been to and god help you should you need to be seen immediately, it wont be by your primary physician. i got lucky enough to get a np that had never heard of the condition that i have, which has a 10% mortality rate if untreated. they somehow changed something pretty important on my chart. i am a male, they changed me to Female(born male) and somehow did not have my ultra important records from the past year anymore. she sent out an improper medication and too short of an antibiotic course. they will treat you like a hypochondriac for having legitimate concerns. i pay out of pocket and i explicitly told that np do not send any unnecessary labs out, i only need liver panel and thyroid done. she sent two generic blood panels and neither of the ones i asked for. do not trust this place with your health, they cant even keep their patient records in order and are apparently hiring only incompetent people.

Spoke with Theresa at the front desk trying to obtain medical records and was given nothing but attitude and hostility. I was very clear with where I was calling from as well as my reason for calling, after explaining she rudely asked where I was calling from and the reason for my call, which elicited me to say "Well as I had just said." and then was given nothing but a pompous and condescending attitude.
The fax number on both the website and the phone tree is incorrect and I had asked a simple question which should have been responded with a simple answer. I can only assume that patients are not being actively listened to either. Ill be saving this fax number and requesting to speak with another team member in the future!

I started going to the family health centers in Asheville several years ago and the overall practice was okay. But now it has become a very unacceptable medical practice. Many of the staff and nurses are very rude and need some customer service training. When I started I was a patient of Dr linderman our doctor patient relationship was ok. Then it became a negative relationship and became obvious it appeared to me that Dr linderman is in this practice for the money and not the patient relationship.
I would not recommend my worst enemy to that practice. Since leaving I have found an outstanding medical practice which now I am so glad I left Dr Lindeman and that practice.

Make sure to check your bill. They'll charge you and your insurance twice for one visit. Also make sure you don't let the doctor knock your mask off during a physical. If it falls on the ground they'll tell you it's fine. " You can't get covid from your mask falling on the floor" and then they'll tell you they don't have any surgical masks to replace it either.
Just a absolute scam. Literally the worst doctors office I've ever been to. it use to be mediocre, it's fallen off really really bad in the past year or 2. Just be careful with this place.

Was charged over $150 for a letter from Dr. Lisa Scott that I successfully recovered from COVID-19. I was forced to have a tele-visit to receive doctors note to later find out that my insurance was billed for level 3 visit. Provider spent maybe 5 minutes on the phone asking me questions on what I need in the letter. Letter had one sentence with dates when I was diagnosed and recovered after 90 days. No compassion or understanding to reduce this fee after many calls to the practice. So disappointing.

I called this past Friday around 10am from my couch as I was unable to go to work or eat anything at all. I called to speak with Dr Hodges, desperate for some sort of advice on how to be able to eat and the nurse said he would call me back. The nurse calls me back almost at the end of the day and tells me to go buy indigestion medicine from the pharmacy. Indigestion wasn't a symptom of mine, and she never even asked in the first place what my symptoms were.
She told me she would talk to my doctor again and call me by the end of the day. She never did. I suffered for several days over the weekend. Because of my health issues, I slept through my alarm for my telehealth appointment today since apparently thats what I needed to talk to my doctor or get any advice even though my issue was urgent. I just called them back to get rescheduled, and the nurse on the phone with me wouldnt let me speak when I was trying to make sure i would get a call for rescheduling should Dr Hodges be unable to contact me today. Ive never had worse customer service from any healthcare provider and I will be looking elsewhere for medical care.
This place doesnt care about patients and their medical needs, at least the front desk doesnt. UPDATE: after speaking with Doctor Hodges, I do feel like I am cared for. I explained my experience to him and feel much better.

Horrible communication. Their Assistant to the CEO, Tammi York, has no professionalism nor manners. Very very disrespectful. Also tried 4 different times to get a call back from her and was never contacted. I hope she's not a mother because I'm sure her child is just as disrespectful. Do better when picking your employees family health center.

I absolutely love FHC! I've been to many doctors' offices over the years and they are by far the kindest, hard working, professional, and caring practice I have visited. Everyone I have been in contact with truly put their patients first. Dr. Thomas is amazing. She is quick and straight to the point while caring about my issues; the nursing staff is very kind and helpful, and the lab staff is swift and caring.
The lab staff will also talk and take care of the patients as if they are a part of their family (all of FHC Asheville does). I enjoy going to FHC Asheville Downtown and will continue going! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

At least one of the doctors here is great, he will help the uninsured. But if you are a couple of months late on a payment they will dismiss you from the practice even if you are unemployed due to Covid-19. You must pay $25 per month minimum, most doctors offices will take $5 a month just to show you are trying during these awful and uncertain times.
If you are uninsured go somewhere else, and I can tell you that every time I have physically been in the office the staff can be heard talking and cursing, all while telling you they don't have time to see you yet. I had to walk out one day because it took them hours just to come back and tell me my results were good, I didn't find out that they were normal and good until I called them a week later.
I like my Doctor here, but the practice on the whole is one of the most unprofessional in the Western North Carolina area. No compassion, only profit. I know they have to make money, it's necessary, but the lack of compassion goes against everything that is taught in any medical training program. I know at least my Doctor cares, but the rest of the office is pretty much the worst people I have had to deal with, even worse than dealing with Mission's health network. I'm glad I left because honestly I wouldn't put it past them to dismiss me from the practice for writing this review.
