Erwin Szela is an amazing doctor. From my abnormal tests to my very complicated, high-risk pregnancy, Dr. Szela is the only OB-GYN I trust to take care of me. I really appreciate coming here, both of the front desk lady's Fina and Elvia M. They are always Very helpful and kind people they help set up my appointment and they make me feel a lot more comfortable being there. They have really great customer service. I enjoy coming here to see my obgyn Laura Lopez and Nastha Harvey. Brenda is an wonderful sonogram.

Most of the doctors here are unpleasant. I showed up once again to an appointment where the ultrasound tech wasn't in and wasn't informed this until I arrived. Super unprofessional. let your patient know ahead of time so they don't waste their time. This happened TWICE to me. And they charged me twice for the same appointment on top of that. And refused to refund me.

Dr. Harvey delivered both of my children and my experience with both her and this practice have been nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Harvey knows what she's doing, and does it with kindness and compassion. In the 6+ years I've been seeing Dr. Harvey, I have never left a visit with her feeling uninformed or confused. She takes the time to listen and make sure that every question you have is answered. She truly is a one-of-a-kind physician and I'm grateful to her for two very safe, and very easy deliveries.

Do NOT go to this practice! I went here while I was pregnant and regret it. I have PPO insurance too, but since it was close to me I kept going. Check ups weren't too bad but delivery was a nightmare. I was in the hospital for 12 hours before Dr. Szela even saw me despite being in the hospital already. When I finally saw him he came in, asked me "Are we in a better mood?" (I hadn't even seen/talked to him!
He confused me with another patient) and checked me and walked out without another word. My epidurals never worked, which wasn't his fault BUT he refused to medicate/authorize any other pain management for me. I had to suffer for 17 hours because of his lack of visits (only saw me once) and ignoring pages from nurses trying to get me help. Dr. Szela refused to deliver my baby when I was ready to push because his shift would be over in 30 minutes.
I had to wait for the new Dr. from the practice to start her shift before I could deliver. Even the nurses were incredulous at his behavior. I can only assume he was only interested in preforming c sections (since he was in the operating room my whole time in labor) and was uninterested in delivering. I still can't believe I saw him for a grand totally of 3 min the 17 hours I was there before delivery. Billing constantly got my insurance number wrong and billed me in whole saying my insurance wouldn't cover certain things.
Their constant errors caused me hours of phone calls with my insurance to figure out they completely dropped the ball on insurance claims. There is too much more to fit and some things were flat out immoral and life changing physically. Just DONT go.

If you are needing any sympathy or comfort in your care, DO NOT GO HERE. As a person seeking guidance on the fertility process, every. Single. Staff. Was dismissive, inattentive, and uncaring. I interacted with 3 different providers, all of whom had different opinions on what to do. One of them even contradicted the other 2 and made no apologies for it, saying "if you had seen me first, I wouldn't have even done any (what turned out to be unnecessary) testing.
They were only physician's assistants, anyway". The lab technician on 2 occasions made me feel like a burden by the first time telling me she had been waiting on me to finish with the doctor so she could go home, the next time telling me to go somewhere else because she was on break. A tech unprofessionally and openly criticized the hospital system she worked for after 2 seconds of interacting with her.
The absolute worst was the ultrasound tech who gave me literally a minute's warning that she was going to do an invasive procedure and then didn't explain what she was about to do before she did it. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this clinic.

I have been using this office sporadically during my pregnancy. I go back and forth between Schaumburg office and Barrington office. The staff and service at the Schaumburg location was friendly and great at the beginning BUT recently they have hired a new Latina receptionist I haven't seen before. She is very unprofessional. I walked into the office, and she didn't greet me, or even look at me.
She just stared at her computer, leaving the other receptionist to greet me with a smile. When the receptionist asked the Latina receptionist receptionist to register me (I don't know why the receptionist talking to me couldn't have done it herself), the Latina receptionist just took the papers, urine cup, and gave them to me. There was no warmness in her tone of voice and she seemed annoyed in having to stop what she was doing in order to register me. Then, for some reason, she started talking to me in Spanish.
I don't know why because I was speaking in English so I found that to be rude (don't assume ALL Latinos speak Spanish or want to speak Spanish). Then to top off my negative start to my appointment, Dr. Papa Win De La Cruz made me wait 45 minutes to be seen. How does an OBGYN have an 8 month pregnant woman wait 45 minutes to be seen? That was infuriating because I was on time for my appointment and the ladies being seen BEFORE me had appointments AFTER mine.
I was livid and left without seeing the Dr. Then, the staff didn't even bother to communicate with me as to the reason why I wasn't being seen or being left for last. An unwillingness to communicate with patients and lack of professionalism is why I'm giving this office 2 stars. Hire better front desk staff!

I wish I could rate 0 stars.friendly environment and welcoming, but they are very unorganized/clueless. The 1st time I was here I was given the wrong lab test results. The 2nd time I was scheduled for the wrong procedure (should've of been IUD removal) but was scheduled for a follow up only so the doctor refused to proceed because "she didn't have time" even though she said it would only take a few min.
When I came to the front desk to schedule ANOTHER appointment for the procedure AGAIN! I called back to double check and make sure my appointment was correct since they have f'd up so many times. Well thank god I called because somehow I was scheduled for an ultrasound! WTH! I cancelled and never returned. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY!

I went to this practice during my pregnancy with my first child, almost two years ago. The PAs that took care of me were fine. Since my schedule was limited I didn't have a specific doctor or PA. My favorite PA was Laura, she was great I regret not meeting her sooner. One of the ladies at the front the desk was very sweet too. Everything was going well, for the most part.
My main problem was during my delivery. I was supposed to have my baby naturally but since I took "too long" to push Dr. E blatantly said that I had no choice but to get a C-Section and that's exactly what I got. People are right when they say that some of these doctors have horrible bedside manner. They don't take the time to explain their procedures and why they are doing it. They treat you like just another number. If you have other options, look elsewhere.

My God. The experience I had with this doctor was far more worse than words could say. Unfortunately, my doctor was Dr. Eisenberg. He was very cold, he never bothered to look at my chart and he basically had an "I told you so" attitude when I had my 3rd miscarriage. As in, "ha, you didn't do anything wrong, but I knew you weren't pregnant" attitude. Please, if you are reading this, go somewhere else.

I made an appointment 3 weeks prior to the day I showed up for my appointment. The location is 4 minutes from my home. When I arrived the surly receptionist snapped at me that I had made a mistake. The Dr. was at a location 20 miles from my home. I explained to her that I wasn't even aware that there was another location and that for at least 15 years I'd been coming to this location.
She got me the first appointment for the next morning, but she still had a major attitude, very poor customer service. The first rule of customer service, you should empathize with the disgruntled customer, and then most people will change their posture from defensive to understanding. Don't cop an attitude. Then the next day I show up bright and early on my only day in weeks that I could have slept, and they tell me they no longer take my insurance. I will say at least this receptionist was nice, but at this point I was done!

I went to this practice for about 10 years for routine exams, but my patience expired when I became pregnant with our first child, and the first several visits were appauling. One of the doctors did not recall seeing me and introduced herself during our visit. Another doctor (a male) was rude, disrespectful, and had no regard for my personal preferences or desires related to the birth of our child. Also, the office in general seems to be poorly organized in terms of scheduling, because I waited a minimum of 1 hour before I ever saw the doctors each time. I would NEVER recommend this place.

The office is not pretty. The staff is not friendly. I waited 45 mins before someone told me that my appointment was double booked. Plus I had to make the appt 4 weeks out. Dr Szela was late and then he was fast in the room. He was rough when he did the pap smear and exam. I went home with my vagina burning. Then when he was done he left the room without asking me if I had any questions.
I waited 45 mins but the doctor was in the room for no more than 10 mins. Also did not send over my prescription like he said he would. So I showed up to the pharmacy with my d&&& in my hand. Thx

Let me start by saying my 5 star is overall after going to each location. My experience was great! I receive my first IUD paraguard with Dehal{thiner Dehal} she's amazing! Very caring, listen and talk to patient. After 7 years I had my IUD remove by her again and decided to conceive. I became pregnant immediately afterwards and decided to chose a different OB. June 13' at 22 weeks I delivered my daughter at home and she passed away within two hrs.
In November 13' I decided to get IUD and not conceive a baby at moment. During my visit with Dehal she explain it would be best to wait for my period. I receive blood work, usually exam. A few days later she called and told me I was pregnant. SHOCKED- due to having a premature birth I was followed and monitor closely. At 16 weeks I received 17P shots, cervix length was checked via U/S etc.
I delivered my daughter at 36 weeks and 3 days via csection my first. Dr. Szela was AMAZING and answered all my question. He bought my daughter around for me to look at as soon as she was out. The entire staff was fabulous! I meet all the Dr and PH and can't think of one I honestly did not like. Each one is different and spent time with me as I voiced any concerns. I often visited the Hoffman Estates location and reception was nice, easy to talk to. I would recommend their practice to anyone.

Horrifying and traumatizing experience. We went in for our 12 week pregnancy appointment and a tech did the ultrasound. PA came into the room and told us that unfortunately, our baby had stopped growing and was actually getting smaller. It was our first stomach ultrasound (previous ones had been done internally) so my husband and I asked for an internal ultrasound to see if that confirmed the same results.
The PA went to talk to the ultrasound tech, all while we are hysterical about the baby and expecting a miscarriage. PA and ultrasound tech come back in and say there's been a mistake. Tech did the ultrasound incorrectly and PA didn't even bother to double check the results before telling us bad news. Our baby is completely fine. I have made an appointment with a different OB at a different medical center because I will NEVER go back to this place. As a couple who conceived from an IVF frozen embryo transfer and who has had a previous miscarriage, our experience here was nothing short of traumatic.

If I could give zero stars I would. This practice has been nothing but rude and inconsiderate. I began seeing Dr. Eisenberg for routine visits when we discovered I had some fertility issues. Every single appointment I made I was never seen by the doctor until two hours past my appointment time. No apology from the staff, no thanks for waiting.just the expectation that I had nothing else to do with my day.
When I finally did see the doctor he acted like he had never read my chart or had any clue why I was coming in. His bedside manner as most people have already posted about is horrible. They had recently switched to computer charts which further dumbfounded him. The man is awful at his job. Because of these issues and because I had no trust in this practice or it's doctors I began to see a fertility specialist.
It has now been nine months since my visits at women's health first. Apparently there are two outstanding bills that need to be paid. I never received one invoice from them nor a phone call. Yesterday I received a phone call from a collection agency regarding the unpaid balance! When I called to ask what this was about and why I never got a bill I was told I did get bills and now they were going to charge me a financing fee because of the unpaid balance.
If you never send me a bill how should I know I owe you anything!?!?! The billing woman proceeded to tell me that I can't come back as a patient until my bill was paid. I laughed in her face and told her that sounded lovely as I would prefer never to have to deal with this poor excuse for a doctors office ever again.

I agree with Valerie's entire review. Test results took several weeks and several phone calls. One of the physician's assistants is VERY rude (I think her name was Penny), Dr did not seem concerned with behavior of staff. I felt disrespected and disregarded. This is a business not a heath care service.

I have to agree with the other reviews: Unfriendly, staff is actually rude (?!?!), doctor Eisneberg was not pleasant nor made me feel comfortable during the visit. Agreeing with others, I had to wait 55 minutes to see the doctor and on top of that they messed up my billing. I will never go back. Whoever runs these clinics needs reevaluate their business model - terrible overall experience and I will make sure that none of my friends ever go there.

I went here for the first time today. I live in the city, but work in the suburbs, so I was trying to cram an annual appointment during my lunch break. I arrived at 950am for my 1015 appointment. After finishing all the paper work by 1005, I waited patiently. The receptionist was not very friendly, and was quite rude to the rest of the staff. At 1025, I asked if I was going to be seen soon because I am kind of in a hurry, she said sure.
I didn't get into a room until 1035, the PA didn't come in until 1050. At this point, I have already been here an hour and have yet to be examined! I do not understand why they make the appointments so close, knowing that people will most likely have questions, so to allow themselves more time. The PA was pleasant, but nothing to rave about. I think I will continue searching for another OB/GYN.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. This practice is terrible. They are always running late. I routinely wait 30-45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before I'm even taken back to a room. Then there is another 15-20 minute wait. The main waiting room/lobby is dirty and unpleasant. The rude and sloppy office staff has managed to lose my medical records at one point and recently, after taking TWO copies of my insurance cards in less than a month, they managed to bill the wrong insurance company.
They initially blamed me and expected me to clean up the billing mess. Only after I had them pull my (new, because they lost the old one) chart and showed them I gave the right info did they agree to handle it. It took several months to resolve. The male doctors are rude and Dr. Eisenberg in particular has a horrible bedside manner. If you are forced to go to this practice because of insurance coverage, only see the female doctors.
This practice is so bad I'm considering paying out of pocket to go elsewhere, even though my insurance company covers my visits to this office at nearly 100%. That's how bad they are at Women's Healthfirst.

I have been to all 3 of their locations. This location doesn't have a review yet so I will write specifics for this location as well the other locations. This is a long review. You have been warned. I have been to all 3 of their locations for 2 pregnancies. Main things to keep in mind about Women's Health First. - You will not always see the same doctor or PA unless you request to see the same doctor or PA. - You may have to go to another location, even if you do not request to see the same doctor, depending on what you need to be examined for. - The parking at Hoffman Estates isn't the best and the Buffalo Grove parking situation is also a little bit strange. 2008 experience: I was referred there by a clinic because I was considered high risk, but had Medicaid, so I was limited to what types of specialists would accept this insurance.
I spent most of my time at the Schaumburg location. I received excellent prenatal care and was treated well by the physicians and physician assistants. The ultrasound technician at this location was also very good. I saw a physician assistant most of the 2008 pregnancy until the end when I saw a physician. Both medical professionals were extremely attentive, though not overly friendly.
The doctor that oversaw my case towards the end was not on call when I delivered so a physician at the practice that I had never met oversaw the delivery. He didn't have the best bedside manner, but was extremely decisive and helpful during a somewhat high risk delivery for me. That is all I could ask for. 2012 experience: I had a surprise pregnancy, but had spotting before I was even 4 weeks along.
I called them and they scheduled me for an ultrasound and exam the following day. Most of my time was spent at the Buffalo Grove location this pregnancy. For my first visit, I went to the Hoffman Estates location. They saw me the day after I called about the spotting. The ultrasound technician was efficient, but not the most polite. The physician assistant I saw was great.
She was reassuring, but also realistic about what may be going on. My second appointment, I was at the Schaumburg location where I saw their only DO. She was very nice, but didn't inform me that my progesterone level was very low, though she did tell me my hCG level. I felt a little bit confused when I left the office. I started miscarrying later that day.
I called to ask what I should do and they gave me instructions over the phone. I did not have to go to the hospital. The other 5 or 6 appointments were at the Buffalo Grove location. I saw both physician assistants and doctors. Everyone was very efficient, honest, and helpful. I cannot complain about the care I received. I was seen on time most of the time.
The office is clean, but the bathroom is really small. Leave your coat and purse somewhere else because there is nowhere to put these things in the bathroom at this location. They now have a lab system that calls you when you have results in so you don't have to call the office. You can call this confidential number that has information about your lab results and is available 24 hours a day.
I have never had prenatal care that was not in a clinic or somewhere that didn't accepted Medicaid so I cannot offer a comparison, but I feel that I was treated as any other patient with regular insurance and that overall, the experience was good and the doctors/PAs are knowledgeable.
