Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a disease associated with aging that gradually destroys sharp central vision. We need central vision to see objects clearly and to perform common daily tasks such as reading and driving. AMD is a leading cause of vision loss in Americans 60 years of age and older.
Diabetic retinopathy is the most common diabetic eye disease and a leading cause of blindness in American adults. High blood sugar levels associated with diabetes mellitus can damage blood vessels in the retina-the nerve layer at the back of the eye that senses light and helps send images to the brain.
A macular hole is a small break in the macula, which is located in the center of the eye's light-sensitive tissue called the retina. The macula provides the sharp central vision we need for reading, driving, and seeing fine detail. As you age, the vitreous gel that fills the eye shrinks and pulls away from the macula, usually with no negative impact on your sight.

I went there today (10/12/2020) for my scheduled appointment, when I got there they were not doing any temperature checks. Front desk staff was rude, they were not helpful at all. I will NOT be returning here

They say they practice covid screening My temperature was not taken at front desk, No screening questions, test equipment per patients, pens and magazines not sanitized. Front desk rude, employees grunt and point In directing patients. If it wasn't for the doctors I wouldn't go.

Great place. Great doctors. Great nurses and people. Very clean. Takes most insurance plans. They do advanced eye care. As a type 1 diabetic Dr. Vyas (?) takes great care of my eyes. Highly recommended. 5/5 stars. Great clinic.

Dr. Viyas is great. My issue is with the billing office. I set up a payment plan to pay monthly as I have a high deductible. I have been paying as agreed. I go in for my appointment today and I am pulled into the office saying i need to pay $100 in order to be seen. I said that I am on a payment plan and i pay you all monthly. Why didn't someone call me to advise that I would need to being money in order to be seen.

Mind you I have been to this office for 8 months and it has never been an issue. The lady I was speaking to said that its $100 or I cant be seen. I have paid this place over $3K and you want to cancel my appointment over $100? She said that she cannot allow me to be seen without $100. So i said cancel the appointment and i will find a new physician she said ok. So you lost a patient over $100. Great Job Retina Vitreous Associates!
