In an effort to better accommodate for our growing patient population, as well as provide for the increased demand from nearby Saint Francis Hospital, the Hartford Podiatry Group is pleased to announce that we have moved our Hartford location to a new, larger and more convenient HARTFORD location.
Bunions are due primarily to genetic factors, but can become painful over time due to trauma, ill-fitting shoes and poor foot structure. What happens, is that the bone connected to the big toe starts to drift outward pushing the big toe sideways into the other toes which can also lead to painful hammertoes, corns and calluses.
Diabetics are prone to poor circulation, have a weakened immune system and impaired nerve function in their feet. Due to poor circulation or lack of sensation after poor circulation, diabetic feet are more susceptible to developing sores, and non-healing wounds which may lead to ulcers. These wounds can also develop into serious infections which can lead to amputations, loss of limbs and even loss of life.
At Hartford Podiatry Group we treat a lot of heel pain or plantar fasciitis in our office. Many of the symptoms include pain when you first get up in the morning, burning, numbness and increased symptoms by the end of the day. The pain is usually caused by tightening of the plantar fascia ligament located on the bottom of the foot.
Do your feet feel numb, do they tingle, are they burning? Are you experiencing shooting pains, a loss of balance or the feeling that your sock is rolled up under your toes? If so, you may have peripheral neuropathy. There are over 100 known causes of peripheral neuropathy and you may be especially prone to developing this condition if you are a diabetic.

I went in into Hartford Podiatry Group in Hartford and came in on the wrong day accidentally. The receptionist got me in with no notice, had a nurse assistant see me and then the doctor himself. The doctor did exactly what I wanted and got the job done and was so nice! I have been searching for this type of office for a long time. I am lucky to have found them. I would leave a million stars if possible. Thank you to Hartford Podiatry Group! You are amazing!

Friendly, professional staff. Dr. Kosofsky is friendly, thorough, explains everything in great detail and works with your schedule and your needs. I had him as my podiatrist about 20 years ago and the work he did then is now invisible. No scars, no pain and my feet look great. Glad I'm able to have him correct the issue I'm having now. I highly recommend him.

I am/was a new patient and was greeted promptly and with a smile. After finishing up with paperwork I was near immediately brought back, with very minimal wait time. The woman in the office who I believe is the OM and the MA were very friendly and welcoming! I have always feared going and finally buckled down and went and I was amazed by Dr. Kosofsky's work! I am very happy I made that phone call to his office! I am looking forward to my next appointment!

The doctors here are wonderful! I would recommend them to everyone. I have had many procedures as well as surgery by Dr. Kosofsky and couldn't be happier with everything he has done for me. My daughter is also a patient of his and her treatment has been ongoing for some time now and the care and concern he has shown her is beyond any expectations we could have had.
Not only the doctors but the staff there go above and beyond to help with everything. The staff make it such a wonderful experience as well. Thank you to all of you there your the best!

This was my first time to any Podiatrist in my life and I'm happy with my selection. I went in for two separate issues and both were addressed. I was given multiple options and recommendations for courses of action to take by Dr. Rutstein, which I appreciated. The office staff and X-Ray tech were very friendly and welcoming. I'm glad we got off on the right foot !

This is a brand new office location for this Podiatry Group. I have dealt with Dr. Eric Kosofsky, and he is a very skilled and highly professional doctor with years of service, but he has not lost his sense of humor, which can be comforting when you are in distress. You will find the staff to be very nice people who want to serve any need you may have. Dr. Kosofsky is very thorough in his examination and assessment and he does not keep patients waiting unnecessarily.
This is the kind of service that any person would like to see with any professional group. I would highly recommend this Group to anyone experiencing any foot issues. I am an Attorney who has practiced Law in Hartford for over 30 years, and I am happy that I was referred to Dr. Kosofsky's Group.

My mom had procedures done with Hartford Podiatry Group, so naturally when I started experiencing my own issues with nail beds and bones twisted in the wrong way, it was the logical place to go - and yet even without her enthusiastic recommendation I still would have come here. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the doctors are straight to the root of the problem.
They encourage alternatives for anyone not eager to undergo surgical procedure which I think is fantastic. They accept all the insurances I have been through in the last few years with little issue to the changes, and just are overall amazing. I wouldn't trust my toes to just anyone, and I am super glad I did end up coming to Hartford Podiatry Group!

I've been a patient of Dr. Kosofsky's since 2010 and over the years he has taken care of me for a variety of reasons from a bunionectomy to orthotics to nail bed problems. His clinical expertise and bedside manner are both top notch which is why I'm a loyal patient. I have even recommended Dr. Kosofsky to both family and friends. Making appointments has always been easy.
I've been to both locations of the practice (Rocky Hill and Asylum) and they are both modern nice looking offices that are convenient to get to with great parking and more importantly wonderful office staff.

My first visit to Hartford Podiatry Group has been a Wonderful experience. To start with, very helpful and friendly staff. Barely had to wait to check in. I especially loved Dr. Rutstein took his time to explain my condition as well as the treatment options. He paid utmost attention to detail about my case and provided some great recommendations. I highly recommend this clinic.
