Some of the most common skin conditions that we see are: acne, rosacea, moles and birthmarks, eczema, warts, pigmented lesions, melasma, vitiligo, rashes, scalp disorders, hair loss, nail problems, underarm sweating (www.aad.org). As part of our preventive care we perform comprehensive skin exams for our new patients and then once a year or more often depending on the individual case and previous history of skin cancer. We also specialize in the surgical removal of skin cancers, atypical moles, cysts, fatty growths.
Treatment that relaxes the muscles that cause frown lines or wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. It is also safe to use for excessive armpit sweating. We use only FDA approved Botox. Ask for a consult. For moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. An alternative to Botox, Xeomin is a treatment that relaxes the muscles that cause frown lines or wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes.
Please also remember to bring a medications list of what you use, or take a picture of them if easier. For complete skin exams: No self tanner applied several days before your appointment so moles can be clearly seen. And please no nail polish so your nails can also be checked for skin cancer. Please be aware for biopsies: starting in 2021, we do our best to do biopsies the same visit as your complete skin check. If we don't take your health insurance, or you don't have insurance, we are able to take you as a self-pay patient.

I have been going to this practice for over 4 years. I can't say enough about New Age Dermatology. The staff is professional, kind and I receive super customer service. The dermatologist is amazing. I have had 8 biopsies - from the shot to numb the area all the way to the biopsy.smooth and no pain. They are phenomenal.

I used to be treated at New Age Dermatology. I left New Age Dermatology after repeatedly being seen for a debilitating rash on my hands from exposure to a chemical cleaner. and still not getting any improvement. I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis and I was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide cream, a topical steroid. This diagnosis did not seem correct to me after I did some research, and I raised this concern at my next appointment with Dr. Chirtescu, trying to insist that this rash was the result of the chemical irritant and not an atopic dermatitis which is a more immune system/inflammation type condition.
I felt my concerns were completely dismissed and I was still recommended to continue using the steroid cream. My condition did not improve months and months of using this cream, which I feel should have been seen by the doctor as an indication their treatment plan was not working. I decided enough was enough and sought help elsewhere. After getting a second opinion from another dermatologist (at Cary Dermatology) and simply using more powerful emollient creams, my rash went away and has stayed away.
I decided to write this review, years later now as a medical student studying to be a doctor myself, because I have been learning about the serious side-effects of topical steroid cream use (such as topical steroid withdrawal) and it reminded me of the care I received here. Looking back, I now feel the care I received here was unacceptable. I also did not see improvement in my acne while being treated here, but upon seeing another dermatologist they took scrapings of one of my pimples and looked at it under a microscope to see I had some fungal growth on my skin.
I was given a prescription for an antifungal and topical clindamycin which cleared my acne up completely within months. This is contrast to my care at New Age in which I had terrible acne the entire time and was prescribed only sulfur creams and isotretinoin. I don't mean for this review to come across as vengeful or resentful, but I think that this feedback needs to be heard.

This place is fantastic! I moved to the area a few months back and needed to find a new dermatologist. I'm glad I found this one! The receptionist is extremely welcoming and very nice, putting you at ease as soon as you walk in the door! Dr. Elvira and her assistant were very professional doing their job, but also made me feel at ease by walking me through the procedure and explaining everything they were doing. They took their time with me and I really appreciated that! I look forward to going back!

This is by far one of the best dermatology practices I've been to. Not only is Dr. C amazing she's thoughtful, kind, considerate, an advocate in her field and continuing to learn new medical information and sharing it with her patients. The staff resonates the same. They truly care about you remember you when you come in or helpful kind and courteous.
