As a full service ophthalmology practice serving Greenville and eastern NC, White Eye Associates, PA, has been a leader in cataract and refractive surgery, providing sophisticated LASIK surgery for patients who only trust their vision to the best. Find out why more patients choose our cataract and LASIK surgeons. A cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens that will occur with aging and other diseases. Recurrent corneal erosions are a painful sloughing of the surface epithelial cells of the cornea that usually occurs first thing in the morning.
Services
White Eye Associates is conveniently located in Greenville, North Carolina. To better serve the area, our ophthalmologists also provide services in the satellite locations listed in the below, including contact information for each location. Office hours may vary slightly by location. We also have established Surgery Centers in various locations in eastern NC to make it more convenient for you.
In order for the eye to see clear images, the cornea (the clear portion on the front of the eye) and the lens must bend or curve light rays so they can focus on the retina (the lining on the back portion of the eye). The retina is responsible for changing these light rays into signals that are then sent to the brain and accepted as an image.
Over the last decade, laser vision correction with LASIK and ASA-PRK has helped millions of people see without glasses or contact lenses. Thanks to new advances in laser technology, LASIK and ASA-PRK now offer a solution for patients with myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.
Dr. Feng is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with special interest in cataract surgery. Reception has no idea what they are doing. Took my father for a surgery they "couldn't' locate my payment". The worst attitudes. The nurses and doctors there should have better judgement when it comes to procedures they can't handle. Instead of placing customers on hold and coming up with solutions they transfer you to voicemails to get a "call back" The worst facility!

I find that right now that the staff is very accommodating and friendly. Check-in is quick and wait time was fast. Since I posted this last message I have now had two cataracts removed this year. I am more than pleased with Dr. Prenshaw and my procedures. I do not have to wear glasses which I have worn since I was 18 years old. Now I am in my 70s and no glasses except reading glasses but that is no problem. White Eyes Associates is a 5 stars in my opinion.

My experience with two of the staff members at the front and in appointments was very rude and disrespectful. The two rude ladies at the front, one named Nicki in appointments, gives people that ride the Medical Transport, a hard time. We are talked to like we don't matter. Our medical insurance pays just like the rest of the people that are seen there. Just because some of us are disabled and cannot drive ourselves, doesn't mean we deserve rude and discriminatory behaviors against us. Maybe the news media needs to know!

Dr. Steinberg doesn't take the time to discuss post surgery treatment plan with patients. He's strictly task-oriented. focus only on caseload. He rambles while writing at the same time. Getting you seen and out the office and on to the next patient is his TOP priority. His assistant totally lacks social and patient etiquette skills. She doesn't acknowledge your presence.
In addition, she doesn't assist patients to and from their chair in the office. Most patients are still unsteady on their feet after having their eye patch removed. Accident just waiting to happen. My mom had both eyes done to remove cataracts and both times the interaction from Dr. and Assistant per post treatment office visits was just the same. No empathy or compassion. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. Dr. Steinberg was very rude, very disrespectful and very unprofessional. I strongly recommend to anyone, find another doctor. To be asked "do you want the surgery or not" as opposed to going blind, thank God I already had another doctor lined up for my procedure. And I couldn't have asked for anyone any better.
I've had both of my eyes done, cataracts in both, and he was an excellent doctor with an awesome staff. He was a blessing. His name is Dr. Vincent Dahringer, out of Raleigh, N.C. I was so fortunate to have him on my side. And I would recommend him to everyone! Stay away from Dr. Steinberg. He doesn't care at all.
