I had my first visit today with Dr. Nick. The team at Harbor Eyecare Center were professional, accommodating and personable. They made a situation less challenging. Thank you for all that you do. I highly recommend.

Outstanding professionals, all of the staff has always been knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and kind. Technology is always up to the minute. These doctors take the time needed to address your concerns and questions, and give you the knowledge and the tools you need to do your part in taking care of your eyes. Excellent patient care!

After a second appointment with Dr. Amy & Harbor Eyecare, I have to say that each member of the team I encountered were genuinely kind, attentive & helpful. I will continue to seek assistance from Harbor Eye. I felt heard by Dr. Amy as she uses her skills and knowledge to work on healing my vision. I highly recommend Harbor Eyecare & their staff.

I can't thank Dr. Sarah and her staff enough for their patience, understanding, and customer service getting my new glasses right. I am very frustrated with the customer/patient service we have received recently. I called with questions regarding vision therapy exercises the doctor had prescribed and was told a technician would call on Wednesday. I called back on Friday because we still hadn't received a call. It's now Monday and still no response. Also a few weeks back I went to pick up prism goggles prescribed by doc for exercises that I had called in advance about.

When I called from parking lot to explain what I was there for receptionist was in a hurry and didn't want to listen. I explained anyway but the message was given to the technician that I was looking for glasses that of course they couldn't find. Lots of time wasted because person answering the phone didn't want to listen.

.just cant say enough about this establishment From.making an appointment on the phone To being greeted and screened. The vibe inside was very chill in a great way So greatful and appreciate the care from the tech.the dr and optometrist. Great personality. Transparency about everything Could not ask for a better experience. If you need eye care this is the place to go

I have been seeing Dr Sarah Hudson since she started with Harbor Eyecare. She and staff are always professional but friendly and welcoming. Dr Hudson is thorough and always seems to have all of the most recent information on whatever eye challenge I am facing. Great selection of eyewear. I described what I was looking for in fit & style and the woman who helped me quickly found several pairs that fit my needs.

A wonderful experience. I called when I arrived and they were able to take me sooner than my scheduled time. All the staff were pleasant and treated me well. Dr. Amy was AWESOME! She explained things to me as if I were a family member. She didn't speak over my head with medical jargon nor was she dismissive. She also was quite respectful and easy to engage with. For the first time in a long while I have some hope. Thank you Dr. Amy and Harbor Eyecare I highly recommend this place!

I'll admit, I waited a long time before writing this review and it saddens me to feel so negatively about my experience over the last year and a half. Harbor Eye Care used to be stellar at all relevant levels: Attention and dedication from the optometrists (still seems to be true, except for the sales end, which is mostly what this review is about); opticians who were patient and gave good advice -- I'm a hard fit, adult in need of child's frames, specifics about peripheral vision aream, etc.; quality service from front desk staff.

Over the years, though, the customer service has become abysmal and, for some reason, they won't stand behind their lenses. My problems started when I tried to order lenses retro-fitted into an existing pair of frames. When the longer-than-expected wait time stretched from two weeks to four with no attempt to get an explanation or a timeframe from the manufacturer, I asked the optician to cancel the order and i would pick out an inexpensive fair of frames, which he refused to do.

The manager eventually offered me free frames AND lenses, which the optician handling my fitting refused to honor. In the end the manufacturer finished the original order, Harbor Eye Care refunded my prepayment and all seemed well. Six months later, the transitions sun protection coating began to deteriorate from inside the lens. I told them I'd accept whatever deal they offered to replace it so long as they used a different manufacturer.

What I got instead was an email stating they could offer free frames, but I had to accept that the manufacturer would take much longer and that there could be frequent breakage during the process DUE TO THE MATERIALS THEY HAVE TO USE. To me this is just code for: "we decided to skimp on lens quality". I have had complex vision prescriptions most of my life, as most of my family has.

None of us have experienced these issues with the newer materials often recommended to us. Now a year later there are small fractures along the top of the lens, again from the inside, and i am due for an eye exam any way but I am choosing a new provider because if you won't stand behind the LENSES, why be in this business at all?

It was a couple years since I went to my last eye exam and wanted to try a different place. I saw Rinita Trahan she was not only informative, but she truly cares about her clients. I highly recommend seeing them. The staff was very nice as well.

I don't have glasses. I had never been to an eye doctor, but my daughter needs them. Dr. Rinita blew me away! She was kind, patient, thorough and able to tell not only me but also my 5 yo what was going on. Whomever helped my daughter pick out her frames was also incredibly kind. Met and exceeded my expectations!

Awesome care! I was traveling and on vacation in NH and developed an eye issue. I knew it was serious enough to require attention and reading the reviews decided to contact the Harbor Eyecare Center. The were able to quickly get me in to see Dr. Rinita. She was very professional, thorough and knowledgeable and quick to diagnose my issue and provide the care I needed.

The staff at this centre are amazing! Very friendly and professional. Upon returning to Canada, my optometrist contacted me to see how I was doing and set up a follow up examination. She said the report she received by email from Dr. Rinita was amazing as it was very clear, detailed and timely. Never had glasses before. I received a comprehensive exam. The doctor took the time to discuss everything with me, along with all of my options. The best experience was the fitting of for my eyeglasses. She focused on me. There was no rush. Lots of options, and I was really happy with the results. I found out after my son was going here too! Great place.

This is the nicest, kindest most professional optometrist office I've ever been to. I brought my mom here for an eye exam and cataract check up. She had unintentionally canceled her appointment the night before and when we showed up, the staff bent over backwards to fit us in. They were extremely kind and did not make us feel guilty over the mix up. Everyone, from Tristin at the front desk to Dr Hudson, was very patient, professional and kind.

I felt like we were very well taken care of, none of the staff was pushy (for some reason pushy seems to becoming the norm at optometrists' offices these days) and the eye evaluation we received was objective, thorough and right on target. Definitely tops in their field. Thanks so much!

Very nice! They made the eye exam and purchase of my new glasses super easy. The fitting was great, and I really like the look of them. Easy to get to location, and parking was readily available.

I've been to many Eyecare centers throughout the country - from Washington DC, Miami Florida to New England. Harbor Eyecare Center is easily the most pleasant experience I've ever had when seeking care for eye health. I hadn't received an eye exam in about 4 years, and the care I received was excellent, from intake to check-out. The front-desk receptionist was personable, super helpful, and knowledgeable.

The initial technician who did the "air" eye test along with other photographing of the eye was fantastic. And then came Dr. Rinita Trahan who was hands down the best optometrist I've ever seen. Her level of thoroughness in explaining my specific eyesight was extraordinary. She was so patient, so informative, and gave really excellent healthy recommendations on how to care for eye-health as one ages.

I had never seen such an adept command of optometry before, and felt as if I understood the nuances of the eye and optic nerve in a much more enlightened way after seeing her. 5 stars.

Absolutely the best Optometrist experience I've ever had. I've only been wearing glasses for a couple years and still feel awkward having my lack-of eyesight tested at the Drs. Despite this, as a new patient Harbor Eyecare Center was seriously great service and made me feel so comfortable. From the receptionist, nurse and Dr who patiently answered all my questions I felt really at ease. I felt genuinely cared for and the staff clearly enjoy working there. I'm so glad I choose this Optometrist and would recommend them to anyone.

Anyone who is looking for an eye doctor, I'm fully recommending Dr. Rinita at Harbor Eyecare Center in Portsmouth! I have had glasses since I was in first grade and contacts since I was a teen and in those years I have NEVER felt like I was fully educated on my eyes and all the issues I have. In just one appointment with her I have felt so much relief about my eye health.

I always worry about them. While looking at the health of them, she went over EVERYTHING with me. Like, everything! My biggest fear is being blind (since I already pretty much am) and she even gave me tips for as I get older and what to expect. I wanted to hug her! Please go see her if you need an eye doctor! I CANNOT speak more highly about her! So much patience and so sweet! And thank you Hayley for being an amazing technician!

My Silhouette frame broke and I was worried that I would be able to find a replacement as C and I travel around the east coast. My vision is rather bad, so eyeglasses are essential. Fortunately, Harbor Eyecare Center sells Silhouette eyeglasses and replaced the broken arm with a temporary. Immediate service and smiles. What more can you ask for. Thank you Harbor Eyecare Center!

I really love how technologically savvy this place is. Everything is easy - reminder calls/texts, they are always on time or within a few minutes of your appointment. Dr. Hudson is very thorough and easy to talk to. Everyone from the receptionists to the dr's and opticians are really great. Easy place to get to and park too!

They were very friendly at first. I started to make eye appointments the beginning of July because I was having a lot of pain and blurriness in my left eye. I was also put on a couple of cancellation lists too. I did see the first doctor that had a cancellation. Luckily I just need glasses and no big issues. My first pair and I didn't find anything that was just right for me.

So I have been shopping around. I have been to 5 other places besides where I had my eyes checked. When Harbor Eye found out I didn't have my exam there they told me they wouldn't sell me glasses. Well I thought cash was cash, but if they don't want mine, that's just fine with me. If they were in my shoes, and they didn't like the glasses available at one place, I'm sure they would shop around until they found what they were looking for. The other places were also aware that I already had my eyes checked elsewhere.

Very friendly and attentive service. Fixed broken glasses, of my own fault multiple times with a smile. Would highly recommend.

Good staff but I've been waiting for more 30 minutes already! I hope they value the customers' time too! One star cause time is important to us too! I wish I was told how long was the wait!

I've been going to Harbor Eye Care for about 3 years now, and I could not be happier with this practice. Dr. Hudson is very thorough and knowledgable, and her staff is as well. They always work with me to get the most out of my insurance benefits and send my contact orders directly to my house within a few days. Last time I went, they adjusted glasses that I hadn't even bought from them to make them more comfortable. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my eye care, and I highly recommend this office.

Harbor Eyecare is the best eye center I have ever been to. They are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and willing to accommodate any situation. I highly recommend them to anyone. For example, I have a few unopened boxes of contacts that are my old prescription, and they will exchange them for credit toward your next order. When I called, I had just ripped my last contact of my new script, and they gave me a pair to use while I waited for my order to come in. Wonderful people, wonderful service, wonderful establishment. 5+++ stars.

I had a A+ experience at Harbor Eyecare. Loved completing the intake paperwork online! Got scheduled quickly and felt throughout the appointment that my vision problems were their problems to resolve, not mine. All of this, including ease of parking in downtown Portsmouth, a rare thing. In contrast, a prior eye care provider of mine offered me an end of June opening when I called on May 1st to schedule a consult.

Last Fall when I called this same provider to get an urgent apt because I had a contact stuck in the back of my eyelid causing not only discomfort but damage to my eye, they responded with "Maybe we can get you in at the end of the day tomorrow". Ouch. I had that problem (prior to knowing about Harbor Eyecare) taken care of as a drop in at the Walmart vision center. I agree with prior reviewers - if you are looking for an optometrist you can't do better than Habor Eyecare.

I would highly recommend Harbor Eye care Center. I was stuck without a eye doctor after 22 years of seeing the same doctor because they didn't take my insurance anymore. It happened at the worst time, a time when I was having eye issues. Even more challenging when I struggle with going to the doctors in general, especially new ones. It took me a few calls to find a place that worked for my insurance and finding a dr. to meet my needs. I feel more comfortable with this dr. than the dr I have been seeing since I was a kid. That says a lot coming from me. I seem to do well with Dr. Hudson.

I came in for a minor nosepad replacement, as mine came undone, and the technician scratched one lens by accident! However, the management made it right by providing me with a new pair of eyeglasses and lens, and shipped it to me in my hometown a week later! And since my frames were expensive, they didn't complain at all when I selected a similarly lightweight and expensive frame from their inventory.

When I took them to my local optometrists for adjustment, they marveled at the quality of service Harbor Eye provided, which they attested was extremely unusual! Kudos to Harbor Eyecare!

Very enjoyable and professional environment from start to finish. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Have gone to Harbor Eyecare for myself (Dr. Hudson) and my daughter (Dr. Pruszenski) -- both excellent.

Cannot say enough good things about the customer service at Harbor Eyecare. I was in town for a wedding and was in a bind--my contacts were in my checked bag that the airline lost, and the glasses I had were super old and essentially worthless. I walked in about an hour and a half before they closed for the day, but instead of telling they random guy that just walked in without an appointment to get lost, they did everything they could to help me out.

They went the extra mile to help me out, and I am incredibly grateful. If you're looking for an optometrist you can do no better than this place. It is absolutely top notch.

Dr. Amy has been my eye doctor for a few years. She is always very thorough and knowledgeable and explains things really well. She makes me feel completely comfortable. The office staff are always courteous, helpful and friendly. I have been to other eye doctors in the area but will continue to go to Harbor Eye Care.

I have been a patient at the is practice for over 10 years. I am always impressed at their care, flexibility and competence. They continue to grow and still serve each customer like their top customer. I never have to wait and I always feel that I am getting the best care. Dr. Amy rocks! Check them out and you will see! I went in, got my eyes checked, ordered lenses, picked out a frame, and felt way more confident about it than on any of my previous trips to one of those "glasses in an hour" places. I've been wearing glasses since I was six, so I've become familiar with the difference between people who know what they're doing and people who don't.

These people know what they're doing. They have several Optometrists and while they're probably all good, the only one I talked to was Sarah Hudson and I'd go back to her again.
