If you're pregnant and in labor, the hospital's OB unit is phenomenal. For ANYTHING else, go SOMEWHERE ELSE if you can. The walk-in clinic is a waste of time and money, and the emergency department is a nightmare. The triage woman doesn't do her job and the ER nurses disappear for HOURS. I have been on countless occasions as I live in Abilene and this is the closest hospital, but I would almost rather suffer at home than waste my money on services this horrible.
I was in last night for the stomach flu to treat dehydration and the nurses were cackling, cussing, and having a "good ol time" while putting in my IV. Seriously? How more unprofessional can you get?

Abilene is so very lucky to have this hospital. I use the clinic for all of our PCP needs - kids well checks and family care - and two of my three kids were born in the birthing unit where we had phenomenal care. One was even an emergency c-section and all went well. Every now and then it may be slow or I may second guess what the doc is saying but that's what conversations are for. Not roasting online.

I visited the ER 1/1/22 and have never had a worse experience when dealing with hospitals or the ER before. I came from a city 20x this size and they still don't have the problems this ER had. The attending was surfing Facebook even after she received the tests she requested. She disappeared FOR TWO HOURS after she stated I was to be discharged- even the nurses couldn't find her.
She offered no instruction, no assessment discussion, and no information on the condition I was seen for. My spouse had to ask 6 times for her to stitch my face up- I would have been permanently scarred if that had not happened. I'm beyond disappointed. I can't give the ER a zero or I would. The unfortunate thing is I have to live here and if I have another emergency, I have to go back because there is no other ER within 15 minutes.
It makes me physically ill to consider going back. They have my info, MHS can call me to discuss this further. What part of this sentence are you unfamiliar with owner of page?.

I went to the walk- clinic for some hip pain. The PA said it was bursitis and a shot would help. I got the shot and proceeded to wait for some of the pain to subside. Fast forward 3 months: I can't take the pain and went to see Dr. Brown. She said it was a bulging disk, prescribed meds and PT. Within a day the pain has diminished significantly. Don't waste your money on the walk-in clinic it's the same price as seeing the Dr. So, instead of paying twice just wait and see the Dr.

Took my son to the ER, the staff and care given was great! Every step from intake with Caitlyn, CNA, discharge with Nurse Rhonda, and plan of care with Nicole Betz, FNP. The team was kind, calming, and provided phenomenal care. We left feeling very confident every measure was taken to ensure our son was ok and ready to follow up with his primary care. Thanks Abilene ER staff for great care!

They are all good people, but seem money hungry. God help you if you owe them and they knowingly baited me in for an appointment, with foreknowledge that they could not give a steroid shot to a toe. They scheduled or rather refereed ne to a specialist who will contact me for a later date at their facility. All this after I asked them upon scheduling this farcical appoint.
