Everything about my appointment at Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons was excellent! Check-in, waiting and wait time exceeded my expectations. The technician was very pleasant, efficient, and professional. The doctor was exceptional. She was very caring and friendly, but still very professional. She spent the time I needed plus extra to answer my questions and share several personal exchanges. I am always very happy with Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons (30+ years), but this visit was exceptional.

Had both left and right cataracts replaced with an upgraded lens without anesthesia. No pain at all. Great results. Dr. Carter Nichols was awesome and answered my questions thoroughly. All staff were very professional. Would definitely recommend Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons to anyone.

Appointments with Dr Nichols are always helpful, and all follow up appointments post cataract surgery have been excellent. I have great confidence in his work, observations, and recommendations.

I'd been going there for a while, so when my husband developed a skin condition close to his eyes, I made an appointment for him to see Dr. R. He was supposed to be that kind of specialist. We were billed $284 for his introductory appointment. When my husband returned for the actual procedure, which took less than 5 minutes, we were billed $328.

Both amounts were before insurance. We also received a bill for over $500 ($240 after insurance) for the biopsy he sent in. I was advised when I made the appointment that he usually does an office visit first and then schedules the procedure. But, really, he couldn't have removed the simple skin tags on the first visit? He also failed to remove a third one that was close by.

And he couldn't have found a less expensive lab? What a rip off! Actually, in my first visit there, I'd seen Dr. N for my annual eye exam. He was in such a hurry. At the end, he apparently forgot to view my eyes through a special lens, so he's standing up 3 feet away from me pretending to view my eyes?! I complained to the receptionist/scheduler on my way out, because I didn't want him to see him the next time.

She told me that he actually has races in surgery, competing with other doctors, to get the fastest times for completing the procedures! Races, with a person's vision at risk?! I did choose another doctor, but on my last visit he suggested I had symptoms of cataracts. If he'd read my file, he'd have seen that I already had cataract surgery on both eyes. Wow, such personalized service.

After this latest incident, we're taking our business elsewhere. People need to wake up. Just because the business is in Edina, doesn't make it the best - - just the most expensive!

Dr. Nichols did a fantastic job on my eye. Had I known how pain free this surgery would be I would have had it done a lot sooner. My primary physician told me he was one of the best, she wasn't wrong! Thanks again Dr. Nichols.

I contacted Edina Eye Physicians & Surgeons on a Saturday with what ended up being multiple tears in my retina-extremely scary! I was amazed at the speed I was able to get an appointment to be seen. Dr. Stephens was extremely thorough in explaining what was happening to my eye/vision, and genuinely cared about making sure I was comfortable with the next steps in my care. I was extremely happy with the quality of care I received and I highly recommend Dr. Stephens!

My cataract surgery went extremely well. It was extremely professional. Dr. Nichols explained everything very well to me and his staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My surgery went very well and I think was a success. It's the day after and I'm seeing things much more clearly. Thank you Dr. Nichols! I will definitely go back when needed for his services.

Have had an ongoing problem in one eye for over 2 years. Keep going back every so often for re-checks. On my last re-check I had a problem in my other eye and also needed to schedule a complete eye exam. Was told to make that appointment for 1-2 months out (this was early July 2021) - when I made appointment the soonest I could get in (at one of two preferred locations) was on October 2nd (a month later than the Dr. requested).

Today (August 25, 2021) I received a call that the Dr. changed his schedule and now the earliest I can get in is November 23rd. I took the appointment but am definitely going to switch to another Dr. as soon as I can. I realize with Covid they got behind but I made this appointment for early October back in July and now because of a Dr. switching his schedule I have to wait practically another 2 months - hopefully my eye doesn't get worse.

Unprofessional an untrained staff at the eye glasses section. we ordered eyeglasses there because we did not want to go to another place for the glasses after getting the prescription for eye glasses there. The people who show you the frames and take orders are worst part of the experience. they did not have any knowledge of fittings, style or features. they did not go through all the possible options in details.

When we asked for refund as we were not satisfied - they said somewhere in back of receipt there is 30% penalty fine-print which was never mentioned during the sale process. you can expect nothing but pain from the people who work there. Please do NOT waste your time or energy here!

Almost impossible to get test results for recent exams. I keep leaving messages with no results. When i call nobody seems to know what's going on. Very bad management.

We recently moved to the area, and a friend recommended Edina Eye for the annual school required vision check. We made the appointment, and had Dr. Saiyid Hasan, whom was excellent. We went on our way, and didn't think much of it. A few weeks later, we received the bill for two vision checks.$730! We immediately called and they informed us for the first time that they don't take insurance because they are considered a specialist.

At no time when making the appointment, checking in for the appointment, or checking out was this mentioned to us. This practice is extremely shady, and unfortunately we are on the hook for the full amount. I would urge caution for anybody who is considering Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons of this practice. Very unfortunate that we found out this way, especially for a very simple vision check.

Please beware and don't make the same mistake we did, and spread the word to everyone else. We have already relayed the information to our friend, and they have since taken their business elsewhere.

I have been coming here for years, over 10 in fact. I have an eye condition I call R.F.E., it stands for Really Effed-up Eyes. Sure there's a more technical name for it, but I won't bore you with the details. So, R.F.E. means they have to contour map the surface of my eyes every few years and I have to see a doctor who looks at the picture and makes thoughtful noises.

At one point they told me that it could be degenerative and I might have to have a corneal transplant. The corneas would come from either a pig or a dead person, both sounded AWESOME. So imagine my disappointment when they told me a few years ago that my eyes had stabilized. My hope of being featured on some sort of horror movie where I see dead people or start squealing like a pig were dashed (yes I know those stories have been done).

Truth be told, I was leaning towards the pig eyes. I imagined how having an inhuman glare might work to my advantage! Anyways, I get to keep my messed up corneas and this place has been keeping me in glasses and seeing pretty well. This year they put me in some medical contacts that corrected my vision to almost 20/20. For me, this is like walking around seeing the world in HD after watching it on an old 1970s console TV like the one your Grandparents had. It's great!

The staff and Doctors have been great to work with. Even though they use a bunch of fancy words, they are willing to dumb things down so this dim wit can understand! Quite nice of them! So, if you ever get R.F.E. or just need a great eye Doctor, check this place out.

I was charged repeatedly for my one visit to Edina Eye. I paid my copay in cash the day that I was seen, and stupidly, I didn't save anything showing that I had paid. Weeks later, I was sent a bill. I called to fix it and they refused to believe that I paid in cash, so I paid it again, just to get it over with. This time with a card over the phone.

I didn't think anything of it after not hearing anything again, until I found out that my credit report showed that I had something in collections through them. Turns out, they were still showing that I hadn't paid, AGAIN! I gave the collection agency my card number and paid for the third time, easier than having it stay on my credit report out of anger.

This time, I saved everything, and made them send me an e-mail confirming that it had been paid. I don't know if this is normal for them, but I will never go back, nor will I let anyone I know go to them.

Bad experience. This place really does not know how to treat a customer. Has a very difficult time getting lenses right. Went back 2times then gave up. More interested in selling designer frames than eye care. You will never get a refund for botched eye glasses.

Awful customer service. I call in to get my prescription again and they make me get a new exam, and then scribble the prescription on a card. When I call in again to ask what the new prescription said, they tell me that they don't keep records of it and I would need to come in to see my "chart". Why wouldn't you be able to tell a customer their records over the phone? Also, very rude front desk staff upon arrival for my appointment, very rude about helping with insurance. I've never felt the need to write a Yelp review until this, Awful service.

Hello, I have never written a review before. I don't think I have had an experience so great or horrible to warrant a review. How ever, the service and attitude I experienced at Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons located on France in Edina was so horrendous and rude and insulting that I just had to say something. My son who is five years old was referred to this place by our family doctor.

The doctor my son saw was nice and helpful, but a little cold. It turned out my son needed glasses and this is where the story gets ugly. The opticians were rude to say the least. They argued with me about what type of lenses I wanted for my child and then after we ordered them, they were not in after almost two weeks. I phoned the store and asked about my sons glasses, apparently they were never ordered.

Then when I complained they argued with my about when they said they were to be finished. I didn't care what they said in the beginning, THEY WERE NEVER ORDERED! After we finally got the glasses they didn't even apologize for the rude behavior I experienced. The manager was no help either and was basically the same. Now, six months later my sons glasses broke.

I assumed they had some sort of warranty on the glasses and asked them to reorder the frames. They wouldn't reorder them unless I drove all the way there so they could look at them. Once there i received the same treatment as before. Two weeks went by and still no glasses. Finally they told me the lenses were ordered wrong and they had to be reordered again.

Still no apology! Now, I have worked as an optician myself for almost 16 years off and on. I know the business. I don't understand this attitude. I don't see why they treat me as if they are doing me a favor. What happened to customer service. I am opening my own optical shop and I can tell you I will always treat my customers with respect and never argue with them.

I still believe the customer is always right. I understand that when someone purchases somethng from you it is an honor to have the patronage. I hope I will never have to deal with this place again. If I didn't need a pediatric ophthalmologist I wouldn't have even bothered after the first visit!

We were referred to Edina Eye for my 5 year old by the pediatrician. We have been very pleased with the doctor and "nurses". If our dealings were only with them I would have given 5 stars. The front desk staff is not very friendly and on both visits were downright rude at times. With that being said we will continue to go there for the great Dr.

Had iLASIK here and would NOT recommend it. Found out after wards I was not a good candidate due to blepharitis/dry eye conditions before surgery that led to permanent dry eyes and blurry vision post surgery. There was no excuse for any of the doctors at Edina Eye to not recognize this and put profits before the health of a patient. Wish I would have seen a good surgeon before doing iLASIK that would have told me the truth and warned me about the real risks of LASIK.

It is not a simple procedure and should not be treated as one. Do not ruin your healthy eyes by cutting them! And do not trust even the experienced surgeons, I will suffer the rest of my life because I trusted them and their staff. Anyone that doesn't believe this review.don't sign the informed consent and see how far that will get you. The surgeons know that the real LASIK complication rates are much high than what they tell you and they would go broke with lawsuits if they didn't have that informed consent waving all your rights.
