If you want your doctor to work for you and not your insurance company, this isn't the place for you! Backstory: I have excessive sweating of the face and scalp. I've been seeing a doctor at the Mayo Clinic every 6 months for Botox injections but I wanted to see someone closer to home so I reached out to this clinic. My Botox has been 100% covered by insurance since it's deemed medically necessary.
I did have to switch insurance Jan 1st so when I seen the doctor I told her I've been getting Botox done but I need a new Prior Auth since it's a new insurance company. She said that was fine and she would contact me after she gets a decision from my insurance. A nurse called me a couple days later saying my insurance denied my claim. I said oh that's fine I guess since it's a new insurance company I'll have to appeal it and send in proof of me trying other things prior to Botox.
I waited a few weeks and never got appeal info from my insurance so I contacted my insurance and they said the doctor never actually submitted anything she just called the business office to see what their policy was on Botox. I was shocked! So I called and talked to the doctor's nurse and the nurse said they won't submit a claim for this because it's already stated in my insurance policy that it won't be covered and that's it but I can pay for it out of pocket if I want. WHAT! So I contacted the Mayo Clinic again, they submitted my claim, and I'm getting my Botox next month 100% covered. Don't go to these people!

I do not recommend this place. The staff is always very snarky and are difficult to resolve issues. In the 2+ years I have been coming here they have NEVER sent my full accurate prescription to the pharmacy. Always having to go back multiple times to pick it up after many calls with the doctors office trying to get them sent and approved. They never answer their phones and when they do there is always an incredible wait time- and believe me, you will have to call because there will be issues.
The doctors seem good but they do not give you the time of day to discuss any issues. Very rushed. They are not personable and do not care about their patients. Don't waste your time here, find somewhere else.

Horrible customer service. Called to make my first appointment (new patient) and the lady asked me if I was lying about my name, asked about my immigration status, and had a terrible attitude which was clearly driven by the fact that I do not sound "american". They need to do some serious non-discrimination training.

Would not reccomend this place to a new patient. I went in today with a appointment at 150. At 215 i was brought to a room and sat until 230 when a nurse came in and said the doc was running late with another patient. Ten minutes later the doc came in with no introduction or no have you ever been to a dermatologist and asked and looked at my spot and said "we will check it out".
With no explanation of how she was going to do that. Then the nurse came in asked if i was allergic to lidocaine and put a needle in my face with out telling me what she was going to do. Then the doc slapped a bandaid on me and said use vaseline and keep covered for ten days. Then she walked out with a nice to meet you and we will let you know without looking at me.
Sure would like to know when ill get my results. Totally felt like a number and a insurance charge and that was it. Be nice to get my copay back as i dont think ill be back and the service was terrible. Rebecca Dettman

I went to Dermatology Specialists one time and I will not go back. My doctor was pleasant and very capable. My reason for seeing a dermatologist was to get a baseline skin cancer check. The doctor found one mole of concern, removed it, and sent it in to be checked for malignancy. My concern was when she removed the mole she saw a very small black head on my back next to the mole she was removing.
She asked me if I wanted her to, "just get rid of it" since she was right there. I said sure. When I got my bill she had included "acne surgery" to my bill which added $355.00 to my bill. I called the billing office to question the bill. They took the $355.00 off the bill but said that next time I would be expected to pay for all services rendered.
I was so offended. The doctor offered to remove the blackhead ( took approximately 10 seconds, tops) and never explained that a cost would be added to my bill. Absolutely ridiculous. In trying to get understanding from the billing office, they explained that this is customary practice. I can't believe doctors in this clinic are not expected to explain to patients when a cost will be added for things they offer to do, however small. Very bad practice! Couldn't be more disappointed. Seems like they are more concerned in making money than being good professionals. Linda Dahl

Would never come back to this clinic. The issue I dealt with spread over my eye. When the eruption finally occurred, I sported a black eye for months. The healing left permanent scarring and I still have eruption of pearls coming out of my skin which is extremely painful. None of these Doctors diagnosed the problem or treated it. Highly disappointed and I have completely given up on dermatologists helping me.

This clinic will not let the patient go in with a parent for their appointment unless there is an interpreter present, if you need one. The interpreter either shows up or doesn't, and if they don't, they will reschedule you. Another thing too, we made the appointment but never took the patient in, knowing that the doctor was supposed to give the results today. Overall not good. have to wait longer for results and won't take you in at your appointment.

Horrible! Find anywhere else if you can. Their attitude toward you is as an insurance card carrier. For my appointment they wanted me to register through the internet. After a half hour of working through technical issues, the site froze for the third time. So, I called and talked to the manager. In all my life I have never been yelled at by a "manager, " but that is what happened when I told her I wouldn't come in early to fill out paper work in their office and risk increased exposure to Covid.
She went into a rant about technology not always working and how they are practicing social distancing, etc. Finally, her alternative: continue to work through internet to get registered. There are places that actually respect patients, but here you are just a another payment.

Do not go to them! They removed a couple of freckles that they said "are not yet cancer, but could potentially become cancerous." They scared me so I let them go ahead and remove them. The doctor took major slices out of me, when these freckles started off the size of a pen dot. He told me the scars would heal and maybe turn a little white. Now I have huge black scars on my legs and and above my knee.
When I went back the doctor pretty much said well everyone heels different. I tried all kinds of scar patches and ointments. Nothing worked: On top of that the doctor gave me and estimated prior to removing the freckles which was wrong. They charged me $400 out of pocket and my insurance a ton! I can't believe I had to pay $400 for the doctor here to leave me with ugly scars I'll have forever!

I've been treated for a skin disease for fifteen years. I'm pretty used to the once a Year visit to get my medicine renewed. The doctor here told me she was going to require every six months. Then when I had gotten all blood test and records to her told me it was every four months. She never wants inquired about an eye doctor visit which all other doctors are worried about with the medication I'm on. Completely made me feel like all they cared about was money. I've since fanother doctor and breathed a sigh of relief when I heard become back in one year.

Hi, Although I love my doctor at this clinic, this review is about their custmer service or lack thereof. I made an appointment for my daughter a few weeks ago. I drove 45 minutes to meet her at the appointment. My daughter's drive was 2 hours to get there for the appointment. She was running 10 minutes behind schedule because of crazy traffic.
When I informed them that she was running 10 minutes behind they told me we would need to reschedule, that they were booked really tight that day. Do you know how many times I've sat in that waiting room for more than 10 minutes to see my doctor? MANY times.and, I haven't minded that, I understand things happen and they get behind.and, I love my Dr. there. I made it very clear that we would NOT be rescheduling there, ever. Crazy!

I switched to Dermatology Specialists after a very bad experience at a different provider. I was very happy that I got a second opinion from Dr. Cho and that she was able to review the pathology from the previous provider. When it came about that Mohs was necessary to remove a basal cell carcinoma from my scalp, Dr. Tschetter, her assistant, Shayna, and her scheduling coordinator, Christina, were all fantastic at helping me out.
I was able to get an appointment for the same week that I called, they kept me calm and answered all of my questions. Even though I had to go back 3x to get cancer removed, I was glad that Dr. Tschetter was conservative in her approach so that I'll have minimal scarring. She was also meticulous about how she closed up the site so that I will have a straight-line scar along the center part of my hair - it'll be imperceptible once it's fully healed. I am really optimistic about my recovery and couldn't be more thankful that I landed at Dermatology Specialists for this procedure.

Let me be clear: my doctor is great. Friendly and helpful. I keep coming here for him, but holy %*#*, is the place poorly run. They have four receptionists, right? Four. And all of them have open desks, but they refuse to see anyone right away. You have to wait 5 mins if there's no one in front of you in line, and they don't move it when there's a line 8 people long, either.
Terrible customer service model. I have to get there 20 mins early just to check in. Then I won't be seen for an additional 20 minutes after. What is going on back there? Are you surfing Facebook? Checking out cat videos? What is it? I'm honestly curious. You. Guys. Are. Terrible. Back. There.

I have been seeing Dr Mimi Cho for dermatology appointments for about 6 years. Medical and some cosmetic appointments. My first appointment with her was for a persistent rash on my face that had been misdiagnosed by several doctors. She knew what it was and what medication I needed. I come to appointments prepared with my questions and concerns. Dr Cho always makes sure that they are addressed before I leave. It is a busy clinic and time is valuable, just as any other large practice. Be prepared for appointments and respect your doctors time. I highly recommend Dr Mimi Cho.

3316 West 66th Street Suite 200 Remember this address folks! Dermatology Specialists there are several phone numbers and I still have no idea who actually runs this place. Don't waste your money, time and effort on this so called Derm Spa. They are a lot of hype and no results. Over priced peels that can be out performed by a jar of anything at the drug store! Women are not stupid, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF WOMEN AND THEIR MONEY

Terrible service, looked at my issue for 2 seconds diagnosed it incorrectly, prescribed two very expensive creams and never followed up on a voicemail left for triage. After calling to have the charges reviewed, a week and a half passed when I had to call back the office, and they refused to budge on the charges. Blaming me for their technical difficulties with the answering service, stating they never received the message. Very bad at understanding what customer service is.

I had an appointment with Dr. Creswell - I was referred from my Fairview MD due to a chronic hand wart. This was the MOST efficient doctor's appointment I've ever had in my life - I was literally out the door within 15 minutes, and that's with EXCEPTIONAL bedside manner (from the receptionists, nurses and Dr. Creswell) and getting my mass surgically removed!
I found Dr. Creswell to be really helpful - he answered all my questions thoroughly, explained everything very well, and surgically shaved my wart off without any complications (it's still healing). Overall, two thumbs up, and that's coming from a medical professional with very HIGH standards for medical care!
