St. Francis Regional Medical Center has a rich tradition of delivering quality health care for the people living in Scott, Carver and western Dakota counties. Founded by a tiny group of Franciscan Sisters in 1938, St. Francis has expanded from a tiny, community hospital to a complete, high-quality, regional medical center, rapidly expanding to understand the requirements of this fast-growing area.

No, it is not. The hospital will do its best, but if there are sicker patients ahead of you, they may be seen first. You will be seen by a healthcare professional who will evaluate your condition and decide on the best course of action for you. I just had major surgery on 5-2-2022. The nurses and staff that prepared me for my surgery were so attentive and tried to put me at ease. Very kind. Kudos to the lady who put in my IV, I never felt it! Also the entire operating staff came in to introduce themselves and also made me feel in good hands; Dr. Smoot and her crew were wonderful. I felt I was very informed on my discharge. I wish I could name names, but my mind was elsewhere. But truly loved loved the nurse who was in charge of me in the prep!

Had a colonoscopy done and was very disappointed on how I was left in recovery. I was rushed by a nurse to wake up so that I can leave. Once I was able to get up I felt wetness along my back and behind. Came to find out I was laying on my own bowels. I was never cleaned up at all. That was so wrong and disgusting to leave me that way. They didn't even care when I asked the guy nurse why was I left this way.
He just said I needed yo get dressed so they can discharge me. This is so wrong I felt like I was treated like a piece of trash. Does anyone know what I can do about this situation?

Most the doctors and nurses provided excellent care. However, my discharging doctor would not even come talk with me about my concerns being discharged. She said to the nurse "tell them they wait but I'm making any promises" then proceeded to get mad at the nurse because we were waiting. We left and I was still experiencing concerning symptoms and ended up in the urgent care after 2 hours of being discharged.
I hope the hospital fronts that bill because their doctor lacked the respect to even speak with me. (I was there for 4 days and she was the new doctor there on my last day and I saw her for 2 minutes when I was half asleep) this behavior is so dangerous in healthcare it's unbelievable.

I delivered my first child under the care of the midwife team at St. Francis. All staff was very kind and knowledgeable from people helping at the hospital entrance to the nurses & anesthesiologist. Sure some things in the building could use updating and the food wasn't great, but I really have no complaints and am very happy with my experience.

I wish I could bring my sister back to this hospital so every single nurse and PA who ignored the severity of her post-op pain and kept refusing to give her effective pain management can hear how much she is crying, how much excruciating pain she is in. Because of COVID protocols, she was told she could not do inpatient treatment for her multi-level microdiscectomy (major back surgery).
The doctor before her surgery promised to send her home with effective pain management, the same level of pain management that she received when she had this same surgery done in 2018. Then she didn't see the doctor at all afterwards and nurses and other hospital staff refused to give her any helpful pain management. She has always struggled with getting hospital staff to take her seriously, likely because of her age, and now no one is calling her back. Based on other reviews I'm sure this hospital is great for natal care and the elderly but if you are a young adult I hope to God you have someone older to fight for you to get taken seriously. I hope every single person there who has enabled her level of suffering have the day they deserve.

Had our first born here! Almost a year old by now! Our immediate nurse Andrea was very friendly, helpful, and deserves a raise. Unfortunately the doctor who did my wife's c-section retired shortly after. But did a VERY good job. Would highly recommend and we plan on seeing them again with our second born! Thank you so much!

At 1at I am told I have to transferred to a different hospital because of my lung issue's. A couple hours later I am told I will be admitted for observation because I do not meet the criteria for admission! Meanwhile my oxygen is at 89 to 91%. I have cronic lung issue's and am wheezing with shortness of breathe! If you are sick at all, do not come to this hospital! Horrible. Below is proof of my oxygen levels.

Hy husband just returned home after a very frustrating visit. Here's a rundown of what went wrong: First, the nurse who checked us in at the ER took down my phone number wrong and my husband's email address wrong. Both of these caused issues later as the hospital was trying to contact me, and as we were trying to find his online chart. Then, after two negative covid tests, the ER nurse kept trying to take another test, against my husband's wishes.
And the ER doctor kept trying to scare my husband into allowing it, detailing all kinds of worst-case scenarios. My husband had to actually ask if he had pneumonia. (Yes) No one told him this until he asked. For four hours, he asked for a sleep aid before finally getting it. Oxygen was listed as part of his care plan upon admission, but was not given by the nurse until 8 hours later, even though his sat levels were regularly dropping below 90.
This same nurse made an unprofessional comment without realizing my husband could hear her. Until he was ready to be discharged, he did not have a doctor explain his care and see if he had questions.

Thank you from my heart for being so professional and calming my elderly Father as my sister got him to your emergency room on February 25 2021. They were comforting my Father and even your Emergency Room Physician came out running and since we cannot visit due to covid, our family is confident that he is in good hands. I am so grateful to each and every one of you front lineworkers. This includes all hospital staff.

I LOVE all the nurses at St. Francis but that's about it. I've had to go to the ER multiple times within 3 weeks due to adverse side effects from a steroid drug that they gave me for severe migraine. I dealt with different effects every single day while the med was leaving my system. Each time I went to the ER I was treated like I was basically crazy.and that it's all in my head and that it couldn't be from the medication.
I would also get grief for how many times I've been seen in the ER because of my adverse side effects. I go to an ER wanting to feel safe and taken care of and feel like they'll listen to my concerns about my health.not like a burden to help or an annoyance. I liked St. Francis for the fact also that it's close to my home but unfortunately I feel like I need to search for a new hospital as I feel uncared about in that environment which is the opposite of their job should be.
