Services
Founded in 2007 by Eric D. Grahling, M.D., Comprehensive Pain Management is on a mission to deliver the most advanced pain management therapy to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. CPM was the first pain management practice in the state of Connecticut to receive AAAHC accreditation - Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
The power of the patient-doctor relationship is one of the most valuable and overlooked tools we have in treating pain conditions. A simple conversation between doctor and patient can be the best diagnostic tool and as powerful as many treatments we prescribe. Treatment plans are specifically designed for each patient to reduce pain, improve function and maximize quality of life.
With over 15 years of experience at leading hospitals, Shawn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to CPM. He has supported advancing CPM's patient care model for more than a decade, directing care management, clinical care coordination and integrating newer methods and strategies into the patient's care plan.
After your submission has been reviewed you will be contacted by one of our staff within two business days to schedule your office visit. In most cases, the first visit will take about 40-45 minutes and will be an evaluation, not a procedure. We pride ourselves in getting new patients scheduled for their first visit very quickly.

Stay Away! Billing person is such fraud and confuses you with late fee. Which medical bills get late payment? Nothing is clear and keep adding the amount every month, especially you did not get a proper treatment. Go to a hospital for pain management procedures, not here. I am so unhappy with their service

I have been going to Comprehensive Pain Management of Central Connecticut for over a decade. I am very grateful for this practice. Without their assistance and procedures I wouldn't be able to be the active person I am today. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I appreciate the level of professionalism from all the staff. The staff including Dr. Grahling and the APRNs are always concerned with my health and keeping me pain free. Dr. Grahling is always staying up on the latest pain management techniques and information. I would recommend this practice to anyone seriously interested in staying pain free.

Don't put up with pain. Go to Comprehensive Pain Management of Central Connecticut in Plainville. You will be glad you did. I have been to UConn for back problems and didn't get the results that Dr Grahling administered. He figured out my problem and went to work. I have been back pain free for almost a year. Excellent Dr and Staff. The only place to manage my pain in my golden years!

For more time than i can remember i suffered from neck and shoulder pain as a result of an early teenage head trauma. All the doctors i saw were willing to prescribe medication for the pain but i was not willing to do that. i had temporary relief from an excellent acupuncturist but as i said it was only temporary. I was referred to Comprehensive Pain Management and after a successful trial treatment, I received Radio-wave Therapy and for the first time in almost 40 years i am pain free! Words can't describe how i feel! if you have chronic pain i highly recommend Dr. Eric Grayling and his extremely professional and caring staff

If you have hip pain be aware that Comprehensive Pain Mgt. of Central CT (Dr. Grahling) does not perform hip joint injectons in the groin area. They only do injections in the back for hip pain. I had an appointment scheduled for Monday 7/24 at 1:00. I have a friend that has the same hip pain as I do. She told me she gets the injections in the hip joint.
I did some research on orthopedic websites and found out that the standard procedure for hip pain is a steroid injection directly into the hip joint. They had the results of my hip x-ray. I called the office on Friday around noon. I wanted to talk to Dr. Grahling or Shaun (APRN) but they were gone for the day. I asked the receptionist if Dr. Grahling did give injections for hip pain in the groin area.
She said she didn't know. He would be giving me the injection in my backs and would target the hip area. I found it very strange that she said she didn't know. I called on Monday morning and said I didn't want to have an injection in my back for my hip. I wanted to talk to Shaun. He didn't call me back but asked the staff to tell me to come in so he could explain everything. i cancelled my appointment.
I was sent a bill for $250 late cancellation fee. I called on 8/23 to speek to the office manager regarding the cancellation fee. I asked her the same question, " does Dr. Grahling do hip joint injections, ." She said, "I don't think so." It was like she had to think about it. I feel very strongly that the office staff does know exactly what procedures can be done at Comprehensive Pain Mgt.
My inquriy was simple: does Dr. Grahling do hip joint injections or not. The answer should have been no, he does not. I don't think Dr. Grahling even looked at the results of my x-ray. Not all pain is resolved by an injection in your back. If you don't do a certain procedure, why not say so.
