This place is immaculately clean and the patient to employee ratio is great. As a caregiver for a dementia patient, she was well cared for everytime we were there several times over a number of years. Her CNA Holly on the Med-SURG unit was fantastic and I think it is a testimony to how they treat their employees that we were able and to have the same caring, loving CNA time after time. Also, happy employees are better employees. Once, upon arrival to the ER via ambulance, mom had multiple tests (EKG, blood and chest X-rays) completed before I was even able to arrive in my car, leaving my home at the same time as the ambulance. I LOVE THIS FACILITY AND THEIR EMPLOYEES! They even ensured I had meals and was able to shower while staying with Mom. Thank you so much to HCH!

I have been very disappointed with the care my sister is receiving. This is our 3rd er visit for the same complaint. On our 3rd visit, I feel like she would have been ignored if I was not here. Her machines beeped for at least 3 to 4 minutes. I go to the door to tell someone, and her nurse says oh I'm coming. Like when? He leaves and her other machine starts beeping.

Another 3 to 4 minutes I go to the door AGAIN for them to look up at their monitors, go oh, and turn it off from there. It was the most lazy and uncaring thing I have seen in an er. No checking on her. No watching the machines until I say something. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Took a blow to the head by a metal pole, and came to the ER to be checked out. Very nice facility, expedient and friendly staff. Took care of me quickly, and I was back home in record time. Since we're new to the area, I am so glad to know that this facility is nearby and offers such good care.

I was treated excellent at this hospital. My husband has also been a patient here and feels the same. He has gotten required tests done here and was treated most graciously. He had some serious health issues and was recommended to another hospital in Louisville. While here at Harrison County he was treated wonderfully. He was kept comfortable as possible and was properly well taken care of.

The doctor was very knowledgeable and professional and treated us well with a down to earth and understandable way of speaking and we both fully understood about my husbands health needs. I was also a patient here for a few days and was treated excellent.

This is probably one of the worst hospitals in this country, not only in patient care but in the criminality of the billing department. My daughter went here with stomache pain. Received a pain medicine and a naseau medicine. The bill was close to $4000.00.after insurance it cost me 1400.00. She was not given a diagnosis.or a referral or even any xrays or any imaging whatsoever.

I paid the bill in full and for some reason I get bills for $36.00 every few months and have to go through the hassle of calling for them to correct this problem so that it doesnt go to collections and damage my credit. I don't know how this facility is open, but it is painfully clear that they do not care about the patients at all and are only concerned with money.

I will bleed to death going to New Albany before I ever step foot in this nightmare of a "hospital" ever again. If I keep getting these "bills" I think there will be a letter to the ethics board and some lawyers involved.

#1 for ER visits! We had a 3 hour wait today because the ER was more crowded than I had ever seen before. I've only been here a few times with my kids, but usually you wait less than 20 min. Today was busy, but worth the wait. The staff are very friendly and caring. Kelsey, nurse practitioner, was the best. She was very knowledgeable in explaining my inner ear problem and super empathetic! 5 stars!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We have never had to wait in the ER more than five minutes. The staff and doctors are all so nice and caring! My family and I have had visits many times, had stays and surgery and we have nothing but great things to say. Don't let the low rating fool you!

This place is a mixed bag, to be honest. A lot of the people here are great, but some of them you don't want to cross. For instance, on 7/3/21, my grandfather had a heart attack and came here needing a new stent put in. Blood thinners were the only thing keeping him alive. The guy in charge of the ER looked at him and told him, "You can go home." The doctor gave my grandfather that advice, knowing the shape he was in, and knowing that my grandfather would die if he took it. Fortunately, my grandfather didn't listen to him.

Another time, my grandmother came here because she was in terrible pain. They didn't do anything for her and because of the position they kept her in, she left in worse pain than when she arrived. Another time, my grandfather was in the hospital and was given a medically unnecessary catheter. The physician overseeing him didn't even know a catheter had been inserted and ordered it removed immediately.

Some people in this place need a new field of work. If you or your loved one is in bad shape, you may not be able to trust them to act in yours or your loved one's best interests. Be sure you have someone of sound mind with you to look out for you.

Last night Sunday January 23, 2022 I was treated like a dog in this ER by the ER doctor and the nurse. They yelled at me and the doctor demanded an answer as to why I did not get the vaccine. Which is totally my choice not theirs to make! I have covid and they didn't even take my temperature. I have had a fever for over a week and the wouldn't do anything.

The doctor lied to me and said he would call in prescriptions but cvs called me today and said only one was called in and they wouldn't have it till end of the week. This place is a joke!

I have already left one review on this ER but here's another. I already had to wait an hour maybe a little more in the ER waiting room and once they have me in the ER room finally I waiting over a hour in there to. So I call the nurse and she tells me I will be waiting even longer. The not so funny thing is I can hear them laughing and joking around don't sound like there even trying to get people throw.

I am completely annoyed. They have no regard to how people feel. and to top it all this has to be the dirtiest hospital I've ever been in. Trust me I would not be here if I didn't have to be.

Not me, but family members in the area. My uncle had knee surgery and woke up with a busted lip and a chipped tooth. He told them that because of his bad back he couldn't lay flat on the table and needed a muscle relaxer to keep his back from spasming. It sounds as though they didn't listen.

Their quality control officer needs to come in and handle the issues in the imaging department. I have had nothing but issues for 2 weeks. It started with my doctor faxing an order for an MRI. Two weeks go by and I heard nothing. In the meantime my primary care schedules me a mammogram and ultrasound due to some issues. I go to the appointment and they don't have it in their books and state that they don't have an order either.

While there I question the MRI order and process. I am told that they don't call patients when orders are received and that they have 100 of them stacked waiting for patients to call. There is obviously a break down in communication as the doctors are obviously unaware of this evidenced by the 100 orders. I end up scheduling my MRI and mammo/ultrasound for the same day as it is a bit of a drive for me to get there.

I also drive to my primary care office and get an order for the Mammo. On the way to the appointments I get a call cancelling and asking to reschedule my mammo due to the doctor having a family emergency. While checking into the MRI appointment, I am asked to see my paperwork which included the mammo order. I am told that they already have that order and need one for ultrasound! What?

You told me that you didn't have an order at all the week prior when I showed up for the original appointment! Ugh! I will say that the MRI tech was awesome and I had no problems with the performing of the procedure. However, the people that are at the front desk in the imaging department are obviously clueless. Unfortunately these are the folks that set that first impression patients get of the hospital.

Went in for chest pains in the stomach area. Repeatedly told them it was radiating from my stomach. I had previously been to another hospital to have my heart checked out and it was in perfect shape. Yet they refused to check my stomach and did a full heart check. Went to my regular doctor as soon as I could get in and had a stomach infection. Now they turned me into collections because I refused to pay for a service that did nothing and went against what I asked about and told them about. Go elsewhere for better service where they will actually check what you're complaining about And not rip you off in the process

I went in for a pretty nasty infection on my finger, I have been to this hospital several times for myself and my children. This visit was different on an entire new level. I was seen my a nurse practitioner by the name of Carmen. She was the best I have ever had in this hospital. Her bedside manner was amazing, I felt like a patient and not just someone stuck in a room. Good move Harrison County Hospital you have added a very well needed touch of class.

I've changed my mind. After a couple of trips to the ER with Sexy Beast, it has become clear to me that the fresh paint and smiling faces are a diversionary tactic. The care he received was abysmal. No one seems to be able to handle anything more severe than a hang nail or a stubbed toe.
