Dental implants are replacement teeth that look, feel, and function just like a natural tooth. Just like a natural tooth's root, the implant creates a secure foundation for the crown. This fully restores your ability to eat and chew your favorite foods without any removable appliances or discomfort.
Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars to grow in the back of the mouth. They usually develop during your teens or early twenties after all of the other adult teeth have developed. There is often not enough room for an additional set of molars. This is why dental experts recommend having wisdom teeth extracted as soon as possible by an oral surgeon.
At Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, we offer the full scope of oral and maxillofacial services. Dr. Robert Wood, Dr. Nicholas Coles, Dr. Negin Saghafi, and Dr. Jerome Holbrook have undergone extensive training and will provide you and your loved ones with a superior standard of care. When you visit our office for any procedure, you can be confident that you will be treated compassionately in a welcoming environment by board-certified specialists.A dental implant can fully restore a missing or failing tooth with a long-lasting, natural-looking replacement.

This is my third dental implant and I would have to say, this time around was a piece of cake. I had no pain after the procedure and the healing process was a success. I also appreciated the check ins from the office staff while I was healing. I wish Dr. Coles would have done my other two implants. I highly recommend. Thanks again Dr. Coles.

I got my wisdom teeth removed here at the recommendation from my dentist. Very smooth procedure and recovery with no complications. All of the staff were friendly and professional. They ensured I was ready for both pre- and post-procedure, and helped me understand the how and why if everything. Highly recommended!

I've had two implants done by Dr. Coles. I had a great experience in both cases. I would highly recommend Dr. Coles and his professional staff without any hesitation whatsoever. They followed up several times to make sure I was healing up and there were no complications. I really appreciate the excellent treatment I received.

Dr Nicholas J Coles is amazing! A true professional. He did my surgery with no issues. He listens to me without making me feel rushed, very caring. He followed up to see how I am doing, that's something you dont get today. If in need of a great oral surgeon dont hesitate to call his team. Thank you Cynthia

The best experience I've ever had with Dr Coles and his staff! I had to have a tooth extracted and an implant started. I was devastated about the situation and so upset. Dr Coles made me feel so much better! I've never met an oral surgeon so caring and showing so much empathy! I always have so much anxiety about having my teeth done, and I must say I did not feel anything.
The staff called a few times to check on me which was so amazing! Believe me you don't get that kind of follow up these days! Dr Coles and my reg dentist even sent me a beautiful Orchid. I highly recommend him and his staff. The best experience I've ever had.

My primary dentist recommended this practice for a wisdom tooth that needed to come out. After reviewing the X-ray Dr. Cole told me that yes, the wisdom tooth should be extracted and that general anesthesia would be required especially since the roots of the tooth were so close to the nerve. Dr. Cole did not offer any other solution or suggest another form of treatment.
I decided to do some research since I am over 60 and worried about the possible permanent nerve damage. I discovered that there is a procedure called a coronectomy. A coronectomy is often recommended when the tooth's roots are close to important nerves, to avoid nerve damage especially with patients over 40 years old. I visited another oral surgery office with my x-ray and they discussed both options, the removal and the coronectomy and the Oral surgeon suggested that the coronectomy was the best option for me.
I appreciated that Dr Schmidt at Casas Adobes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery took the time to explain both options and why the coronectomy was the best and safest procedure for me. I would highly recommend Casas Adobes Oral Surgery based upon my experience.

AZOMS is the worst oral surgery office you can go to in Tucson. They over work their staff. They talk negative to them in front of patients in the rooms. I don't like this office they don't properly schedule appointments and the whole lobby is always filled with people they don't follow COVID protocols. They clearly are under staffed and it's super unprofessional. They're always on the go and don't even take the time to properly exam your area of concern they're so quick to dismiss you so they can bring in the next patient back. DONT GO their if they don't respect their employees they're not gonna respect their patients!

I never leave reviews but I walked out of there crying. Please do your research and go elsewhere. It took longer filling out the paperwork than it did for the doctor to see me about my visit. She didn't even go over my teeth in the X-ray, but actually pointed out my sinus infection instead of what I was there for. After that, a young lady at the front desk printed off my bill, for $3,000.
That would've been $1,000 per tooth extraction. Couldn't be me. I asked if there was any way I could make payments and she proudly told me, "You could pay half now and half the day of." I brought up the CareCredit brochure that I saw in front of me but she said she didn't know how that worked. So I obviously didn't feel welcomed so I cried.
The ladies at the front desk sat three to one computer but not one greeted me when I came in but were quick to tell me "have a great day" as I'm walking out crying. I'm upset because all the reviews here are great which only gets me thinking if they're fake. Please go anywhere else but here!

We spent the summer in Tucson visiting my parents and since my daughter had to get her wisdom teeth out anyway, we decided to have it done in Tucson. A local orthodontist recommended AZOMS and we had a fantastic experience. From the consultation through to the recovery, Dr. Wood and his staff were professional, caring and informative. We were limited on time, so they scheduled the procedure within two days of the consultation and even scheduled an extra follow up appointment to make sure my daughter was okay to travel home.
When my daughter started to experience more pain than what I thought was normal, I called and they had us come in right away. She had developed dry sockets and the treatment they gave her made her feel better immediately. At our second follow up appointment, Holly at the Oro Valley office was really terrific - so patient and kind. I highly recommend AZOMS to anyone. I would even consider traveling back to Tucson to have my other daughters' wisdom teeth extractions done. Thank you Dr. Wood and staff at AZOMS!

I brought my sons to see Dr Wood before they had braces. One of my sons needed some work that required it to be done out patient in the hospital. Dr Wood was fantastic. Later that evening he called to check in and see how my son was doing. He is definitely cares about his patients. Never had such great care from a Dr. 5 stars is not enough to express his professionalism.

My son saw Dr. Coles when he had to have his wisdom teeth extracted. The entire office, as well as Dr. Coles, was completely professional and kind natured. When my son had to suddenly go back because of an infection, Dr. Coles got him into surgery within 30 minutes and resolved the situation. I can't express how wonderful this office and staff are.

I had a tooth break under a crown and was referred by local dentist. Took a while to get me in and then a while longer for procedure, and putting up with the pain for three weeks wasn't great, but caring staff and reasonable prices would bring me back. Dr. Coles was good. I suspect that if it had been an emergency rather than painful annoyance I could have gotten palliative care quicker. I would recommend.

When my husband had an unexpected need for an emergency tooth extraction and implant, the people at Arizona Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery took fantastic care of him. Since this was very last-minute for us, we had no particular expectations and would probably have tolerated much less, as long as they took care of the problem. So it was a wonderful surprise, especially emerging as it did amid all of the pain and turmoil of a bad tooth, that we found ourselves in such a great spot.
The doctors are fantastic, but they perform most of their work while you're 'under', so it's the results that speak loudest in that regard - and we've been very pleased. As for the facilities, staff, schedules, etc. - everything was perfect: flawlessly clean, relaxing and comfortable, compassionate professionalism, friendly and accommodating support staff, the list goes on. Let's hope we never have to go back, but if fate has other plans, we certainly know where to go!

Visited Dr. Wood for two wisdom teeth extraction about three weeks ago. Arrived about ten min late due to not being able to find the clinic because there is no clear signage on the street and had to wait an hour for my appointment which was booked in advance. I've noticed that other customers claim that even when arriving on time you still need to wait an hour on average for your appointment.
The lobby is freezing as is the operation room so make sure you wear something warm. The nurses and the doctor, although polite, don't make you feel relaxed at all, on contrary, the whole process was rushed, stressed and I'd say quite rough. I used Novocaine and laughing gas, the mask was almost thrown on my face and I had to adjust it myself.
Doctor came in, quickly made two injections and almost immediately started extracting. Luckily one of my teeth already started getting numb so I only felt the pressure but extraction of the other one was quite painful because the doc didn't wait till it gets numb. I would say it was not an extreme but a moderate pain, but I just sucked it up (I usually handle pain well) to get it over with although I can see how others wouldn't be able to bear the pain.
It seemed like all the staff was in a hurry so they didn't pay much attention to what you feel or need. Upon leaving the clinic all the staff mentioned that I can call them any time (even off hours) with any questions or concerns and right after I got home I did call their outside- work- hours number because I had some concerns about the way my sockets looked like (which turned out to be nothing to worry about after I googled it) and a staff member wrote down my questions (or so he said) and said that someone will get back to me right away.
That was on Friday afternoon and nobody got back to me till Monday. Luckily there were no issues but I don't understand why they encourage you to call back with any questions if nobody returns the calls. Overall the process was successful but I don't think I would be coming back if I need other procedures done.

THANK YOU DOCTOR WOOD! He saw me last minute this last weekend when an unfortunate swelling of my wisdom teeth kicked in. I saw in an immense amount of pain, thanks to seeing me so quickly (and last minute from my end) I was able to catch the infection before it got any worse. Three days later I can eat again and the swelling has gone done. Awesome guy!

I was sent to AZOMS from Dr. Rodney Gold. I took my 16 year old son in for evaluation of his wisdom teeth removal. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. We saw Dr. Wood, he completely explained everything to my son and asked him if he had any concerns. His staff scheduled him for removal the following week. I took my son in at 7:30 am - he and I were both nervous.
The procedure was only 40 min and then my son was in recovery. The staff checked on him regularly - Dr. Wood spoke to me and said everything was good. Told me to call with any concerns. This is one week later from removal and my son is playing football, eating, acting like nothing ever happened! Dr. Wood has my approval for all teeth removal - Only took my son 1 real down day and then he was feeling better.
He did not even need any of the pain meds, only Ibuprofen. This guy is AWESOME in my book! Would not even think of taking my kids or me anywhere else! Thank you for making what we thought was going to be a horrible experience very uneventful and easy!

I went in to see AZOM as a same day appointment referred by dentist because I had a really bad tooth that my dentist wouldn't consider pulling. When I got there the staff was very accommodating and attentive. They were able to get my insurance info with no hassle. I waited about 10-15 minutes before I got to meet the doctor. He simply explained that my tooth was going to be no problem to get out and he could be done with me in less than 20 minutes. Instantly I had doubts since my regular dentist made it seem like my tooth was super complicated to pull out.
He numbed me with a shot and once I was numbed he got to work and it literally was no longer than 5 minutes tops and he was already done. It seemed so effortless compared to what I had thought it would be. The entire staff was very kind and helpful. They called my the same day to make sure I was feeling ok. I know I will have to come back to see for other teeth extractions and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They did an amazing job from start to finish. I was very impressed. I've referred co-workers and family members to him as well. Great office!

After three dentists told me I needed to get my wisdom teeth out, I finally gave in. I was referred to AZOMS by my dentist. The front desk staff was okay, but not as professional as I've seen elsewhere. During my consultation, I had to get those awful x-rays where they stick the plastic rings in your mouth. First go, she took images of the wrong teeth.
Second go, she said her computer crashed, the third go worked. I went to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper or soap. Glad I carry antibacterial lotion in my purse. My surgery day was smooth. By no fault of theirs, I got two dry sockets. Shudder. It was awful, but they were very good about getting me in for four follow-ups over one week. The problem was that on three of these four visits, I waited close to or over an hour. The doctor was great, the location is great, and I feel like the surgery itself went well, but there are definitely some kinks that could be worked out.
