Dr. Charles B. Idom Jr. grew up in a small town in East Texas. Dr. Idom obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1994.
If you are found to have a kidney mass that needs treatment, make sure you see a urologist that offers all of the latest minimally invasive treatment options. Most urologists today do not offer these options and will do open surgery on every patient! There is no need to have a big, painful incision in most cases.
Your body's testosterone levels are important for regulating your strength, muscle mass, bone mass, sex drive, sperm development, and even the production of your red blood cells. Testosterone levels that are too low for your body can have a negative impact on how you feel. Symptoms of low testosterone include fatigue, depression, irritability, loss of lean muscle mass, erectile dysfunction, and low sex drive.
Treating kidney stone disease depends largely on the size, position and number of stones in your system. Luckily, the majority of small stones (0.2 inch or 5 mm in diameter) that are not causing infection, blockage or symptoms will pass if you simply drink plenty of fluids each day. Consuming two to three quarts of water increases urine production, which eventually washes kidney or other stones out of the system. Once they have passed, no other treatment is necessary. The doctor usually asks one to save the passed stone(s) for testing.

These people are cold and money hungry. My husband has pancreatic cancer and kidney stones 13 mm big. He is waiting on one form to receive financial help from Hamilton medical center. This office refused to see him and set up payment arrangements. They are the only urologist in Dalton. They don't care about nothing but money

From the office staff to the doctors, I have always been treated with respect and professionalism. My providers (Dr. Idom, Dr. Veys, and Melodi Lewis Carvour, BS-PA-C) have always explained everything to me in terms I can understand and have allowed me to choose my own options of treatment, making sure I understand the pros and cons of each one. Melodi always makes me feel comfortable and at ease, and she has an excellent sense of humor, which is a huge plus for me. NGUC has gone out of their way to accomodate me more than once; I can't imagine switching care providers to another facility.

THANK YOU Dr. Veys and Staff! Our family recently moved to Georgia and had to re-establish all of our Drs. This is not an easy thing to do, ( especially when one of your family members require specialized medical care). Dr. Veys staff made it easy to get a much needed appointment along with several follow-up appointments. After our initial appointment and testing, he discussed the findings with us and answered many questions.
We never felt rushed and he made sure we understood everything with clarity. Dr. Veys was able to give us a proper diagnosis and a much better plan of treatment. His entire office worked with us to get the proper medication that requires pre-authorizations in a timely manner. They also helped us through the painsakenly process of getting a specialist that was going to be needed.
One last thing that we hold near and dear is when a doctors office calls you back when they say they are going to with resolve! Thank you again for helping us down the path to "better" health!

Dr Joesph Veys analyzed and chose the best form of treatment for my lodged kidney stone. I am very grateful that he was in Cookeville during this time and was able to put in a stent and retrieve the stone. Prior to surgery he came to my room was very kind and explained what would be happening during the surgery. After talking with him I knew that I was in good hands. He is professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Thank you Dr. Veys. I wish you much joy and peace in your life.

I would highly recommend Dr. Veys to any man having pain or just needing a check up. I went to the ER in tremendous pain come to find I had a 9mm kidney stone. Dr. Veys and his staff helped me quickly and kept me informed every step of the way on what needed to be done step by step. They made the process painless as possible and treated me respectfully the whole time keeping me physically and mentally as comfortable as they could. I thank him and his staff for doing an amazing job for me.

Let me start off by saying that my low review has nothing to do with the doctor I saw, Dr. Idom, but has everything to do with the front office staff. Dr Idom was very helpful, answered all my questions, and gave great & helpful advice. I am disappointed in the manner the front office conducts itself because it seems like a lot of patients have left due to their behavior.
Not only could my physician's office who recommended me to N GA Urology not get anyone on the line to schedule my appointment, but I too found myself being placed on hold only to be told minutes later I would receive a call back that never happened. After waiting days for that return call, I took it upon myself to call back again only to be placed on hold and then finally spoken to.
When I had to call to reschedule, I was told again that someone would call me back and I explained to them that I've been told that before and no one ever does call, she guaranteed me that someone would call me before the end of the day. I'll never how long I would have had to wait because I called this morning to cancel a follow up appointment. (During this call attempt, I called FOUR times & constantly got a busy tone.
I don't know any office that only has one incoming call line. Wouldn't surprise me if phone calls were simply ignored.) Yes, all offices have a problem with returned calls but it seems like every time I call someone is out at "lunch" and I have to wait on someone else to make a note for someone else to follow up with someone else. All of that culminated with the very uncomfortable first visit where, even though I am a completely new patient that has never been to this clinic before, I was treated like I didn't know anything and yet wasn't explained any of the processes of this office & what they would need from me. It was a very unfortunate experience and it's sad that the front office is what discourages patients from returning to see good doctors.

There are many good doctors but rare to find A GREAT doctor, however Dr Vey is that, a great doctor. I have found Him to be extremely knowledgeable in his field of medicine and what surprised me the most, He remembers the conversation we had on a previous visit! He knows what the correct steps are in order to put you back on track with your life and truly wants to help you! If you are looking for a great doctor that wants you to have a better quality of life, please don't hesitate in calling him. I very highly recommend Dr Vey!

The Veterans Hospital In Nashville sent me to North Georgia Urology because I live so close to them. I am so glad they did. Everybody that helped me, and there were several, was very nice and very Professional. I could tell that they were interested in me and wanted to help. Dr Idom is very warm and sincere. I appreciate that. I'd give them 10 stars if it was available.
