This hospital needs to be shut down. Most people in the bronx are lower class so they think we don't deserve basic human rights. I had a stroke and they told me nothing was wrong. I wound up going to a hospital in manhattan where they were MORTIFIED that they told me nothing was wrong. They actually took down the doctors name. Horrible disgusting and ghetto.
All the nurses there are ghetto and the doctors are from other counties. Very horrible. There are many other hospitals in NYC that are amazing. Do not waste your time going here save your time and most importantly save your life.

I have been going to this hospital since I was 6 yrs old, and I most say that the only complaint I have is the nasty unprofessional ppl that they have working on the phones. They are one of the nasties rude ppl I have ever deal with. It's Sad that because ppl like them this hospital have a really bad reputation. They should all be retrained. Other wise this hospital have saved my live multiple times, and both of my kids.
When I was 25 yrs old, about to be 10 yrs ago, OMG. I was induced because of medical reasons and after giving birth I had 2 TIA's ( a small stroke) I remember my blood pressure was 215/196 at a point. This hospital saved my love and of my baby. I will add that the is one one of a few times they have saved my life. Every hospital has bad employees like everyone else. But I most say I was treated there and I can go on and on about experiences my family member and I have about Bronx care.

As the Covid Pandemic percentage of people sick goes down so should the regulations of this hospital with being able to visit our loved ones. With the hospital having a short staff issue and patients not being able to get the care they 100% need this is something the hospital management should consider and look over. We the family need to advocate for our sick loved. Really poor from this hospital. I will escalate this further.

Seeing that my grandfather was having a clear malfunction in his brain and was behaving slightly erratic for a usually healthy 75 year old man, they "sedated" him. He never woke up. Throughout his "care" they couldn't figure out what was happening in his brain. All tests were "negative". I have a hard time believing they did any tests and solely kept him there to get what they could out of his Medicaid before they let him die.
He experienced multiple infections and a pneumonia because they NEVER changed his breathing tube and ultimately passed. We never got to find out what why any of this happened. My grandmother also died in this hospital and experienced abuse at the hand of the nurses and doctors in this facility. Don't send your family here unless you want them to die from inadequate care and mentally deficient staff. I hope every single one of you that works in this death house experiences loss in the same way I have.

This hospital is not only understaffed but the little bit of staff they have are unprofessional. starting with a Hispanic EKG nurse, whom seem to have an attitude like I owed her something. Once on the waiting room inside, I could hear the nurses whispering amongst each other about patients that are laying down in pain. It's SIMPLE, if you don't like your JOB, don't do it. Find another one! Yes you go in and out quickly but no one cares for you.

The doctors at this hospital are lazy.what happened to the times when you went to see your doctor and you was put in a gown and had a real physical. When I was called in the office they ask why I'm here and what is happening to me medically so she can refer me out. I need a real doctor from the 90s that did everything. I'm only giving 2 stars because the doctor was nice.

This is the most discriminatory, lack of organization, non friendly hospital I have encountered! My aunt was a patient here just a few weeks ago and the care she received was absolutely terrible. To make matters worst they discharged her in two days. Then they proceeded to give her another appt a week later to be readmitted. When she arrived on her scheduled appt date the doctor (John miller) sent a nurse out to let her know that he would not be seeing her that day.
They said she had Covid without even testing her! They nurses refused to test her on spot to assure that it was true. My aunt is currently using a walker and needs surgery (which is why she was admitted by referral from her primary doctor). while talking to the nurse about testing so she could be seen on her appt date, because it's very difficult for her to move around.
The nurse decided to call security to kick my aunt out of the hospital in the freezing cold on a walker With no transport! The security guard was not mean & tried to console her. Overall the way the nurse humiliated my aunt was unnecessary. This hospital staff let my aunt come in for a scheduled appt instead of giving her a courtesy call prior to the date so she wouldn't have to arrange a ride to get there and get kicked out as a result of negligence!
Very rude & I will be filing more paperwork to get to the bottom of this. I would never recommend this place to anyone if you love your family. Everyone should be treated with respect regardless of your disability.

I gave birth here and I would to say the nurses and doctors are very well prepared unless you are prepared. Treat them with respect and I'm sure you will get the same. I have not had one issue with this hospital especially during such an important event in my life. The midwives, this one nurse who was truly an angel, Ms. Kimberlynn, another nurse Ms. Marisol, too many to name. Come in educated of your rights as a patient, I'm sure you will have a pleasant experience.

A nightmare experience, I brought my 81 year old mom to this hospital for a cat scan a little after 10am. Did not get out until 3pm, my mom had to remove all her jewelry. We left so frustrated that we didn't realize until she got home and wanted to put her jewelry back on that it was gone. Tried calling the hospital, , after waiting long periods of time for someone to answer, they answer and then hang up like they can't hear you. Although there were some people who provided good service the overall experience was terrible. The front desk is very disorganized.

I was very impressed with the level of care my father received from the ambulance to ER, and CCU. My father suffered a heart attack without realizing. The admitting doctor in ER admitted him and the cardiology dept took over and transferred him to the CCU unit. The internal doctors and Dr. Vittorio (cardiologist) took care of my out of state 90 year old father.
This hospital knows what they are doing. The entire team at CCU are on top of their game. They were knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely attentive. I've dealt with many hospitals and doctors throughout the years due to aging parents and I have to say hands down the CCU team rocks! If you are ever in need of a cardiologist it's worth the schlep to the Bronx to see Dr. Vittorio. Dr. Vittorio is hard to find in this day and age.

Along with about 10 of our friends we found out about Bronx Care giving the Covid vaccinations. Every one of us were very impressed with the process from making the appointment by telephone to getting the shot at the Mt. Eden and Grand Concourse locations. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the process was seamless.

STAY AWAY! Negative - 0 stars. Please avoid this hospital by all means. They have extremely poor patient care. They treat there patients like cattle. Most doctors don't care, don't communicate, don't make you feel comfortable. My husband was alone and doctors failed to communicate with us even knowing that my husband was not well. They took full advantage and ran unnecessary test, in which they failed to speak to my husband about any treatment plan or what's going on with him.
He felt like he was going to die. We waited down stairs for him for hours and no one despite our concerns had the decency to tell us what is going on. We called for hours and waited downstairs. My husband said he expresses how he was hungry and weak because of the amount of blood they where taking out and staff laughed! Completely unacceptable! So called health care professionals!
They take advantage of patients in vulnerable states. Please do not trust them with your health, with your families, with your friends! Please anyone who has had bad experiences with this hospital please speak up. Don't settle for this hospital because it's close to you. Take care of your health. There are doctors and organizations and that love what they do and strive to save lives. This is an unethical place! Not to mention. Waiting area is not abiding by cdc guidelines for Covid. Waiting rooms swamped!

Giving this SO CALLED HOSPITAL A ONE STAR IS A LOT! I would not even bother to bring my pets here for care! My Vet would probably give me better service then this place and staff! How is that I have provided my Mom's medicine 4 times and they have yet to give any! And they are wondering why her heartrate is irregular and her sugar is high! An idiot can see what going on! Also you report that her bathroom is not working and they want her to not shower or just shower with cold water! Now tell what kind of service this hospital provides!

I was extremely impressed with their MRI and nuclear Medicine department. The staff here was not only very professional but they also had the best State of the Art equipment in line with other hospital like NYU medical. What was even more impress was how Mr Eric Bates had his entire team working in such great professional cohesion with each other making sure that his team were professional and prepared.
He also ensures that each of the patients know what to expect and that charts were complete and equipment up to par. Nicole, the young lady in the front, was extremely warm and kind to every patient who entered no matter what their socioeconomic background appeared to be. She even knew her retuning patients in a 1st name basis. The space was very clean, and well maintained. There was no over crowding and long waiting. Exceptional Job. Keep up the good work.

I just tried to get help with my appointment and got hung up on. I really don't know nothing about their services and wanted help with my transportation and they didn't tell me to hold on they just hung up the phone on me. How can appointments be made for someone and they don't even know it the patient is available for the appointment. The phone call was the worse ever. Now I don't even want to go to the clinic at all.

I'm sure that there's a level of seriousness needed when reviewing businesses here on Yelp. I'm also sure most people who don't necessarily research ratings or prior customer experiences may think Yelp is just a holy grail of complaints - but this is when reviews can save other people their time, their efforts and their sanity. shit, maybe even their life. Don't waste your time.
From endless phone calls to this health center and others under the same management, no clear instructions and the extreme hassle to get my own medical records all I have to say is this has been a nightmare. If you ever do get in contact with anyone at these places they'll fail to clearly explain guidelines, time expectancies and simply courtesy to your time. Commuting from Manhattan to the Bronx just to fill out a form they could have mentioned on the phone is not worth the trouble. Please do more research and find a health center that is supportive and efficient when it comes to your HEALTH, your WELL-BEING, your LIFE.

I see Dr. Ivonne Cruz at POE Medical center (a bronx care clinic) and she is one of the best pcp doctors I've ever seen. She is attentive and genuinely concerned with any health complains I may have. She makes sure to check me thoroughly via blood work and specialists before choose to prescribe unnecessary medication. At the main hospital the facilities are clean and waiting time varies between 30-45 minutes depending on patient a in waiting area.
The ob/gyn staff is warm and friendly and address my concerns in a professional manner. This hospital has a bad reputation but it's really not as bad as others complain or suggest. Overall, this expanding hospital has improved its level of care.

ER visiting hours: 30-minute visits every two hours on their schedule. Leaving you to wonder what is really going on with your sick or injured loved one. I can think of only one reason to have such a secretive policy, and that's because they want to not take care of patients without their visitors to speak up for them. I've visited jails with better visiting policies.

This place was absolutely terrible After having been in a car accident and suffering back and neck injury's i was left with no medical attention, pain meds, or even a glass of water! I was left waiting to see a doctor for 4 hours! When your in pain 4 hours feels like 8so understand this experiment was truly terrible. I was given a very uncomfortable neck brace and told to continue to wait i would never recommend this hospital not even to a dying dog! DO NOT GO THERE What I will say is that It seems as tho the pct's care more about the patients then the doctors and nurses do And i found that the cat scan tech was also pretty awesome.
In my opinion i received better service in the cafe downstairs then i did in the emergency room not to mention Im they put my best friend out who had accompanied me to the er in the first place because It was "after visiting hours" they are truly just terrible!

This is probably the most inefficient hospital. My pregnant girlfriend has waited 28 minutes standing up with breathing problem to be registered. Theres no waiting area with chairs in the registration area. I had to take a chair from the registration window so she can sit. I asked the lady doing absolutely nothing at the registration window how long it would be.
She replied with a rude attitude hence why her picture is used for my review. After the registration we went into triage. The lady taking her vitals was pretty fast. She wasnt pleasant at all and acted as if everything told is a lie. It took about 2 hours to finally enter the Emergency room. While we were there no on checked on her and she had to result to her asthma pump which at the time was not helping with her breathing.
I feel a place that recieves $5 for a bandaid and thousands of dollars per visit.should conduct there selves as such. We spend $800 monthly on medical insurance and are responsible for the first $5000 of medical bills. For an industry to recieve this type of monetary gain and treat their customers w ith this disregard is comoletely unacceptable.

I came to visit a close friend of mine here and one thing I've noticed is (No one checks I.D.) very bad if you ask me. Before, years ago they used to check I.D. what happened? Anyone can come in this hospital with a gun and no one will notice. Once I reached my friend room all I hear is loud talking mean while they have a sign on the wall that says: SHHH!
Silent Hospital Help Healing Which all is misleading! I would definitely transfer to NY Presbyterian Hospital. And not to mention a dirty rooms, no soap to wash your hands and no hand sanitizer in this hospital. Some of the nurses were nice though.

My mother suffered from a brain aneurysm on March 11, 2015. She was in the ICU on the 4th floor for 3 weeks and 3 days and is now in recovery on the 7th floor. We all visit her everyday. The doctors, nurses, and pct's have been extremely patient and kind. We don't know how long she'll be here but it's good knowing she's in the hands of people who really care. Bronx Lebanon is where all of my primary physicians (GYN, dermatology, dental, etc) are and have been located since I was born and I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. Recommendations: Dental: Dr. Brown or Dr. Morgan GYN: Dr. Simmons General Health: Dr. Gomez

True to the end, Hypocrites and not honest in there dealings with us. PRI reports which were to be sent to Rehab facilities for my mother in Law, They chose to only send it to One of our 3 choices. They never sent reports to our first choice or to the Facility my brother in law heads as an OCT professional. How do we know this? The facilities were contacting us to let us know that they had received incomplete reports.
They attempted to reach the hospital for the Pri's and calls were never returned. Lesson learned to not sign discharge papers until they prove to you that these reports have been received and that all places have had the opportunity to respond. The location they gave the business too would you believe has someone there once a week. Conflict of interest?
Use your resources and if you have a personal doctor get him or her involved. Someone said to me its a Bronx Hospital what can you expect? Expect to be taken care of professionally. The decision makers hold them to task it is there job. Let me be clear the nurses and nurses aids were amazing and took great care of my mother in law. Our family was truly grateful for this. Peace
