Terrible office, I got charged $25 for not being able to make an appointment because I was held up at another appointment. Then charged me $35 to pierce my child's ears then told me I would have to pay another $35 since my my child's right earlobe closed up then they don't even want to write a referral for you, I had to be aggressive just to get one! The billing dept is trash. They are unprofessional and inconsiderate of the patients. Please take your child elsewhere this place is a disgrace!

We LOVE Dr Lorts, but I am seriously considering switching practices. The front desk NEVER answers the phone. The past two visits I have sat outside for 15-20 minutes with sick kids waiting for them to answer my messages. They act like we are late for our appointments, when in reality we are early and just waiting on them to answer their phone. They won't let us come inside to check in because of COVID symptoms, which is understandable, but answer your phone or send the text messages like you're suppose to. So frustrating!

I have enjoyed all the providers. They all have very different personalities which maybe is a reason people are thrown off. There are many ways people can present as kind, caring, and present. I have always appreciated their care because it is solid, knowledgeable, and evidence-based. We mainly see Allison and Dr. Satterly, and I trust them. They know the kids very well (and me.) and engage them each time in a good way.
I have littles and teens and the approach is to the child which is how it should be. As my kids are teens now, they have started addressing them about more sensitive topics and letting them take more ownership. We have had talks in which they draw the line and refer, which I appreciate. They know what is going on in the area, which is helpful. They are very busy, so if you want them to be at a slower pace, you may be disappointed.
There have been A LOT of staff turnover. In looking at reviews, it is hard to get ahold of them by phone, but I LEAVE A MESSAGE. I think I've had 1 instance where they didn't call me within an hour. Otherwise, I leave a message and hear back from them. If I call the triage/med lines, they call during the day. Regarding immunizations/vaccinations, there is a lot of pressure, but that is obvious and understanding considering their jobs and presence in the community. I have a convo every year about the flu shot; it is a pain, but after 7yrs, it is what it is. We know this on both sides.

We switched pediatric offices after several disappointing appointments. I was referred to Dr. Young and yet to be disappointed. From the very first appointment, the doctors took the time to get to know my daughter and her needs (severe allergies, eczema and asthma). They listened to my concerns instead of brushing them off as the former office did.
In 2019, when I knew my daughter was sick, the previous office told me she was fine. We had a follow up with Dr. Young and discovered she had mono. It's so nice to know that the doctors in this office care about my child and strive to get her the best possible care.

Absolute joke. My son has allergies and has for quite some time. Of course this is allergy season. We kept him home for the day because of his head congestion. School requires an allergy note. Called and set up a telehealth appointment. Simple and easy. Nope. Allison feels that my son needs COVID testing for his allergy symptoms. Then proceeds to tell me if he has a runny nose at school from his allergies he will be tested again.
This is an absolute racket. Way to get extra copays for unnecessary visits. Be ready if your kid so much as farts funny and you call them your kid will be forced to come in and be tested.

I wanted to share a positive experience with the billing department. I was having insurance issues and they spent a lot of time on the phone with me and my company to get things straightened out. They also assured me that if needed they could set me up and work with me on a payment plan. It ended up working out and I owed very little but I appreciate the time thy spent explaining to me and sorting things out with the insurance. I love this office from the providers down they are all amazing and go above and beyond!

Wow! I'm surprised with some of these reviews. My family & I have had an amazing relationship with this office. My children has come here since each one's birth. They are all so kind & caring. I haven't had much to do with the office manager, never had an instance to need to. Not really sure which one she is & actually, that's ok with me. I haven't personally met with the billing office either, again never had to.
I have seen them speaking with other families explaining something, they seem to be very knowledgeable and treated them very nice. The office staff and doctors are amazing. They truly care about my children & are super sweet to them when they come in. I love how when we come in they all seem to be so genuinely happy to see my children. I get great information from them & learn new things each time. I'm sorry for anyone that had a bad experience. Maybe it was a bad day? But, so far, they have been great with us. I would definitely recommend this office.

Dr. Young is terrific, I wish we could keep her as our children's physician. Their office manager and billing manager are two of the most incompetent and rude individuals imaginable. Dr. Young should immediately look to hire competent individuals to help run her practice. We have been with Dr. Young for over 6.5 years. With the recent birth of our son, we received a few charges that are completely fraudulent.
Our insurance provider is United Healthcare (which was terrific in helping us figure out the billing issues). United Healthcare told us the 1 week old baby well visit wasnt billed as a well visit; that Young Pediatrics billed it as a "long visit" and the reason for it was due to "feeding issues". Our child had no feeding issues, when asking the billing and office managers about this they quickly became aggressive on the phone to both my wife and I and informed us that they always bill the first visit after being released from the hospital as a "hospital follow-up".
When I told them they didn't bill it as a follow up either that United Healthcare told me what they billed it as they yelled and said they always do it this way. When I explained that according to the Affordable Healthcare Act and our insurance the first visit is covered as a "baby well visit". To add insult to injury, their own Young Pediatrics website lists the 1 week appointment as a well visit. Youngs office just repeated to me that they have the right to bill as they see fit. Additionally, in the mountain of paperwork needed to fill out with a newborn; they had my wife fill out a form about how she was coping (later this was found to be a screening they conduct to assess postpartum depression).
This screening was billed to our son, in which the insurance wouldn't cover because who on earth would cover a depression screening for a newborn. The insurance company said they do cover those screenings and did cover it by my wife's obgyn, but couldn't cover it due to it being billed by a pediatrician under our son's name. Never mind this being ethically wrong considering they do not have the right/consent to assess or treat my wife, being that she is not their patient.
When I brought this up to the office manager she simply yelled at me saying they can do it if they want and they "catch so many women with it and it saves the babies". The pure ignorance of this department needs to investigated for fraud and ethics violations.

Terrible experience with some of the worst billing ever. Took over a year to get a bill sent to us. Please do not use this doctors office and take your business elsewhere. We took our daughter here to get vaccinations. We went to three appointments before we received a bill for the first appointment. It turns out our insurance would not cover the vaccines so we would have to pay all of it out of pocket.
Each visit for vaccines was over $800. I called the office and spoke with the billing department to see if they could give us a discount on the vaccines since insurance would not cover them. They would not work with us at all. Said it was our problem and they couldn't do anything about it.

Billing department and office manager are very rude and highly unprofessional. My daughter is almost 4 and Dr. Young has been her pediatrician since day 1. She is great. However, we recently moved and apparently had a past due balance. They mailed statements and sent an email that we never received at our new address. The next thing I received was a phone call from a collection agency to collect the balance, which I was quick to pay in full along with the collection fee.
After I paid it in full, the billing clerk said, "let us know when you find a new doctor and we can send over your records". I said, "new doctor?". She said, "you can no longer be a patient of ours once you go to collections". I was so upset. I have never been late on any payments to their office or in collections in the last 4 years we have been with them, but because we had a change of address.never received a phone call from them making us aware of any balance.and was completely unaware of these office policies.we were let go from their office.
I am currently expecting and will be due in 2 months and now have to find a new doctor for my 3 year old and new baby. When I called to talk to the office, the billing department clerk and office manager were completely out of line and rude with me. Very unprofessional at best and absolutely NO compassion. Very cold hearted. I will be happy to be searching out another doctor's office, where I feel they genuinely care for our kids (their patients) and not just the $180 we owed and were unaware of.
