My father was sent here by ambulance. The incompetence and gross neglect seen in this place would take me hours to list. The place was dirty and outdated and the staff had NO communication skills. My father died in this place. I feel sorry for patients there who have no one to advocate or protect them. My father was not even given fluids for 2 days.
He sat in his own urine for a day and a half. The nurses would look me in my face and tell me they "didn't know because they hadn't seen the chart" whenever I had questions. One nurse on the 2nd floor, her name was Lisa, shrugged her shoulders and walked away when another nurse told her my dad had not had any pain meds. The whole floor heard my wrath.
They would constantly forget to give my dad his pain medicine as he lay dying. I pray to God this place gets shut down. I wish we had never called 9-1-1 and allowed my dad to pass at home. The ONLY thing that kept me from completely losing it was the fact that if I got kicked out, there would be NO ONE to protect my dad. As he passed, we had staff barge in several times (after we asked for privacy and was told we would not be bothered) they wanted to take blood, take him for x rays, etc. Orders that had been made the day before.they wanted to act on as he was literally taking his last breaths.
The majority of the staff were lazy, apathetic and had no idea what was going on half the time. We had to micro manage everyone just to get my dad fluids and pain meds. Never again. (Pictures are of feces on the floor that was left there for 2 days)

This place is nothing but a band aid station I went over a broke arm and they said it was only a slight fracture then tried to straighten it out. Then got an ambulance from Paintsville just to transport me to Huntington; I cut my thumb open with utility knife and had to have it glued so when they ask what I done I said "I cut myself with a utility knife" Then it was what's a utility knife. I broke my finger all they done was put a splint on it I got with a orthopedic and he said they should have called him in for surgery

My 8 year old grandson was at the er last night with a cut leg. He was scared and hurting so therefore he was crying and upset. The woman that was working the front desk was VERY HATEFUL with him and kept telling him to shut up and stop crying he is a little boy that was scared I will not have my grandson treated this way if she doesn't like children then she had better find another job. She needs to be FIRED

The dr and the surgery went great. The nurses and care givers that take care of you in your room are terrible. They ask my wife's religion in front of other nurses and that's when things went south. I noticed there wasnt a lot of patients on the floor yet they have no time for patients. I'll try to never go back. Thank you for nothing

If you come here for an emergency, I can promise you that you're better off driving to Pennsylvania to a hospital cause you'd get there and be seen before anyone here sees you. Really, if you have a medical emergency, I beg that you go somewhere with real doctors who cares. Because let's be honest, knowledge and experience is garbage without care. And I don't sense any care here, and I've been here many times in my life. Each time thinking that if I had internal bleeding I'd die in the waiting room.

My son was admitted to the behavioral unit! He was treated with such dignity and respect! From the time we arrived at the emergency department til he was taken upstairs. The staff was so nice and helpful. They really put me at ease by the way they were not just treating him but also reassuring me that they would take good care of him and they have.
I'm forever grateful to the staff there. They have helped in saving my son's life. I had taken him to Pikeville Medical Center before and he and I were ignored and treated like he was a joke! I recommend Three Rivers to anyone that is suffering with mental and drug issues!

Letting someone suffer in extreme pain that they can't even get off the floor in the iwaiting room is unexeptable. What happened when emergency rooms were here to help you? The people standing around chewing on snacks while my loved one is wailing in pain and doing nothing until they got around to it is the most inhumane thing i've ever seen! Totally unexceptable! Take the extra time to go to Cabell Huntington you'll get faster better service. We could of made it to Cabell as long as we have waited to see a dr in an urgent emergency!

I came very close to death! I will never be there again. I was brought in by an ambulance because I had a problem breathing and my rescue inhaler was not working. Maybe it was because I was still in my night clothes, but the woman who was to be my physician nearly caused my death. I'm sorry, but this incident is to horrific to explain at this point.
I was not allowed my own rescue inhaler after I begged 4 women to help me. One was my practitioner and the other 3 were nurses. I could not breath! I begged for help, but they kept telling me to get back into bed. I felt the most terrifying and painful feeling that I had never felt in my entire life. I heard one of the nurses say "her lips are turning blue". That woman practitioner did nothing. My mother made me promise to never go there again!

Our experience was positive. But like anything else, not all visits to all places are perfect. It's too bad the lady from out of state had such a devastating situation, it can color her view permanently. We hear horror stories from most places, where time and circumstances are just wrong, but not always an overall indicator of the usual treatment.
