The Lake City, Florida location has employees that are biased against people of color and the elderly. My mother had cataract surgery performed by the ophthalmologist, had complications and was referred to an optometrist at this location. She went to the appointment with the optometrist and was promised a follow-up but was not notified. She called the office to schedule an appointment and was treated like a new patient, receiving an appointment several days later.

At the appointment the front desk staff employee Vanessa, who seemed to be the motivator of using intimidating and bullying tactics against me and baiting the other employees Ruth, Tracy, and Manager Tara, to follow the leader. It is shameful that this location has hired insensitive, incompetent, ignorant, biased, unprofessional individuals to represent their establishment.

They refused to provide service to my mother who is having complications from cataract surgery. Please be careful at this location, there are unkind employees at the front desk. My family and I have cancelled all of our future appointments-Good Riddance!

Absolutely the worst waiting times, set appointment and then wait 1+hour just to be seen

Hands down best ophthalmologist I've been to. I just had a cataract removed and a lens replaced. And a day after the surgery my vision is already coming back.

I take my husband and neighbor here. Before my mother in law passed, I use to bring her too. Good people, excellent service, but due to over booking patients, you can be there a while. My neighbor's most recent appointment was at 2:30pm for a regular appointment and she didn't get out til 4:40pm. My husband's appointments are always a couple of hours.

My mother in law's 1st appointment took 4.5hrs and not as a new patient. So when you go, expect to stay a while and bring something warm to wear. If it wasn't for a time issue, I would give them a 5.

Would like to give a big shout out to Casey Martine, employee of the Lake City office, for going above and beyond to make a quick appointment for me in the Live oak office. Her knowledge and concern really put me at ease after having an unpleasant experience elsewhere. She assured me Dr. rodendorfer was the best. Have to agree with Casey. Thank you Casey for helping me to get the best eye Care.,

The doctor was really nice and helpful. Some of the office staff was wonderful. But when calling to get a refund on my eye glasses they had no idea what I was talking about. It was as if no one knew what each other was doing. Still haven't gotten my refund. And it seemed when I called back no one knew what I had meant.

Last year, I had an eye check up, to find out after the lenses were cut, it was the wrong prescription. So, i was seen by another Dr. there, and guess what, there were two different prescriptions, both wrong, so i had them cut new lenses wit my old prescription. After co-pays it was still over $300. Now i am stuck, can't see, and have to wait till insurance kicks back in.

And I have great insurance, but still. I never had a long wait time, because I wont sit there, i keep asking till they take me back. Your a fool to sit there for long periods.

The doctors and staff are wonderful but pack some snacks and extra drinks because your wait time could be up to 2-3 hours! My 85 year old mom had an appointment at 1:40 pm, we arrived at 1:30 and didn't see the doctor until 3:30, then still had another 15-20 minutes of paperwork to fill out for the upcoming cataract surgery. We finally left the place at 3:57 pm and this isn't the first time that our appointments have taken two or more hours to complete, either. Both locations, Live Oak and Lake City, often have long wait times! Wish they could find a way to speed up the process, as I do like the doctors and staff.

My Husband and I, are VERY pleased and satisfied with both the Staff at Columbia Eye, including Dr. Avonda. In addition the staff who completed our prescription glasses, our order was prompt and perfect! The biggest thing that we both appreciated, was the experience, professionalism and the friendliness that was showed in all the Staff! We WILL be returning there again when our next exam comes around!;

I have received excellent care from here. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful to all of my eye-care needs. I would highly recommend Columbia Eye Associates to anyone that needs a checkup or needs treatment for any eye conditions. All around 5 star experience every time. I am very happy to call Columbia Eye Associates and Dr. Avonda as my trusted local eye doctor.
