My little boy broke his leg and this place gave AMAZING care. Literally from the front door to the doctor everyone was so sweet and patient with us. We were seen nearly immediately and once moved to a bed, they didn't move him again in effort to keep pain at a minimum. Highly highly recommend for anyone needing care for their littles.

Last night my kids when inside the emergency room. We had to wait 4 hours to be seen but that wasn't the problem it was how fast doctor Michael Eric Weiss just rushed through them wasn't really helpful and he was only in the room for a minute. Smh I came out my way for my kids to be with the proper care but last night it didn't feel that way. It doesn't matter how many kids you have to see. It's the point I trust the hospital enough to come there.

This hospital use to be the greatest when it comes to nurse that generally care for kids and family. Let me be clear it seems like if your African American you're automatically profile. My child was thirsty she pressed the button the nurse came in and silenced the alarm without bringing the water when asked. I asked for a doctors note for work and school. The nurse told me she doesn't know why I needed one and I wasn't a patient. We were treated horribly. Please bring back the staff that love kids no matter the race. SMH

Joe DiMaggio children's hospital is an amazing hospital. This review is solely regarding the pediatric emergency room. Walked in at 9pm on Sunday night to every single seat taken, adults and children sitting all over the floor, standing in all the hallways, quite shocking actually. Signed in, waited 2.5 hours. Every nurse that walked by looked angry and miserable to be there.
Why work at a pediatric ER if you don't like children? Finally seen by a doctor who was in a rush and dismissed what we came in for. Discharge papers took another hour. We finally walk out at 1am and there are 12 people waiting to give the valet guy their ticket at 1 o'clock in the morning. They have one staff working valet. I will never use this emergency room again. An actual nightmare.

I love JDCH! This is my 3rd visit. It's not the closest hospital to me but anytime I need my son to be seen I make the drive because it is worth it. The one time I did not make the drive, I truly regretted it. My son needed to have stitches on his upper lip and was traumatized at the hospital I took him to. I had panicked and took him somewhere closer to my house, but if I could do it again, I would've made the drive to JD.
I have never had a bad experience here and that is from the valet worker to the nurses, to the doctors, and even security. His wait time has never been too long no matter how crowded it was. Everyone is so kind and genuinely love children. The customer service is truly impeccable and should be the standard for any other hospital. This makes my heart smile!

Love love love this hospital. The staff from the moment you enter is so nice. The valet, security, registrar, nurse that takes Covid-test and Nurses and MRI Tech. Thank you Elizabeth, Sarah, Sherea and Ron. My son had to have an MRI and had to be sedated. He was very difficult as a patient because he kept waking up. Everyone was so patient with him and understanding.
Sometimes there are things that happen out of the staff's control, and we have to be understanding as well. It takes very special people to deal with these situations. I thank you for your compassion and thank you for everything.

I just have to say, PHENOMENAL! I got here 6:50pm with my son. Only 5 mins later did it take for the kind staff to place us in a private room. Minutes after walked in the nurse introduced herself. Two minutes after her the doctor walked in and ordered an X-ray. The nurse came to take him to X-ray and results were in less than 20 mins. Doctor ordered medicine be given to him right away.
Can't stress this enough- AMAZING STAFF & HOSPITAL! I had a similar situation occur at another children's hospital I previously reviewed and let me tell you I will be back here every time even if it's a 35 min drive. The previous hospital I was there same situation for 6 hours and then 2 hours later a X-ray was ordered we were sent home without giving any medication to my child at the hospital. Was sent a prescription which I had to wait for next day to pick up at pharmacy. So yes! Come to this hospital!

1st off I need to thank the entire hospital staff, from the Covid testing RNs to the Security and Valet Workers and Registration ladies. Without them this hospital wouldn't be what makes it so special! (This is not down playing RNs and Drs) We were here yesterday for oral surgery for my 7 year old. Very frightening experience to see your child go through something so young.
If it wasn't for the ENTIRE hospital staff, I do not believe I could have been as calm and level headed. They just made me and my daughter feel so calm and comfortable. They answered EVERY question, especially when they had to give her the "calming" meds b4 her surgery. Our pre-op RN "Stephanie"was amazing, kind, knowledgeable, sweet, patient, attentive and just an all around good person. Ty from the bottom of our hearts "Shirley" the OR RN was so very kind and calming, I was so scared when they wheeled her away because she was crying, and Shirley assured me she was in great hands! "Natalie" was her recovery RN and she was simply amazing. Seeing my child Asleep hooked up on a breathing mask made me very nervous and Natalie was there every moment to explain EVERYTHING about what would happen when she woke up, and how to care for her at home.
She was also knowledgeable, kind, patient, and completely understanding about my severe nervousness. We are so very grateful for you Natalie and Last but certainly not least is "David", the young man who wheeled my daughter out to the car. David was kind, careful, funny and just super helpful. Thank god you have these guys to help your little patients out, it's a huge help and a nice touch. Also, the cafe staff, working hard to provide yummy food to hungry families, TY so much for our dinner!
I highly recommend the BLT & Chicken Fingers! Overall, our experience here my nothing short of remarkable. This hospital treats children with respect and the utmost kindness! They give treats and toys and just make the children feel less like their in a hospital and more like a fun and comfortable environment! We recommend Joe D to ALL parents. And TY from the bottom of our family's hearts For taking such amazing care of our daughter! God bless all of you
