The Optical Department carries one of the largest selections in South Florida of top designer frames, sunglasses and optical wear. Heading up a team of optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians at The Eye Center, Dr. Davis has earned an international reputation as a leading optometrist.

Red? Crusty and Swollen? These are all ways that patients have described their eyes when they have either Dry Eye Syndrome or other serious eyelid or eyelash conditions. Many of these conditions develop from bacterial infections on the lid margin or problems with the eyelid's Meibomian glands. Conditions like dry eye syndrome can lead to frequent discomfort and pain but there are solutions. At The Eye Center, we can not only diagnose dry eye but also provide dry eye care in Pembroke Pines so you no longer have to live with discomfort.

I'm not happy with the eye center, even though I've been coming for the last 10 years. My glasses were made wrong three times. I picked them up today for the fourth time and they are still not right. With the insurance already paying, now I am stuck paying for somewhere else and they don't seem to be willing to make my glasses right. With looking at all their pictures in the office with all the famous football players it's seems they care more about them then their other clients.

Eye Center used to be a great place to go for glasses and your exam in the past three years, now they just charge you for everything and they don't tell you so be aware when you go there make sure you tell them only charge me for what my insurance covers. every time I go then I tell them that they still wind up charging me fees that I never asked for, and they don't even tell you if you want the exam or not, they just added in there terrible and they don't have that much good glasses, but, and also they messed up my glasses I had to return them three times because they where not lined them up right and I was seeing blurry for days and getting headaches, same thing happened to my daughter, Tony was the only one that got it fixed. Tony is a great consultant if you need to go with anybody go with Tony he's the best i've been going there for 10 years but I will not go there anymore. if you wanna get ripped off go there.

If you cannot see these 5 yes 5 stars then you are blind and need to get here! Best eye place ever! Went to the other clowns around and they excuse my language " sucked ", the other places are like a conveyor belt, not friendly, I do not even think they know anything. This place! Forget about it! Walked in, a warm greeting, took me in and I felt confident I was receiving the best care.
So I sat back and did every test they can give! Just wanna say thanks! It was a breathe of fresh air! If you go to those other places you will never be able to see right! Thanks again!

Doctor Davis is very good! His exam is better than the average optometrist! But I do not recommend getting eye glasses there. Promised that these titanium glasses would never fall off my face / that was a wrong statement. I was back there 5 times to have adjustments! Problem was that the frames were a poor fit for me. Everyone was nice but each had a different solution never admitting that the frames recommended were a poor choice!

I have been going to the eye center for years over 10 years to be exact. Each year the service has gotten worst. My last exam was on December 31. I ordered my glasses I told the technician I wanted transitioned lenses and not the anti-glair because the "up charge" was too much. The technician advised me he would lower the cost on the anti-glair because I really needed the anti- flair.
He was very addiment about it. I didn't get my glasses until almost a month later. After having the glasses for a week I realized my vision is worst with the new glasses there was no anti- glair and no transition. I went back to let them know. They gave me another exam. The first prescription was wrong. They corrected my lenses and said they would be ready on February 17.
I got a call on that day from the eye center saying my glasses are not ready but they will be ready Thursday(February 20). No one called me to say my lenses were ready. Today March 7. I called to see if my lenses are ready they tell me yes. I go thinking I am going to have my new lenses Noooooo the technician ordered ONE lense! Who does that! I asked for my prescription and left.
The technician who wrote my prescription and eye glasses is about 70 years old he was also the "supervisor". When people can't do their job proficiently it's time to retire! Whenever I get my lenses I will not be going back the anymore!

I have been coming here for years. Dr. Semel always remembers me and treats me very well. Everybody I encounter at this office is such a caring person. They really make you feel welcome. Everybody is so knowledgeable and professional, it makes me proud to recommend this office to all my friends and family.

I had an awesome experience, from making the appointment to the check out everything went great, very little wait time, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, when picking out my glasses he took his time with me and did not try to up sell me on items I did not need. I found the employees extremely rude, the man who was helping to pick out my glasses he automatically went for the tray which he said my insurance will cover without asking me which ones i want to look at, he just assumed i couldn't pay for any glasses because i have a certain insurance. I told him i wanted to look at some other frames he told me the insurance won't pay for it i told him i know but i am going to pay for it.
He was so arrogant that i told him not to bother, as i was walking out one of the employee ask me what was wrong i proceeded to tell her, he comes over and the employee start talking to me as if i was complaining to her, when she was the one asking me questions. I won't go back there or WILL NOT recommend that place to anyone.

We came here for our yearly eye exams. They had misplaced the second appointment but luckily for us, they queezed us in. From the outside the place looks run down and ugly. However, once you walk in and the waiting room its totally different. As you walk in, you see a c shaped receptionist area. Here they check you in. To the left is the glasses and sunglass frames and the people who measure and write up the order.
We had the pleasure of having VICKY help us. Vicky is amazing. Ask for her if you are buying glasses. Not sure about anyone else but she is AMAZING. To the right is the second waiting room to see the doctor. Once inside, you realize that the place is HUGE. I was taken to the front to the very back. The front examination rooms were more modern. The ones in the back looked like they were from the 70s.
Some rooms were tiny, and others were normal size Regardless, everyone there was nice. Evn the receptionist who was able to get both of us in. Again, go see Vicky. She is amazing.

I was disappinted, I had and appointment for 3:00 and I arrived early to do paper work and had to wait an additional 30 minutes before I was prescreened. The office seemed busy, but not that busy. On the positive the doctor was nice and did a good job so I was satisfied with her work. The negative the office staff doing the pre screening poked me in the eye on the gloccoma test.
I never had this happen. The office staff were very agressive in up selling additional services. I glass prices are crazy expensive. I was shocked to see the pricing for the glasses. My wife just got similar glasses similar prescription for a fraction of the cost. I was very disapointed and will probably not go back.

This center came highly recommended from my insurance VSP as a preferred provider. I made an appt easily on the phone, arrived 10 minutes early to fill out usual new patient paperwork. After the computerized tests and scary puff in eye test the optometrist Dr. Semel saw me immediately. He's a very no BS kind of guy - which I appreciate. He quickly determined my prescription and I was on my way to selecting frames with the optician.
The office staff were all very cordial and professional. My glasses were completed in about 2 weeks with a one week delay coming from my insurance company that requires all lenses be tested to ensure prescription is correct. Will be visiting every year until I finally decide to take the plunge and get LASIK!

I've had nothing but positive experiences both times I've been here. I'm called in quickly (even when I was 15 minutes late to my last appt). I'm also always impressed with how they seem to have the latest and greatest technology in optometry. My last optometrist must have had a lot of the more old school setups because I hated going to the eye doctor.
All the tests would freak me out. Coming here, it's a breeze! Nothing painful, everything is quick. Dr. Olivares is who I see and she's the best! She's the first person that finally got me to try contacts after being terrified of them for almost 32 years. Life changing once I got them in! I've never gotten frames here, so I can't speak to that just yet. Otherwise, I'm very happy here!

I've used them for years, but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never return. Saw a Spanish man, don't remember his name. I found a frame I liked and ordered sunglasses, they came in 2 weeks later. The moment I put on my face, sunglasses fell off. The lady that took care of me this time said "The lens all wrong for this frame".Like it was my fault.
She said I had to pick another frame "in same price range", very meager selection. I hated the new frames, but was told "nothing they can do but order different frames. I felt I had no choice. I ordered ugly frames, picked them up and wore them unhappily until I found another much better optical provider that gave Me sunglasses that I am very happy with! Hated the fact that I threw money away at the eye center. I will never go back.

My second visit started out better than the first. The staff did not try to upsell me anything. I was taken in without too much of a wait. The salesman for the glasses was kind and helped me pick some basic frames. Next, the doctor checked my eyes again. He asked me how the service was with the sales rep and I told him it was good. Then Dr. Davis suggested that I write an updated review.
That is taboo in the world of Yelp. Owners should not ask customers to change reviews. It should come from Yelpers themselves and only if the feel like it. The new frames were too tight so I just went to Costco where the rep told me that the prescription was for coke bottle type glasses. I have never worn thick reading glasses. Why would my prescription all of a sudden change without notifying me? I am not impressed with the customer service. I will stick with Costco from now on.

I have been coming to this place for the last 8 years they are awesome and they take care of my eye needs I also deal with Richard when I need to purchase some eyewear and he always takes care of me. I wouldn't go somewhere else because these people for me are the best, professional and they know what they are doing. They are worth every single penny.
