A growing number of people are declaring their health care preferences before they become seriously ill. Advance medical directives are written documents about your wishes for medical treatment. They guide health care providers and your family in the event you become incapacitated and cannot express your wishes.
Lake Regional financial counselors are available to help you understand your hospital bill and make the payment process more manageable. Lake Regional Health System will bill your primary and secondary insurances for you. This includes Medicare, Medicaid and managed care plans. You will not receive a bill from us until your insurance company has finished paying its portion of your claim.
When you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you should not owe more than your plan's copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible. See Model Disclosure Notice of the No Surprises Act here.
Below is a list of the insurance plans currently contracted with Lake Regional Health System (hospital and clinics). Please verify your benefits with your insurance company before accessing health care services to ensure your provider is credentialed with the plan and that it is a covered service.

Been here since 930. It is 105. Close to 4 hours. Have not seen one doctor on the floor. Good thing nobody has an emergency on the emergency room. Going on 130 pm. Doctor Doctor where art thou? First time being in ER and not seeing one doctor walking around. Are you at a convention? Golf course? Having a pedicure or manicure.? Going on 2pm. I believe I am at Lake Regional ER.

I see nurses, orderliness, EMT workers, and patients. What I do not see is a doctor. Continue to be told doctor will be here soon. Approaching 230, 5 long hours. Rumor there is a doctor on the floor. Still hard to believe it has taken 5 hours for a doctor to show. Maybe they are part of the airline and things go slow. Spoke to nurse. Aunts test came back okay, no UTI.

She was diagnosed here in January with one. Did not take her medication back then. So I guess I learned UTIs go away on their own or could a possible misdiagnosed be on the horizon. 245 doctor just came in. Doctor was nice enough to give me a lecture and educate me on the average wait time of ER. Was helpful in the treatment of my aunt which is the most important thing.

My grandma has been taken by ambulance to this hospital twice since February. I do not have enough good things to say about this hospital. The staff were very compassionate and caring towards my grandma and family. It only took a couple hours from the time she arrived to the ER to the time she was admitted to the floor. The floor nurses and staff were also amazing. I am very pleased with my grandmas stay. This will be my hospital of choice for now on.

My family and I have had great ER and routine care at Lake Regional. We'd recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

POOR EXCUSE FOR A HOSPITAL! I recently went to the ER for an allergic reaction. I was having trouble breathing/talking, itching, lips were swollen and my blood pressure was 240/197. I lost feeling of my arms and legs and my face was tingling I asked my husband to call for help. The nurse yelled from next door she was working on getting my med/'s but we could here her working on discharging the a patient in the next room.

The staff was very unprofessional. I am still in shock that they sent me home before I was stable. I was told I could leave 3 times even though I repeatedly told them I couldn't feel my arms and legs. They said they would get a wheelchair if I couldn't walk. My blood pressure was still 205/180. They told me I will feel better when I go home and if I didn't relax I was going to have a stoke or heart attach.

Sitting in the ER now. My fathers blood pressure has been low- 78/39 for at least an hour now. Nurse will eventually come in and say his blood pressure is low because he is laying on his side. No one will let a doctor know and act like this is normal. I am a nurse I know this is not normal. No call button was given and they don't come in to check on him, he could have a stroke or heart attack and no one would ever know.

Nurse forgot to hook back up his blood pressure machine when he got back from test - after he has been having low blood pressure. Nurses are very short, uncaring and hateful. He has been here for hours not once have they inquired about his pain level or any medication that he takes. The bathroom here is filthy. Bathroom over ran with trash on the floor. Very unsanitary! Don't go here!

I think everyone's ER experiences will vary. My experience was almost perfect. I would especially to give a shout out to Dr. Angela Clay, her bedside manner was amazing and her clarity while explaining things made the whole experience go much smoother. I'll definitely come back. (Well. no I hope I don't actually ever have to go back to a hospital) but seriously I would recommend the entire staff to anyone in need of treatment.

I was a little nervous taking my granddaughter who is a baby to the Lake Er as the reviews aren't very good. However it was the closer ER and it was a emergency. I was impressed they got us in immediately and the nurses we had were not only friendly and attentive they were very thorough. They did everything necessary to address our concerns and her injury and make her comfortable before transferring us to Columbia Orthopedics. Thank you Lake Regional!

Worst ER reception ever, got there at 4am, triage nurse said that there was practically no one back there, gave them insurance info then sat and waited for 3 hours before they took us back to a room, then waited for another 45 minutes before finally seeing a nurse then a doctor, wife having extreme abdominal pain, 2 and half hours into our wait a man comes in claiming that he thinks he has COVID and is immediately taking care of, so if you have COVID-19 then your a top priority, for a virus that has a 99.6 % rate of survival and the rest of everyone else just has to sit wait and suffer until they're done having their bull session from the looks of things, and if you ask the receptionist what seems to be taking so long you are showing aggressive behavior and threatened with the use of law enforcement! I've been in other ER's and have never seen such uncaring behavior from a hospital and had to wait so long to be treated.

So if you just have to go there then you might be better off telling them you have COVID-19 first then what actually is wrong with you at least enough for them to stabilize your pain or stop the bleeding until you can get to a real hospital. The nurses in the ER and the doctor was very caring and polite.

I fell and I went to the ER I was in extremely bad pain when I arrived. Took forever to get to a room. We've had a Pandemic that were still struggling with. Yet they didn't clean the room after the patient before me. Still had their Iv fluid bag in the sink! Dr. Craven didn't help me figure out what was going on. I didn't think I broke any bones except my fibula bone, yet they took a whole bunch of xrays.

Didn't do a MRI or ultrasound to look at my ligaments and tendons. Didn't take a Xray of my fibula bone either. I left there still in pain and a guessed Diagnosis. Dr. Craven is Negligent. I'm not supposed to have any acetaminophen and he was trying to give me norco with 325 mg of acetaminophen. It's noted that I am not supposed to take anything with acetaminophen. I heard from the lady who replies to these reviews and it was like talking to a wall. She asked me what I was wanting out of this!

ER room was freezing cold (60oF), laid waiting for admission for over 3 hours. PCU was clean and modern. Private room. Doctor Reveille very knowledgeable. Diane, 1st night shift nurse excellent. But weekend staff very different. Rotated daily, not sure I saw the same nurses more than 1 day in a row. Confusion about which medications were mine on night shift, wrong patient's meds.

Lost my blood after draw, but found it later. Jokes in hallway outside my door about how many rules each nurse on night shift could break per shift not funny. Night staff at desk don't realize how loud they talk, could hear way more than I should have.

My dad was pleased with his care while In The hospital, but during discharge The communication between staff and in turn to patients and patients advocates is sadly lacking. The discharge instructions were very confusing, and in an already stressful situation. very unprofessional.

Worst customer service i have ever dealt with. Friend got into a car accident and they wouldn't give us updates nor let us see her. They never once explained calmly the rules and basically told us they would call the cops since we "caused a scene". The security guard in the emergency room basically kicked us out even though all we wanted was an explanation. (front desk people not the nurses/doctors)

This health system does not care about childrens mental health. They don't have any mental health provider for children and teens. My kids have been going to their pedestrians office located on hospitals grounds for 4 years. I was told by the girl at the desk that no one in their system does child psychology/psychiatry and they didn't know what to tell me.

Dr. Hockman, Ann and Chris, overnight nurses. Check in was quick and easy. I was brought into the ER room right away and had a EKG done immediately. I was given a saline drip which facilitated the nurse give in giving me pain meds. Xrays were done in the room and a CR scan was done quickly. Dr. Hockman was pleasant, friendly and assessed the situation quickly. I don't like ERs but this experience was top notch. 3am 9.6.19 A+++

I can't say enough about the caring staff and wonderful care I received here. There is certainly a place in the health care industry for large research hospitals, but smaller facilities like Lake Regional should not be overlooked. Very personalized. No long, painful waiting for treatment. Excellent first class treatment.

My blood pressure was out of control and I just moved to Missouri. I've never had high blood pressure before, I went to the emergency room and after waiting an hour and being told it would be another hour and a half before I can even get back to a bed to start to be seen, I thought, well if they don't think it's that serious then I don't think it's that serious either. Nobody should have to wait two and a half hours to be seen by a doctor

Good grief. What a great place. So my wife has a rare lymphoma. She also had an emergent medical issue. We split our time between KC and LOTO and we're accustomed to wonderful health care. Not gonna lie. I was a little nervous taking her to the hospital at the lake. Man, was I wrong. Our ED doc was Dr. Jones, who just happened to be an ED doc at St. Luke's in KC for 40 something years.

Brilliant doc. Spectacular bedside manner. Wonderful human being. Should be the teaching doc for every medical student. Anyway, the care and treatment was phenomenal. Dr. Jones is the bomb dot com. The nurses were spectacular. Goodness. what a great experience. Don't hesitate to use this ED. It's phenomenal. Particularly when Dr. Jones is there.

I had both knees replaced in February and in six weeks I was pain free in which I have not been in many years. The service at the hospital was outstanding and I have made so many friends you would not believe. Everything was outstanding including the food this hospital deserves more than five stars

I am rating my visit as a professional, at LR to share novel clinical information with LR staff. I encountered kind, helpful & polite staff from the minute I arrived, & throughout the day. I have been to 100+ hospitals in the tri- state area, & the LR staff were among the friendliest. Even a surgeon, stopped to answer my question & even escorted me to the correct office. Very Impressed w the kind staff! What a great first impression.

This hospital should not be in business at all. They front desk don't know jack shit about anything going on in the back and are to lazy to check. My wife had a seizure and we took her in. They released to us only to find out she went to sleep and would not wake up while we were at home. why would you release someone if they are not better. So we took her back and they airlifted her to the Missouri university hospital ( waayyy better hospital ), because they are to stupid to figure the problem out themselves. Not to mention an airlift does not come cheap.
