Horrible! I made an appointment yesterday and the scheduler gave me an appt. today at 4:15. Three times I specifically requested appt. in Warren, when I got there they said my appt was in the Westfield office. The receptionist asked the doctors in Warren if they can take me. The doctor said he has to leave after two more patients. The moral of the story their time is more important than yours, despite their scheduling error. My family have been coming here over 20 years. No more. They are just horrible and their is no accountability. Wasted my afternoon

Took my two kids here to see pediatric ophthalmologist who only comes on Fridays. After waiting for two months for an appointment, we left very very disappointed with the doctor. The other staff is very respectful and polite. However, the doctor just wouldn't explain to us properly about our kids eyes issues. When my husband and I asked her questions to get a clearer picture, she would chose what to answer and what to not answer.
She just had her back towards us, not even look at us while speaking to us. What kind of doctor are you? As concerned parents we have every right to find out more about our kids. Then the doctor mentioned we should be back after 6 months for a check up. Ok, when asked should we return to this facility or have to go elsewhere for follow up, the doctor said it's up to us where we want to go as she is leaving the job there.
She said go wherever you want. Trust us, we are definitely not returning here for a follow up. Gonna find a new doctor who is courteous and knows how to treat their patients. If you can, avoid bringing your kids here. The doctor is not a joy to deal with.

Disrespectful and very rude reception. I double checked over the phone with appointment scheduler to make sure that they are in network with my insurance and my routine eye exam is coved under my plan while scheduling my appointment. After driving 30mins to location, I was presented with paper to sign indicating I will be responsible for fees and many other forms.
I gave my insurance card and other details to front desk lady, but she has been extremely rude and keep on insisting filling out details and consent for test which may later not be covered by insurance. Extremely disrespectful and entitled staff. I usually not post any reviews but experience and over all entitlement of staff forced me to do it. Update: Ended up talking with office manager Laura Smith over the phone and my experience was completely different and positive during a phone conversation.
I decided to give it one more try and scheduled an appointment. Kept my conversation with front desk minimal. I was seen by Dr. John and was felt comfortable. He gave enough time to ask me any questions and discuss his findings.

Unfortunately never became a patient. Scheduled an appointment and it was canceled by automated calls and texts with no explanation. I called to see why and reschedule and they made me go through all the intake questions again (major inconvenience because I put everything in the online system when I scheduled online). No appointments available so I found a new doctor.
The week that my appointment was supposed to happen I received automated calls and texts confirming the appointment and asking for covid clearance. Terrible service and communication from office staff

I am military member and because of an unexpected change to my scheduled I urgently needed an eye exam. I called The Eye Care and Surgery Center after having called at least 15 other eye doctors. They were extremely helpful and understanding and fit me in that same day even though they were clearly very busy. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.

The warren customer service is HORRIBLE. For starters, the lady at the front desk is so unbelievably rude and is not helpful whatsoever. I showed up to pick up my contact lenses today at their office at 4pm and the office was closed and nobody answered the phones, mind you they are open until 5pm on weekdays. Dr. Kahn is an exceptional doctor, it's just the front desk staff that makes me strongly dislike this eye care group. -5 stars if you ask me.

I am a 54 year old male and have been a patient of Dr. Confino for many years. He has always been thorough, with a warm bedside manner, and he runs a friendly and efficient office with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Over the past 2 year, I developed fast-growing cataracts, and he performed surgery on them this past December. The results are outstanding!
I couldn't be happier with the time and care he took in the predatory phases, the actual surgery, and in the aftercare. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Confino or his office. Highly recommended.

Staff is lovely and efficient. Most of the exam done by excellent techs. Dr Kahn was thorough but impatient and short, especially with questions. Let me be clear, I do not waste doctors' time but I had two brief and legitimate questions. Brushed me off abruptly Very unhelpful, needs to work on his courtesy and personality. I wouldn't recommend him at all though everyone else was terrific.

Update: I previously wrote a poor review but as I said in my original review, people have bad days and I believe I happened upon one of those days. The Optician called this morning and I now feel like I have all the information I needed as well as someone I can count on moving forward. As I said in my previous review. Dr Shah and her assistant were amazing! Her assistant was so knowledgeable and helpful prior to my seeing Dr Shah. My options were fully explained and a plan for the future of my eye care was established.

I went for a regular contact/glasses exam. I ended up waiting twenty minutes past my appointment time. 90% of the exam time is spent with an assistant. Although this person was friendly and thorough, he tried to correct me by telling me I was nearsighted, not farsighted. Hyperopia is in my chart and he's seeing my prescription, so that concerned me.
Time spent with the doctor is really rushed at the end of the exam. I mentioned I'm having severe frequent migraines (as I've done with all my doctors and even my dentist), in case there's something I can do to help prevent them. This was brushed off and met with a quick "well it's not because of your eyes." Overall not a pleasant demeanor.
The doctor offered a set of contacts because I was almost out (told me to ask the front desk). I get to the front and I'm told that they don't give trials out unless you purchase boxes from them? No thanks, I'll use 1-800-contacts. Even the walmart and Costco vision centers have given me a pair when I ask. I didn't buy glasses either, because frames were three to four times the cost than Costco, and I always have a really positive experience at Costco.
The only reason I went here is because they're in network for my Vision insurance. I wanted to make an appointment with a specialist to discuss surgery options and was told the only availability is noon on Fridays for adults. I guess I'll find a different specialist.

My wife had cataract surgery with Dr. Joel Confino. First they removed the cataract from her left eye at the Elmwood Park surgical center. Total time in the center about 3 1/2 hours. She did have laser surgery to correct her astigmatism first, then a second procedure to remove the cataract and replace it with a new lens. Three weeks later back to have her right eye corrected.
Total time in the center 4 hours. Again, she had two procedures, laser surgery then the cataract removal and new lens replacement. No pain at all for both procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Joel Confino for any eye problem or even just to get your eyes examined. My wife had prelim and post op appointments and never had to wait longer than 20 minutes. We always had 10:00 am appointments for the office visits, so we were probably one of the first patients of the day.

Came to see Dr. Kahn for a 4 pm appointment, knew things seemed funny when someone else had signed in for a 4 pm with him as well. So I expected a wait and was already annoyed from the double booking. However, what came next was beyond anything I ever experienced. There were no emergencies that came in and yet it took 90+ minutes for me to see a doctor.
When I saw him the Doctor was nice enough but certainly not worth this wait. The care here might not be under par but I don't think there's any reason to put up with this sort of wait time or delay.
