Living up and down the seaboard coastline from major metropolitans to smaller coastal communities has educated me in finding the best resources in healthcare, practices, hospitals and clinics. Then covid hit our country. As always after relocating to PI, I looked for a experienced, qualified dentist. I was having problems with a crown but during covid delayed a dental exam for my dental crown.
Finally I called Dr. Wright's practice and was reassured they were following all covid guidelines. This made me feel safer as my crown was worsening from my delay due to covid. Upon visiting Waccamaw Dental I found it was so clean and so impeccably maintained. They had ample seating and promptly called me back per my appointment time. Dr. Wright and his staff made me feel comfortable and safe always wearing their mask.
Important to especially those with immune deficiencies. Dr. Wright X-Rayed my tooth and diagnosed my prob. He explained my options as a previous dentist's failures had caused my severe condition. Dr. Wright and his staff took care of all my needs from sedation for anxiety, extraction, follow up care, bone graph, deep cleaning and coordination of all procedures and visits with my dental insurance carrier.
My bone graph is healing and my health has improved tremendously as no more infection from my inflamed crown. He was so kind and his staff so concerned. They called to check up with me each time. They also moved my appointments up when possible to help me achieve our goal of a healthy happy smile. Dr. Wright is highly degreed and educated. He is a fine educator and mentor in his field.
He is absolutely the best Dentist and the Best Dental practice that I have ever frequented through all my travels up and down the eastern seaboard. I would give him the highest recommendation and a five star rating all around. I am smiling more and you will too after you experience this level of care at Dr. Wright's Waccamaw Dental Care Laser Dentistry Implants Clear Braces

There aren't enough superlatives to describe the caring, gentile, professional dental care you will receive with Doctor Charles Wright. I have lived at many locations throughout this country and can say, without a doubt, Dr. Wright is the best dentist I have ever had. I have entrusted my dental needs, and the needs of my family, to he and his staff for 25 years. From routine dental hygiene to implants, he has always exceeded expectations.

After several years of dealing with an implant crown that just wasn't right, I contacted Waccamaw Dental in desperate need for answers. Dr Wright went above and beyond to help me. I felt like he actually cared and wanted to make sure that I was happy with the final result. I know this because we tried several different options until I was happy. He was very thorough in explaining everything every step of the way and always asked me often throughout procedures to make sure I was ok. I'm extremely happy with my new crown and even more happy that I found a dentist that actually cares! Thank you Dr Wright!

The staff were extremely professional and my appointment was handled timely. I cannot express how clean and how sanitary this office is. The staff are very friendly and made me feel very comfortable with my procedure. Dr. Wright explained my procedure and made me feel at ease. The lady that cleaned my teeth was very thorough as well. I highly recommend him and his staff.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wright's for as long as I can remember - as a child and now as an adult. He and his staff have always been accommodating, they've always answered any questions I've had, and have been willing to work around my hectic schedule. Professional, clean, overall top notch establishment!

In had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Wright and his staff today. The experience was amazing. He took his time and thoroughly examined my teeth. He then took me through a series of videos to help educate me on why I have some of the issues I am dealing with. He carefully plotted out a course of corrective action to restore my dental health. I have been dealing with issues over the last 6 years and know know that I have a path that will help alleviate all these issues. The entire staff was friendly and efficient.

I recently changed dentist and have had two visits. First one went well and so did the second. Problem being I was having a procedure done that required 2 appts. Problem is I am suppose to do the 2nd procedure 2 weeks after first to keep bacteria from transferring to other side that hasn't been done yet. Couldn't fit me in on 2nd procedure for a month. Don't understand why they didnt schedule both when I called for appointment. Makes no sense to be charged and procedure not taken care of in a timely manner. Seems somewhat loud in office and unorganized. I do like the dentist though although have had no procedures with him yet.

I recently moved to Pawleys Island from NYC and I needed to locate a dentist to continue my quarterly cleanings to control gum disease. For the past 44 years I had used the same dental office in Staten Island and wasn't looking forward to leaving them behind. Fortunately for me, Dr. Wright is in the network of my new dental insurance company.
When I called Dr. Wright's office on one of those icy/snowy days we had several weeks ago, he actually answered the phone and took the information for my dental insurance. The letter from the insurance company was confusing - there were 3 different company names on the letter and I couldn't access their website. I was so surprised when he called me back later in the day to conference me in with the insurance company to confirm we were all on the same wave length.
I appreciated his attention to detail. Yesterday was my first visit and Dr. Wright and his staff were professional and friendly. His protocol for new patients was informative and well thought out. I went back today for an appointment with the dental hygienist to start the deep cleaning which I need. She's great! I'm thrilled that I I found them.

Just relocated to the area and needed to find a new dentist. Visited these folks and the experience was excellent. They did a complete work up and fully explained it all to me every step of the way. The office was bright and cheery, the staff very helpful and knowledgable, and they handled the billing directly with my insurance carrier. My only suggestion would be is if you are a new patient like I was that you plan on spending at least 90 minutes for the appointment as that was what was required to accomplish everything needed. Great Experience! Highly Recommended.

I went to this dentist after getting dental Insuranse. I needed nine fillings and one was a big cavity so he said that he would not know until he started doing the work. Ok I said and signed the papers when he gets done he says well I saved you a 1000 dollars. Then I go home the temporary cap falls off and I have to go back in the next day to put another one one.
Then they call and say the permanent one is in while there I tell the dentist I have still been in pain he said the the permanent cap would fix that oh no it didn't I ended up going back with pain and they said I probably needed a root canal which let me add is another 1000 dollars on top of the work he already did they stated none of the work they did was major dental that they had already talked to my Insuranse company then come to find out was not true and I now owe them 1400 dollars needless to say I went to another dentist who is doing the root canal for 400 dollars cheaper, and does not understand why he put a permanent crown on when I said I was still in pain.
Oh yeah and the way he treats is employees is the rudest I have ever seen. And I did have an infection so the other dentist had to start me on antibiotics before he could even do root canal. And let me add they promise you these 5 dollar sonic head tooth brush that are actually from China and are knock offs.

I started going to Dr. Wright for some molar pain and also pain from clenching/grinding. Instead of simply giving me a root canal, capping it and sending me on my way, he took the time to diagnose my symptoms and work with me to fix the underlying problem. It's not cheap to fix teeth, and this place is no different in that aspect, but when there is pain involved, I don't take chances!
I have gone to many teaching hospitals/dentists in the past and it's not uncommon for the dentist to teach his staff while the patient is, well, patient! I find this to be the case here, as he is in to his work and takes the time to explain things to both the patient and his staff, and all the while I did have to sit there and be patient- a major hard time for me but worth it to know what's going on.
The bottom line is that my teeth feel great. Someone recently told me "everyone's teeth hurt a little", but I think not! I will be going to Dr. Wright if I feel pain and I know he can help!

Went to this dentist for dental pain. I was thrown off at first because the way he talked to his employees in front of me. very very degrading and talked to them like they were dumb. But I was in pain and scheduled the root canal. I was there for 6 hours! I had to be sedated and I was there for so long I woke up in the middle of the procedure and he couldnt give me more meds to put me back to sleep.
So I sat there crying for one because it hurt so bad because my gum had been cut open for 6 hours and the horrible anxiety. I had to go back the next day because my dental impressions didnt come out right. I went in on a day there were no patients. The dentist and office manager were in the office talking and they were watching a video of a procedure they had done.
I guess they video tape you in the office. I know its perfectly legal.but there were NO visible cameras and it totally creeped me out! So after I had the crown fitted and permanent one placed I had to cancel my appt for my cleaning.and my phone blew up with calls to reschedule. Very very annoying. Would not refer my worst enemy to this place.
