There are so many things broken about our health-care system today. So much is controlled by businessmen who have profits and not patient care as their focus. The gradual move toward hospital-owned practice models has left very few independent physicians still in practice, and many of those have opted for concierge or direct-care models that result in higher costs for patients. This practice still hopes to provide care in a manner that many would see as old-fashioned. We still provide insurance billing, because you pay a lot in premiums.
Services
More of our patients are becoming enrolled in insurance plans with managed-care components that require referrals for visits to specialist physicians. As this is a change for many of our patients, who may be more accustomed to PPO-style insurance plans than HMO-style plans, we feel we need to make clear how the process for referrals works and why it exists, to help this run smoothly for both our patients and staff.
Many insurance companies and employers are placing a renewed emphasis on wellness and preventive care. As a result, there is a trend toward plans offering a yearly preventive exam at 100% coverage (not subject to deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments). Here are the facts you need to know regarding preventive exams.

Dr. Anderson is one of the best doctors I have been too. I first started going to her in November of last year for acid reflux. After and bunch of test and referrals to specialists I was diagnosed with gastroparesis. Dr. Anderson has been my biggest advocate in more ways than one. I feel very blessed to have such a caring doctor by my side through this journey. She always makes time for me even on short notice and she does genuinely care about her patients.

I have never had a doctor that is as hands on as Dr. Anderson nor as personable. I have only been to her once, but she was wonderful and I will continue my care with her. I had heard wonderful things about Dr. Anderson from my sister-in-law, and once I met Dr. Anderson, I could immediately tell why my sister-in-law adores her. Dr. Anderson has the type of personality and professionalism that is able to make her patient feel important and understood. When you speak to her, she actively listens and is very attentive. Dr. Anderson's staff was very kind, polite, and professional. -Eva Rhea

As a registered nurse, I am pretty picky about my doctors. But Dr. Tonda was very attentive and caring to me. At first I did not realize she was the physician. So when she introduced herself while bringing me back and performing my vital signs, I realized she was a very hands on professional. My whole family is moving to Dr. Tonda. After this last visit I knew it was time to find a new doctor. Without exaggeration, I was in the exam room for less than 5 minutes. She looked in my throat and told me to "wash my hands". She didn't take my temperature after I complained of a fever. She didn't check my ears after I described having pain in my ears. I told her of being weak with chest congestion, she didn't check my blood pressure or listen to my chest. She charged me my $30 co-pay in order to tell me to "wash my hands". Who knows how much she bills my insurance? Find another doctor!
