Shady Cove Clinic, for many years operated by Dr. Howard Ferguson, was purchased by Kathy Finley and re-opened in 1993. Kathy has called the Rogue Valley "home" for over forty years. Although she was called away several times on health care assignments, she has always come home to the Rogue Valley. As the need for medical care in the Upper Rogue area has increased, other health care providers have joined Kathy to care for the medical needs of the community. Kathy and her staff genuinely care about each person who trusts us with their medical care.
Services
Preventive care including annual exams, and medical as well as diet and lifestyle counseling. Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses such as respiratory, bladder and ear infections, pneumonia. Diagnose and treat chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, depression and COPD, using prescription medications and other treatments.
We are contracted with Medicare, Tricare, Oregon Medicaid, Regence BlueCross, Healthnet, and most commercial insurance carriers operating in our area. If you can not find us on your plan's list of providers, please ask us so we can clarify our relationship with your plan. We are "in-network" for over 95% of the plans available today.
Many of our patients prefer a Nurse Practitioner over an MD or DO for their primary medical care. A Nurse Practitioner has at least four full years of university level medical education beyond a basic Registered Nurse (RN). They are specially educated to provide the same type and quality of outpatient medical care services you receive from a family practice physician (MD).
We see patients on an appointment basis for chronic conditions. Patients with new or emerging conditions are welcome to call and make an appointment. We make every effort to honor our time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us. If a scheduled appointment can not be kept, please notify the clinic as far in advance as possible.

Not sure what happened to the office staff but Myranda was extremely rude. Told me they could not message my doctor to refill an rx. Told me they did not get a fax, I was later informed that they change the fax number. Called back she said that she could not message the dr. it was not their process. Hung up on me, when I called back she threatened to fire me as a patient. I have never had such poor interaction at this location.

I am getting myself assigned to a new primary care provider if that tells you anything. The only way I would be staying with them is as a last resort! I went in with questions to my primary care doctor regarding my pregnancy and bleeding and she acted like I was crazy. I ended up in the ER with a subchorionic hemorrhage and my pregnancy ended with a miscarriage a week later.
I'm not saying this was the doctors fault, but I think she should have taken my concerns more seriously! She didn't even give me an exam to see what was going on, or order for any further tests. I had blood drawn only because I requested having it done myself and thank God I ended up going to the Asante Urgent Care to have it done. I was highly upset when the office called a MONTH later to see how my 8 week ultrasound went. In my opinion a doctor should make your health and well-being a priority. Steer clear of The Shady Cove clinic if you possibly can!

The PA In charge called an unqualified "dematoligist" who told her I might have cancer and she then relayed this misinformation to me. It was an allergic reaction that I successfully treated with benedryl. This "dermatologist" was shortly relieved of his license to practice. He wasn't a dermatologist at all. He was a PA practicing as a dermatologist.
I called his office to make an appointment and his receptionist kept referring to him as a dermatologist. After hearing this a few times I pointed out to her he wasn't a dermatologist and would never be one and made no appointment. This was relayed to the PA at the Shady Cove Clinic and I was sent a letter saying they would no longer see me as a patient except on an emergency basis.
This was whole episode was very unprofessional and petty on the part of the Shady Cove Clinic. To tell a patient they might have cancer and needed to see this "dermatologist" immediately could have been very scary for the average person. Luckily I was able to treat it myself out of necessity. This Clinic should loose it's license to see patients and the PA running it should never see patients again.
Instead of calling her supervising physician she instead called an unqualified "dermatologist" and then told me I may have cancer based on that phone call. To put this in perspective my whole face was red, swollen and very painful.
